  • The long process of finding the issue eventually led me to just give up on finding it lmao. But in the end, it was a simple mistake on my part that needed to be corrected in order for the bike to start. The stator seemed to have been the main issue, but the regulator rectifier played a part as well.
    It's finally working, so I can finally get working on some other things I wanted to do to it. What color should I paint this....

    Hey my man did you have power at all before starting this repair process. I have an 87 and I bought a new battery and started relay but I am still not getting lights on, or clicking. If you did I might have to fix it the way you did.

    nice you fixed the problem, i actually got a fuel leak problem in the carbureator, i had to mod the petcock to an on/off type , but now when i try to start the bike on, it fed a LOT of gas into the carb and sometimes spit trough the air filter.... some people says that its the petcock, but, idk... i can see that you actually did the raptor 660 petcock mod.. have any suggestions?

      I’m not too versed with motorcycles or carburetors in general, plus I bought the bike like this. So I don’t know how helpful I can be, but if you haven’t done any work to your carburetor then that should be addressed first. I’m not sure a normal petcock would give that issue unless when you turn it off it isn’t actually off.

    • @carolinacambo
      @carolinacambo 3 роки тому

      The problem isn’t your pet cock it’s your fuel float isn’t closing! I modded my pet cock to on/off (deleted the vacuum function) and that’s not normal. Still good practice to keep fuel off when you do that mod

    Where did you get your solo seat? Also, how did you mount it, was there any welding involved? I see you moved the rectifier to the battery compartment.... will the wires reach that far? I want to remove the stock seat and do a solo seat but only have basic knowledge and am a little nervous to start removing things. So any insight could help!

    • @b.ba.bakana
      @b.ba.bakana  3 роки тому +1

      It’s on pretty ghetto to be honest. I got it like this, but it seems like the front will fit fine, but the back you might have to mock something up to stabilize the seat if you don’t want to weld anything.

    • @b.ba.bakana
      @b.ba.bakana  3 роки тому +1

      And also, motorcycles are so simple that you can remove the part to figure out what you want to do and put it back together once you figure it out!

    One more main question is about how much did you pay for that stator and where did you order it from because I found some on actual OEM parts websites and those dang things are 350 plus but I found some on eBay for around $50 just curious

    • @b.ba.bakana
      @b.ba.bakana  3 роки тому

      I asked some bike experts in the area and they said you really can’t cheap out on it with those eBay ones. I paid around $150 if I remember correctly!

      @@whyme9501 hahaha I know what you mean. Well I’ve never taken the belt off but I see that someone said you need to remove the left shock, and then you can move the belt forward with enough room to slide it off the front of the pulley.
      If not, looks like someone had bent the pulley lip just enough to get the belt off and on, and then bent it back in place 😂

      pauliebots it originally goes to the petcock. I believe it’s a secondary vacuum lock in the event fuel begins to fill the carb after the petcock being left in reserve.
