    I’m a first time mom and I just found out I’m having a boy your channel is so helpful on styles for boys with curly hair. I’ve struggled finding a channel I really like that’s beginner friendly. I wanna learn as much as I can so when the time to do his hair comes I’m not just cutting it all off bc idk how to take care of it so thank you so much!💖

    Omg this look is so cute! My son and your son similar textures! When I get good at braiding on the scalp I definitely want to try this look on him.

    It is so funny that I watch you for hairstyling ideas for my little boy but I LITERALLY did this style on him yesterday minus the braids in the back but definitely the twist and ALL without even seeing this! Great minds think alike, I would send a photo if I could lol I can’t make this up! His hair is the exact same texture/length so your a great inspo since there aren’t a lot of creators with toddler black boys…so thank you for what you do 🙏🏾

    😍I love all of the styles you do! This looks so cute on him. How long is it meant to last?

    • @keepingupwithkham

      Thank you so much! 💙 This is a good style that could last two weeks or even 3-4 if you spritz the twists every day or every other day and put it up in a bun or ponytail.. you get like 2-3 different styles out of this and it's a greaaattt protective style to just do and forget about it and go.

    Omggg so lately seems like every jell I use flakes me up smdh,so now I have to use head&shoulder 😩. I like how shine&jam looks BUT lordd it makes me and my sons hair flake somewhat! I might try eco gel line again(only tryed one). I currently use cantu (which is good but lately makes me flake), and shine&jam.

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  2 роки тому

      Oh noooo! I can't stand the flakiness 👎🏽 You could try either putting your fave oil before or after you apply the gel and that may help to stop it from flaking 🤞🏽

    Also at night how do you have him sleeping to keep the style protected my son has an awesome bonnet but it keeps coming off at night as he thrashes around 😭 then in the morning his braids are all messy looking like it’s been a long time even though I just did them yesterday 😭 His hair is super fine probably 3B curl pattern and sometimes it’s hard for me to get it to stay in a style maybe it’s the technique I’m using I’m going to try to learn how to do twists and I’m definitely going to pick up the curl jam I been just using eco gel

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  2 роки тому +1

      Yesss try and pick up a pomade type of gel like the Shine n Jam because Eco is water based and it's just going to make the hair curl up more instead of keeping it flat/together. It could also be the technique a little bit but if you have the right gel product and try and use the comb or brush to make sure the hair is kept tight and together as you braid that can help with the longevity of the style as well. But as for the sleeping at night, we use a silk pillowcase for our overnight maintenance and then we use a durag if e need a little more help to keep a style fresh for a special reason; but the silk/satin pillowcase if our number one thing that helps with sleeping!

    What product can I use with the shine n jam for moisture besides the just for me?

      I would recommend Shea Moisture Kids Curling Butter Cream or Mielle Moisture Rx Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Hair Butter.

    good evening sorry if this is snooping i just wanted to ask if kham get any reactions for him to carry his hair braided to school.

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  2 роки тому

      Hi, no Kham doesn't get any reactions.. not negative or positive, to the people around him it's just hair so they'll say "your hair looks nice" but nothing special.

    @keepingupwithkham You have bad tendonitis. I had that before, but with the wrist part near the thumb. It lasted for 7 months. While it's still early, go and see a doctor so they can treat it with steroids of proper treatment. I promise you, it's not great to have that injury.

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much!! Honestly that's the same thing I was being told I have by the doctors but they haven't offered steroid treatment they just say take ibuprofen for the inflammation but that hasn't helped so 🤷🏽‍♀

    • @GoldenRNB
      @GoldenRNB 2 роки тому

      @@keepingupwithkham Hey, get it checked out again. They obviously missed something, because if that ligament snaps like that, it means it's really stressed and should be treated asap. Again, I had the same injury before and I'm telling you sis, you don't want it to last for the next 6-12 months.
      Mine went away after 7 months. A braider of your caliber should always have healthy and functional hands. I feel sorry for you and I really want you to heal as quickly as possible because I've been there before and it's quite a scary injury because there's a chance it could be a long-term injury for your tendons and joints.

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  2 роки тому +1

      @@GoldenRNB thank you for the advice 'cause I was on the fence about if it was even something that bad but clearly it is. I had something similar in my wrist like 2 years ago but it's now a different hand in my finger so it's probably going to keep coming back sadly 👎🏽

    I have such a hard time with the dang rubber bands breaking while I’m still styling 😭😭😭

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  2 роки тому +1

      Oh noooo! Yeah, I used to have that problem too but I realized I was using the wrong kind of rubber bands... that may be the same thing for you? If you look in the description you'll see the link for the type of rubber bands I use, even if you don't get the same brand you can get the same type (thin and textured; not the shiny thick ones).
      Hope this helps!
