Jailbreak a PS Vita Without a PC using another Jailbroken Vita Mod - PSN and Saves 3.74
Updated Vita Browser Link: bit.ly/vita374hc or without the
Remember to set Settings: Henkaku Settings: Spoofing to 3.74 now.
Someone pointed out to me that you don't have to do a System Restore to preform this jailbreak, having a PSN account is ok to run the Jailbreak software.
Description:
If you or a friend has a Jailbroken PlayStation Vita, a Sony Memory Card, and Wifi Internet, you can use that hacked Vita to mod another Vita!
If you have thought about Homebrew Enabling your Vita but don't want to lose games or access to the PSN store, trophies, etc... you should know that people play online with hacked Vitas. This guide shows how to switch over from 3.74 online to 3.60 online while spoofed as 3.74. It also shows how to keep save files and back up the game card to SD2Vita so that both the Memory Card and Game Card can be left at home.
This mod relies heavily on the Internet.
Another video coming on a hack card that doesn't need the Internet.
This video shows how to add jailbreak software to an actively used memory card and homebrew enable a Vita while preserving save files. Another video on Jailbreaking a Vita (or PSTV) using another Jailbroken Vita while wiping the memory card and not retaining any saved data - That video is faster and can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/RruKySHOH2w/v-deo.html
The download for the PlayStation Vita:
bit.ly/vita374hc
that is just a shortened link to:
www.mediafire.com/file/em0u484nb3jam4v/HackCard374.zip/file
Please comment if this zip is unavailable - I'll add another link.
This download is really just the uploaded files from a memory card that hacked a vita using H-Encore2, VitaDeploy and VitaShell. You can easily recreate these files or add more apps to the rescue memory card. If you have a memory card with H-Encore2 and VitaDeploy, all you have to do is delete id.dat from the card and it will work on any updated vita that isn't registered in PSN - you don't need the zip.
This video requires:
A Jailbroken Vita using SD2VITA or PSVSD.
A Sony Vita Memory Card - Any Size.
Internet with WiFi and the password available.
A Vita or PSTV that hasn't been Jailbroken.
An SD2VITA and MicroSD for the new Vita.

    • @anderxale1
      @anderxale1 25 днів тому

      @@dalekman9999 Neither are perfect options to be honest. Note 9 battery is labeled as 4000mAh but even if you can get an actual Samsung Note 9 battery and not a low quality fake you can only get 3000mAh out of it because the Vita only uses 3.7v batteries and only charges to 4.15v (Note 9 batteries are 3.85v and want to be charged to 4.35v for full capacity). Off brand Note batteries are just hobby batteries with a fancy label and do NOT give the capacity written on the label (at least the ones I've tested). The battery that I use in the video is a 5000mAh 3.7v battery but it's a hobby battery. Hobby batteries are lower quality and can damage the Vita if it puffs with gas inside and then you try to charge it. It can even start a fire under the right conditions if a thermistor isn't installed. The worst thing about both is this: The Vita will always believe it has the original 2200mAh battery installed. The Vita doesn't read the battery's voltage to determine how full the battery is unless the battery is resting (off or asleep for a while). So while my 5000mAh battery theoretically can get over double the normal 4.5 hour play time and the "Samsung Note" battery can use just over 3000mAh adding another 34% to the capacity - neither battery actually provides the theoretical play time. The battery I use can give almost 7.5 hours if the user takes a lot of long breaks (1 hour) or forces the Vita to read the battery's voltage. The Note battery can get 5.5 ish hours doing the same. Note mod is much easier. Both mods will at the very least play like the original battery. The 5000mAh can even correct the % once while playing because the capacity difference is so great (doesn't mean it will every time, but usually does)

    • @anderxale1
      @anderxale1 25 днів тому

      @@dalekman9999 Some old batteries (13 years old!!) are still great! Some replacement batteries use hobby batteries inside... so it's kind of taking a chance. New Vita replacement batteries do work though - this would be my recommendation for a replace and forget. If willing to check on your battery for gas, I currently recommend either of these mods (my clip in mod or Note 9) more than other battery mod options - but just curb your enthusiasm. I would expect to get the normal 4.5 hours per charge and any extra time you get per charge is bonus - if willing to either disconnect the battery or simulate disconnecting using the battery fixer app then you can use 75% of the capacity. The Note battery mod is very easy. If you want more play time between charges than the Note battery provides then you could just bring a second Note battery with you and change the battery when empty. Since I made my mod a clip in battery mod these batteries are also easy to change out and you could bring a second battery with you. Keep extra batteries in a hard case to protect them while not in the Vita! I use a hard cigarette case. I'm about to release a video on overcoming the Vita's battery management issue by bypassing the issue... I installed a charger, a voltage booster, and a battery checker module. This requires a good amount of soldering, fitting, and work but it's pretty easy. But if you aren't willing to solder then this isn't a good option. I do however get the full 10 hours from the 5000mAh battery now. There will be a simpler how-to battery mod video after I release this first video... although this first video does show how it is done. I expect the second video to be much cleaner than this prototype but will still require 20+ solder points.

