My heart sank when you started scratching the decals off… then I was overwhelmed with joy as I watched that factory quality paint job come to life! Such a gnarly build!
Thank you so much. The previous owner did a number on the original paint and generic ebay decals. I wanted to do the frame justice and make a bike that would turn heads. That it does, even won a medal at a local show and shine.
Thank you for the comment. Much appreciated. I'm on the hunt for a 20b. Rather like the frame design. Glad I brought back a memory for you. If you havnt subscribed yet , hit the button so you see my upcoming builds.
Anyone not subbed to this channel should be. Including me! Instant sub. The amount of quality work in this one vid is appreciated. Your editing is on point. Redline turned out awesome. RAD transformation. Can’t wait to see what else you do. Nothing like restoring old bmx bikes.
Oh my. I really dont know what to say back to your comment but thank you so much. It would be epic if everyone subscribed, makes sense so you dont miss any of the 14 builds coming. Thank you for watching and subscribing. 👍
Awesome job, love the way the decals looked when they went on. I think the rear brake should have been on the right but thats personal preference, no biggie. Sweet subbed
Brilliant thank you. Check out my how to playlist and other build videos. Loads of info here. If you are unsure on anything dont hesitate to comment. Regards
Really nice work mate, brings back old memories, i have started on restoring my old 1996 GT Performer, its been stored in my garage the last 20 years. 🚴
I have a 96 g.t. Vertigo ,I bought it in 2006 .I made a mistake of stripping the paint off and painting it sky blue, not knowing the purple passion splatter paint that was on it was highly sought after..I’m getting ready to redo the bike again .I’m hoping I can figure out a way to paint it like the original paint again..I’m 50 so I didn’t know a lot about the 90’s paint schemes back in 2006..I knew a ton about the 80’s bikes .I regret selling off some of my bikes about 6 years ago ..1987 dyno compo completely restored and a 86 jetter.I still have my 85 mongoose a 87 Ventura freestyler and the 96 g.t…I recent bought a 97 free agent
Wow !!! Mad Skills. Raw Talent. I restored several 1980’s Old School BMX and used Powder coat for all of them. Since they are rare, I was afraid to try paint. This came out Incredible. SUBSCRIBED
Cheers man. Means alot. I've nothing against powder just prefer to paint. Got a 95 diamond back venom to paint in a custom colour which should be good. Shows what can be achieved by rattle can by an average person. Thanks for the sub. Appreciate it.
Hi thanks for watching. The first one I tried was deil/B&Q own brand which worked ok. But the better one I used after that was RUSTINS STNF500 Strypit Paint & Varnish Stripper. Works like older paint stripper. Thanks again for watching.
Thank you for watching and the comment. I think the street beat uses 32.5mm cups opposed to the 30mm ones. Not sure on the fork race either 26.4mm or 27mm . Most headsets for Raleigh burners should fit but dont quote me on that. Good luck with the build
This comment section is very opinionated. A trip honestly. Hey you did phenomenal, if I hadn’t seen you painting it I wouldn’t have believed you if you said you painted it. 😳
Thank you for the kind words. Using a rattle can for the paint can give results like I have as long as the prep is correct. Thank you for watching. Dont forget to subscribe for more builds.

Nice job, looks sick. Those stickers are probably more rare than the frame?

Had Redline stopped production of the 4-piece "Forklifter" bars in 1991?
No the brochure shows them as optional but are listed as freestyle bars
Great vid mate and top job on the build ,might I ask what paint stripper you used
Hi thanks for watching. The first one I tried was deil/B&Q own brand which worked ok. But the better one I used after that was RUSTINS STNF500

amazing work!!! i am trying to restore a skyway Street Beat and cant find any fork headset to fit..any suggestion ? thanks

I have so many questions. Struggling with a reno on doing on a Dyno Compe
Hi. If you want any advice. Message me on instagram. Tiktok facebook. I'll gladly help.
Por que sempre coloca o freio traseiro na mão esquerda??
It's the british way according to iso standards and british standards.
Did they make the decals special for you?
I got them from a place here in the uk that's no longer in business. Yes they are reproduction

nice work. dude should wear a respirator seriously
Thanks for watching. Yeah that might help
Redline sure dropped the quality level of their forks from their RL-20 to this frame. These forks look totally generic
Probably to save money. Also as axle pegs were becoming more popular than the cork standers.
the pegs replaces the nuts, the way you mounted the pegs will kill your axles in hours
Thank you for watching the video. Much appreciated. Yeah I know about the pegs. . Didnt want them on permanently. Just to show the look.
Those handlebars are original??
Yeah they came with the frame. The chrome was shot so had to paint them. Thanks for watching.
RAD
Cheers man
i have 2 sets of black 9/16 tripple trap pedals
Nice
@@whitewellybmxrestorations i dont want them anymore
@@davinadavina1331 put them on ebay. You will get the best price there.
Where did you get the decals. Thanks
Hi. They were custom from a guy in the UK but he has stopped making them unfortunately.
Wat kind of tires are those anyone know the brand and color
Hi thanks for watching I think they are curio brand street tyre. Colour is supposed to be pink but more of a raspberry
OK thanks there really nice Goin to grab a pair for my gt pro ...
quit using adjustable wrenches on everything
Thanks for the view
