Omg no way! We rarely find other kids with the same name so we love to hear it! Which style did you go with for his appointment? 💙
When I put the elastic after sectioning the hair on my son the section/braid like sticks out and looks kind of ridiculous idk. It doesn’t lay flat like when you do it. He is half white half black and his hair isn’t as thick and doesn’t appear as coarse as your son’s, but do you have any advice on this? 😭 I’ve done it without the elastic but it’s not as neat looking and doesn’t last as long. Idk what I’m doing wrong or if it’s just his hair type
@@karliedoscope Heyy 👋🏽 it may be how tight you’re wrapping the elastic. But also, where you’re placing the elastic in the section and on his head. When I add the elastic I’m keeping it centred but also a little low in the part itself because I was to make sure it falls down and doesn’t stick up or go straight up. So try putting the elastic a little more down in the section of hair when you’re adding it and that may help.
Also, make sure to brush or comb through after you’ve attached the elastic before you start braiding just to make sure all lumps and bumps are out and you have a smooth set of hair to work it.

About two weeks... longer if the hair doesn't look too bad! lol
I can't remember if I asked this before. Do you use the Shea Moisture Mango & Carrot leave in conditioner on your sons hair or something different? I haven't tried it. I do use the Shampoo.
Heyyy 👋🏽 I do use that when I can find it, I loveeeeee the shampoo! But if it's not in stock then I use the Cantu Kids conditioner. Both are great, using the shampoo and conditioner both from Shea Moisture is nicer since they're made to compliment each other but totally not necessary.
@@keepingupwithkham hi there!! Thank you for you reply. Do you put in a leave in conditioner. I didn’t see that they carry a leave in conditioner of that particular brand. I’ve used the Jamaican black castor oil leave in before on his hair or the Cantu Leave In conditioner.
@@shockabaity3338 I actually don't use leave in conditioner 😅I've tried on two separate occasions and two separate brands but it just doesn't work with his hair and he's seem to be fine without it. How is the JBCO leave in? Is it thick like the regular castor oil? I always hear good things about Aunt Jackies "Knot Havin' It" leave in (and my hair stylist friend uses this as well on her daughter), may be something you could look into 🤷🏽♀
