My son has moving scalp as well...on top of him not wanting to sit still but he's 3 years old so I don't really expect him to...and he has different curl patterns and textures so all that combined makes me want to chop it off( just kidding) but he is half indigenous so his hair is a cultural thing...and he looks so cute with it too😊

Oh I know that feeling ✂ lool but I totally get it, with Kham having about 2-3 texture himself it's a bit tricky and a little annoying at times but like you said they're so cute with their hair. That's amazing that your son has that added level of importance with his hair being a cultural thing, I love it!
But at least we know this moving scalp thing isn't just us and we kinda have a way of working through it. Thanks for watching 💙

Hi, do you trim him hair? I have been struggling lately with my 5 year olds hair I feel like it’s thinning out and I try products as well as loc method. I do not blow dry his hair and his scalp struggles with dryness and white flakes, which has just recently starting happening. The oils and shine and Jam does not seem to work for him as it irritates his skin, but u feel like they both have the same hair textures which is why I started watching your videos along with me just learning recently to breaks after having him, lol! Any suggestions would help! Thanks

Hiii 👋🏽 thanks so much for watching! I love that they're both 5 how cute 🤗I haven't done a full trim or got it professionally done but I did this for the first time in May, which was just "dusting" his ends to try and clean it up a bit. I only recently started blow drying his hair and I do it with either cold air or very very low heat so he never had any heat damage, or any other issues with his hair that would cause me to need to trim before this point. So it all does depend on your little one and the routine you've done so far, he may need a trim or he may just need a dusting - here's the video of what I did if you'd like to check it out:

In regards to the thinning it may be from too much tension or too much manipulation. Try keeping this protective styles in for a little longer (if you can), and use satin pillow cases or bonnets (don't let it sit on the perimeter of the hair or rub on it), also keep his hair hydrated so leave in sprays are nice but honestly just a spray bottle with some warm water and a little oil if you like or just warm water. Also, (if these don't irritate his skin) try some Jamaican Black Caster Oil and Peppermint Oil mixed together and put that on the perimeter of his hair and the scalp after wash day and lightly massage, to promote growth for his hair and thickness, the JBCO is great for thickness.
For the dryness and flakes on his scalp grease his scalp, something natural (like the Kuza brand that I use) or something just not too heavy/processed. Always after you wash his hair, also when you braid it put someone the parts, and just go over it maybe once a week after his hair is braided.
You can try using the EBIN New York Conditioning Gel (linked in my second most recent video) and I tried a new gel that I will talk about in my next upload so look out for that - it may help.
My biggest tips are hydration (water, water, water!), natural grease on his scalp, and no manipulation hairstyles that you leave in for awhile. Hope this helps! 💙
