I watched a qualifying match at the Singapore Tennis Open wta250 on the weekend and I can't work out why you're not much higher ranked, Amy. You look like you hit harder and move better than the 130-160th ranked women I saw. Maybe it's just the video, but I'm impressed in every video Ive seen you play, from Winston's to your own channels videos.

It's tough playing a "frustrating" opponent like this. Well done on the qualifier wins! Possible strategy: I believe making more balls than usual and to be patient. Let me know what you think of my proposed strategy. 🍉🎾

I don’t get how everyone falls for her slices…you know it’s coming, she’s old as hell, so do it right back to her?? Wear her out. Young players have always tried to hit through her and she feeds off of them

Tough loss Amy! I still remember watching the Wimbledon semifinal where Tatiana lost that nail biting 3 setter against Ons Jabeur. She’s an extremely tough, unconventional player even for the likes of Jabeur.

First time I've come across you playing, and it was great to watch. Great form and some smart shots. Shame the footage is a bit blurry though - ruins the ability to watch it properly!

Good to see that the short slice was working for you. This is a strategy that will work for many opponents, not just Maria. Maria is a very unconventional player; it would be interesting to see if you watched any OTHER players beating her, and how they managed that, and what was the difference in your play to that. I think the difference wouldnt be as big as you might think.

Great game. I wish you could let emotions in locker room. And be more your self on the court. Was an easy opponent to beat ..just topspin left and right make her to move. As previous msg. You still need to work on Serve plus one. And some footworks paterns.where you use more your hips..also your dropshots needs to be guided by launches more not the racket..Try work hard and never be afraid playing top 100 players is fun..trust me.they get annoyed 😅

That seems like a really annoying match to play with all the slicing.

You held up really well, considering her Wimbledon status… wow! Amy!! Her slices must have been tough, and the altitude issue, but she does seem vulnerable playing so far behind the baseline.

Thanks for bringing us along on your journey. My daughter (10yo) and I really enjoy watching your videos together. Also, glad to see that the accommodations and treatment of the players is better at that tournament. We are looking forward to following your 2025 season

I saw this match live since this tournament had excellent coverage on UA-cam. I remember watching the Popisil match and then seeing you and Maria in the warm-up. I knew I had to watch.

She is a master of slice, keeping the ball low, deep and moving you around while forcing you to create all the pace. That's a hard combination to deal with! I'm glad you got a taste of 'the good life' on the tour for once! LOL Congrats on your new high ranking!!
