love your analysis, shows what's going through your mind in these matches, you're remarkably clear headed, way to go.
Love your videos and your journey! Olivia and I watched every one of them. Cannot wait until your next video.
as long as you know you improved and can make adjustments i take that as a win! keep killing it youll beat her next time!
Helluva match! Really long rallies, and great job adjusting to win the second set and get back in the match. That takes a lot of courage, discipline and instinct/court smarts. Not the ending you wanted but still something to be very proud of with a lot of good to takeaway! Hang in there and keep building the confidence to fight to get to semi's and beyond!
Thank you so much for the nice message!!
Also, loved the music addition and the intro overall!
You hit the ball so clean wow 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! Haha
oh man, you did so well Amy! it was really a tough match. Keep going!!! will keep supporting!
Thank you!!
damn, that was a tough, tough loss. Props for still analyzing and uploading it
@6:52....this made me laugh. You just said that you wanted to take her time away by position rather than power then BOOM one of the most awesome, powerful forehands I've ever seen you hit, Amy! Great video. Thanks.
Thank you so much!!
Tough match but great adjustments in the 2nd set. Terrific seeing you get deeper into tournaments.
Thank you!!
Amy, you did well. Better than your previous outing against her. Which means your level is getting higher (always good). Some additional positives to take from this match; you were able to push her deep behind the baseline. Thats great, considering she's a clay court specialist. What that ALSO does, is it opens up the court for the short game. Not only drop shots, but short angles. Ash Barty was a master at the short backhand slice cross court. This would really trouble opponents, particularly players who like to really hit the ball hard, because its often low, wide, off balance, and because its short theres less depth to hit into, so they cant really blast flat.
If you have another look, there were a LOT of opportunities for a short ball. Not only that, you can play them strategically; for example, hit a few early in the match, and do it on points where its 40-0 on your serve, or 0-40 on her serve. And make them obvious, getting the racket into position early. The point here is to signal it early, and MAKE them read it. Then later in the match, when you have a highly important point, you shape up again for the drop shot, and when she starts running in, instead you slide it deep up the line. The fake drop shot. On the right point (eg match point), its devastating.
Your forehand is such an inspiration to a rec player like me
Awwww haha thanks!!
Bonardi is a great defensive player. Those moon balls are tough and she is so consistent with them.
First! Good luck Amy
Thank you!
加油!
Forgive my amateur perspective, but clearly forehand is Bonardi's favorite shot and most of your balls are going there. Watching the match, I kept waiting for you to attack her backhand, but it just never happened. Or maybe you did and it just didn't work out since we're not seeing the whole match.
Either way, incredible effort. I really enjoy watching your journey.
Thanks for the message! Yea so I was trying to attack it but she camps out on the ad side and looking for forehands and that’s the side she likes to hit forehands from because she can really get me off the court and then go inside in. I felt like her forehand from the deuce side was not as dangerous and if I got her off the court on that side I could get some room to attack her backhand. Probably could have executed that better tho 😅
Good Effort. Keep it up! In between tournaments, do you get to chill in the city and sightsee a bit before the next tournament? Would love to see some local food and sites in your videos.
Sometimes I do depending on when I have to head to the next tournament but that’s a good idea for a video!
I love watching the clay court grindathons. The clay looked a little dry, was the ball moving faster than usual on the dirt? It's really hard losing those 3rd set breakers but I think your mental approach to the game is very solid and you will be fine for the next tournament. Keep playing hard and best of luck moving forward! 🙂🎾
Thank you! I think as the sun was setting and as it was getting cooler the balls also weren’t as lively which does make a bit of a difference
Oh man, that 5-4 point in the tie break 😬
dayum, starting a rivalry with bonardi!
Nice 1 handed
How much does 1 cup of coffee cost?
Smile more when you’re in front of the camera. It’ll bring the vibe up, good luck
Lol, sorry about your hotel room.
That was a tough loss but you played pretty damn solid against a clay courter like that. You went for a couple shots on match points and barely missed. You smoked you round of 16 opponent. Keep your head up that was some good tennis
Thank you!
