you’re projecting to the max. my son has been called a girl in every hairstyle imaginable, and lets be clear he is never dressed anything like a girl. he has beautiful features and long lashes and is always put together cleanly. should i change that to avoid other people’s opinions? no!! lol. he has no problem correcting people and telling them he’s a boy because we’ve had many discussions about it and other peoples opinions don’t define him. and he just turned 5. he loves his braids and gets so many compliments too. this page has HELPED us to find more masculine styles when there isn’t much content out there to go off of for boys. boys love braids, the end

Khamari is a very perfect example: no matter how much he trys to stand out with his braided hairstyles he will always be called out for looking like a girl, because kids at such a young age are almost impossible to seperate the differences in terms of genders and lets not forget that Khamari also never had a choice in the matter as we can see from the very first video posted in the channel as he progresses with more and more braided hairstyles just to be "unique" when this is mainly just him growing up believing all this to be naturual when most men clearly couldnt care less about it, in the end it just makes toddler boys constantly stressed (plus its a waste of time) because theyre always under the impression that it was always naturual to be this way when other people clearly dont think it to be that way, the best thing to do is to leave that hobby alone TEMPORARELY until he decides to show that side of himself at an later older age, otherwise we are just forcing somebody to look like something that we cant even be certain of what they wanna look like, so stop acting like they love it when you cannot even be sure if thats what Khamari alongside several other kids even want just because yours likes it + its like you said: he is only 5, so let him make that choice for himself when he is older too, the way you're forcing kids to look like someone they are not without them being aware is just making parents look like they are controlling the kids' choices. Also for the record: theres something called being too unique. (otherwise for simplicity: let Khamari look like a normal boy for now)

I also just didn't think he needed one for a while and then I was like do I trust someone else to do it, I don't know if I can do it myself lol so it took my a bit to actually commit but I'm happy I did and hopefully soon I'll commit to taking him to a salon and letting someone other than myself touch his hair for the first time in 6 years 😩 lol

Thank you so much for enjoying this video! This style (I'm guessing cause I can't remember for certain) took about 3 hours. That's with food/snack breaks, washroom breaks, finding a show to watch, etc. And this lasted about two weeks, it can stay in longer but he's had quite a bit of auditions lately so I've had to take his hair out sometimes even 24 hours after doing it 😬 but if you little ones hair tends to be dry or more on the low porosity side then I'd recommend redoing their hair every week or two. You can try using a spray bottle to refresh the hair to have the style last longer but you want to make sure that the hair is retaining the length from the protective style and it can't do that if it's dry/not hydrated, scalps not moisturized/treated, etc. Hope this helps! 💙

All the hard work we put it for it to be messy by the time they wake up 😩 I didn’t trim his hair until recently (he was 6) and I did it myself, not professionally. If you think it’s time, then it’s probably time, mommy instincts are always right lol Kham’s hair has also changed so I’m adjusting and just tying to figure out the best products, styles, and ways to take care of and show off his curls. We’re in this together 💪🏽

Finally got my son to wear a durag for the first time this evening 💃🏽 so hopefully this will continue moving forward!

But that's also why I prefer just going with the pillowcase because we never know how rough they're going to sleep and what could happen!

First of all, congrats! 💙 In this video Kham was just over a year old, but I say it all depends on the little one because they can start growing or having their hair come in at different times/ages. Kham just happened to be born with a full head of hair and it just kept growing from that day. So once you see your little one has enough hair to style without causing too much tension, because we don't want any pulling and straining of the hair cause that will cause breakage, then that's when you can start. Generally I'd think that's around 1/1.5 years old, not serious intricate styles, just basic stuff to keep his hair protected and retaining the length from his growth, but play it by ear and you can look through the videos when Kham's younger and see what works for you at that stage. Hope this helps! 💙

So not the next video (already recorded lol) but the following on will be a new twist style for you! Twists are such a great protective style cause you can redo them weekly like you do and that gives you the chance to add more product and water to rehydrate and let the hair retain some length and be healthy 💙
