Hi yeah the foil is softer than the chrome so it doesn't scratch it. Obviously if there isn't any chrome left it won't bring it back. in this case just try and Polish the metal.

Hi . Thanks for watching. I found them on Ebay searching gum/amber wall 20 inch tires. Think they are meant for a mtb but they look cool on the bmx.

You do beautiful work brother. I’m building a couple bikes at the moment but my bride and joy at the moment is a 90 pro series xl black frame and forks nos. I got all the correct parts for it and going to start this week on it as the last of the parts come in and the shop builds my wheels ( still haven’t mastered truing wheels) it’s going to be a good one.

I value your opinion but I wanted to go the route most of us did back then. I know I couldn't afford a 3pc then. It's just a more realistic build to me. Thanks for watching

@whitewellybmxrestorations They had the cheap bottom bracket for the conversion kit in YST brand using same retainers as bearings I used to use them

Hi no it didn't. Would have been a opc on the slammer and a GT branded profile crank on the team slammer. It was eiser for me to find a redline cranknthan the gt one. The pedals I used are wellgo with removable grips similar to the gt elite. Would have had metal platform gt branded wellgo on. Hope that helps.

Hi. The Aero has built in standers on the chainstay. No cable guides. As far as I know these were made with Tange tubing. Other than that I think they are the same.

Yeah I remember the plastic hub ones. The acorn hubs "look" the same size but I bet they arnt. I dont have an old skyway to hand at the moment. I remember there were aftermarket hub kits available for skyways back in the day. There will be a full video on the acorns soon.

@whitewellybmxrestorations you know that group elbow well a friend who knew mark potter who was selling his nice skyway BMX in 1987 brought it to my house and selling it for 30£ and my mum wouldn't buy it I was pissed no one had a skyway BMX ,at crimbo got one out a catalogue the one with foot pegs up the forks and half circle for standing backies and then amaco freestyle

That's epic. I've never owned a TA . £30 was a decent price back then. Gutted you didnt get it but ammaco wasnt a bad bike really. Some ammaco are demanding similar money to skyway now. Stories like this make my videos worthwhile. Thank you for sharing.

@whitewellybmxrestorations the amaco had quick release brakes for taking wheels off , and friend had cromo burner , I'd love get another looking for one local look around 300£

No it's not original to the bike but original to the brake plate. It stops the plate rotating under hard braking. It's supposed to have an acs boa or 860 front brake. Which I didnt have at the time. I might change it out at some point. Thank you for watching.

@@whitewellybmxrestorations Maybe go buy hose clamps that are thinner.. those are way overkill. I used to have heavy duty plastic zip ties on mine and it never moved and they never broke. Also.. maybe use some elephant snot on the bashguard to get rid of all that rust.

Yeah could do. I'll look into it. There is rust on the bashguard . I did try and remove it but it was very stubborn.

Thank you so much. The previous owner did a number on the original paint and generic ebay decals. I wanted to do the frame justice and make a bike that would turn heads. That it does, even won a medal at a local show and shine.