      These current Vita battery mods are annoying to use. To get the most capacity out of a battery using this mod (and currently all battery mods) you have to take long breaks with the Vita off or asleep (1 hour?), or you have to use the "battery fixer" app to simulate disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it, or you can actually disconnect and reconnect the battery. I am releasing a video soon for a battery mod that avoids this issue but days require additional components! @@CarlosCabrera-ot5ji You can drill through the screw head... If you slip you may put a hole through your motherboard. You can use pliers to break the post holding the stripped screw from the motherboard - twist it in the same rotational plane as rotating a screw. You can cut the screwed corners off the 3G card too. Destroys the 3G adapter but gives the best chance of getting the screws out by grabbing the head with pliers so you can still use posts to mount PSVSD later if you want. Hi again! I followed another usb c tutorial (Yakara's, normal usb c, not usb c pd), and it initially worked ok. After some time, it randomly started to not charging if the battery level was under some level (about a third or so), until it just charged when the battery drained completely so the psvita turned off automatically, or using the original charger (at any charge level). Today, I just can charge it using the usb c or the original charger only when the battery drained completely (othereise, if I connect either charger, I just get the blue light, not the orange one). Do you know what could have happenned? (I'm thinking in making the tp4056 mod)

    • @anderxale1
      @anderxale1 Місяць тому

      The USB adapter Yakara used will only work with USB-A to USB-C cable or charger. Because it's missing 2 resistors that help it function on USB-C PD (Power Delivery). You need a USB-A to USB-C cable and a USB-A charger that is 5 Volts and 1.5 Amps or higher. (5V 1.5A or 5V 2A or 5v 3A should be written on the charger)

      As for not charging unless the battery is low enough... I don't really know what's happening. I would try charging with a 5V 1.5A charger (the original Vita charger is this) and connect a USB A to USB C cable and see if you get the orange light. If not - something else is wrong. The tp4056 mod is pretty good.

If you are interested let me know, we can discuss all the mods and come up with a price that is worth you while. Just a heads up I am very particular in what I want.

      You should list mod ideas so I can read your list. HDMI out is maybe possible... but probably too tough for my ability. It would be randomly trying to connect 19 wires again and again... It's much easier to make a dock using a Raspberry Pi that can output to to the TV. Or use a PSTV and just mirror the saves on both Vita and PSTV. It would be fun to see a list and try to do it. I own a lot of Vitas... Might resurrect the idea of selling modded Vitas on eBay linked to the channel so buyers can see the work. Hmmm I did want to try attaching Nintendo switch sticks. The SLIM Vita's sticks have the same number of connections without R3 but the OLED has 2 extra - it's a different technology for the sticks between the OLED and the SLIM. If I can get a switch stick working, that means I can get Switch style Hall Effect sticks. R2 & L2 - and R3 & L3 are possible - easier with Switch sticks if they are possible. Otherwise I already have buttons that go under the current Vita sticks. But for R2 & L2 triggers I can't think of a good button paddle combo that would look good or even feel good. I have a neat idea to try but... I've never finished this mod. I use a "Top Player" L2 R2 grip that does a similar thing to this mod and I find it very comfortable... so I lost interest. I hope and believe that I have a working battery mod idea - I have all the parts and I'm trying this out tonight or tomorrow. Currently Vita battery mods are not consistent or reliable without manually correcting the Vita. But if you list your wish list, I might try it just for fun. Might make videos on it or maybe not. You would see it - maybe we could work out a price based on if you want the final product and how much time went into it.

    So technically you now have 3 microsd card slots, that's insane modding dude. I bought this on release and had it for years, it's mind blowing for me. AND there's still another one for the M2 card, so four all together, which is kinda overkill.

