I haven’t done a real trim, I’ve done a mini one (you can watch that here vm.tiktok.com/ZM6Q1yo73/ ) but I have been thinking of giving him a trim, I think it’s time. But I definitely don’t wanna go the salon route yet, I’m just not ready 😩😂 so I’ll record the process at home and I’ll post it up so you can see what I do! 💙
Hey 👋🏾 😊… question for you… do you blow dry his hair after washing or just add products to his hair while it’s still damp and then style? My son is 4 and has a similar hair texture as Kham and I usually style his hair while it’s still damp but I’m not sure if it’s ok to continue doing that or if I should start blow drying it after washing instead… I notice alot of breakage when I take his braids out… Kham’s hair is full and healthy so I’m looking for some advice on that. Thanks! 🙏🏾
Hi! 👋🏽 If I need his hair blowdried for the style I'm doing then yes I'll blow dry after washing when it's damp and I used heat protectant and I apply the heat protectant (Chi Silk Infusions) in small sections and blow-dry in small sections as well. I don't tend to blow dry often though because I just don't want to add unnecessary heat to his hair to often. When styling his hair I usually wash/condition, add cream and oil (LCO method, I have other videos up if you're interested) and I let it air dry overnight and then I take the braids out the next day and braid/style on dry, stretched hair.
Braiding/styling your sons hair repetitively while still wet or damp may be causing him the breakage because the hair is so delicate when it's wet and it needs to get its strength back (drying with product) before heavy manipulation. I would recommend only doing twists on damp hair if you're interested in doing his hair while damp.