    • @anderxale1
      @anderxale1 2 місяці тому

      No no, the "M2 port" is actually a mPCIe port and used for the PSVSD MicroSD adapter. Only 2 places for MicroSD and also the Vita Memory Card slot makes 3 locations.

    Wow thats amazing! 3:00 how long did the tape last since its been two years now? Does it work along with other memory cards installed? (e.g SD2VITA memory card). Also would this work with a PSVITA wireless only? Have you tried replacing the Sony M2 card slot instead?

    • @anderxale1
      @anderxale1 2 місяці тому

      Lol it still works! :) M2 requires too much current. I looked it up today haha. Yes you can use SD2Vita along with PSVSD but only one location can you install Vita games (you choose the location). Roms, PSP Games, everything else can be installed on the other card if you want but all Vita games and homebrew and ports all on one card together. You know if you want this and you don't have a 3G... You could buy a 3G with a broken screen or bad port (if you install USB-C) and just switch the motherboard and use that Vita's back so it has the SIM bay door. Or you could order a 3G board and 3G touch back with SIM door from AliExpress and switch those out. It gets kinda pricey after buying everything though. 3G motherboard is $35, 3G back is like $15 I think, PSVSD is $25 plus shipping and then the extension cable from this vid is a couple bucks. Like $80-$90?

      @@anderxale1 So I don't need to buy another PS Vita 3G, I just need to buy the PSVita 3G housing/shell back from AliExpress!? That makes a lot of sense, damn you're thinking outside the box! Honestly I don't mind sinking money into this as I know I will be getting my money back. Sony let me down really badly after closing the PS Store for vita after I payed for a lot of PS1, PSP vita games, can't even access all of them! And you check the expensive prices online with memory cards and games in 2024 when it's discontinued is insane! Now I am going to just emulate all PSP, PS1 and Vita games on my vita!

    Hey dude, I just resurrected my PSVita after years of abandonment, had one since 2013. I am going to mod it since the games are so expensive, feel a little bad but man the cards are also expensive too, nowadays handhelds come with 512GB upon release. What are your top 5 hardware mods you recommend? (mine doesn't need repair for now, and I understand Vita is harder to physically mod than other handhelds. 1. Add USB-C 2. 3. 4. ? Thanks

    • @anderxale1
      @anderxale1 2 місяці тому

      I didn't recommend a battery mod unless you have some reason to not use a portable charger. I'm trying something tomorrow that might make battery mods more usable... Yeah USB-C is the best. If your vita is 3G I would highly recommend PSVSD so you can have the storage internally instead of using the game card slot. I would also recommend the MicroSD extension to the SIM card bay so you can change the MicroSD without opening the Vita. You can still use game cards too if your storage is internal. If you don't have a 3G Vita, then I suggest using the SD2VITA MicroSD game card adapter. Use up to 2 TB MicroSD cards - All cards work well when empty. Only 500 titles can display on the home screen - so you need to use another launcher if you want to access more games. Slowdowns and crashes while using system apps can be an issue with reading large storage too (games play fine though once you load them). I recommend keeping Vita games under 280GB or so to avoid the system apps lag. PS Vita homebrew and native Ports (like GTA and Bully) count towards this cap too. PS One games, PSP games, and other roms, video files and music don't seem to affect Vita speed like the Vita games do so put as many as you can fit. I have other mods that I'm working on but - I don't think I'd recommend them even if completed. Like R2L2 R3L3 mod for PS1 games and playing the PS4 over the network. I'd instead recommend a R2L2 case and touch the screen if you need R3 There is a possible internal storage mod for OLED Vitas that a Vita software dev told me is possible. I'm going to try it... we'll see. I don't recommend a lot of hardware mods haha. Just one or two.

    I had major battery problems, when I’ll go to bed battery was at 100% then I shut it off and the next day it was at 35%. So it was draining even when it is off. I put in a new battery but that didn’t improve anything. Last thing I could do what’s to remove the 3G chip and sim tray. I did that yesterday and went to bed. Before I went to sleep the battery was at 89% the next morning it was at 88%!!! So it will help!

      Hooray better battery! But anyone reading this, you don't have to destroy the port like I did in the video to achieve better battery. Just remove the 3G card and the belt to the SIM card like hengelo... long username did :)

      You can also just disable the cellular modem by long pressing the PSVita button. My guess is that if they had the original SIM card installed, the console was searching for reception nonstop because 3G doesn't exist anymore.

    The vita has the best stock battery life of any more modern handheld I've ever owned. In contrast it feels like the 3DS was made to suck battery through a straw.
