2007-2011 Dodge Caliber with 1.8 / 2.0 / 2.4 engines ;
To do this, I recommend first removing the passenger side wheel well splash guard cover (aka inner fender liner) and the coolant (aka antifreeze) overflow bottle.

    It’s easier to remove the tensioner by removing the pulley first and then the bolts. I was able to replace just the pulley on my 2015. It’s just reverse threaded. Doing this again on another one I just picked up 👊🏻

    💯% it matters... Aluminum heads will warp if unbolted in the wrong way partly because of the hot-cold-hot cycle of the different metals and partly because of its own relative softness when compared to the super-hard cast iron and steel they're bolted to (and with) 30 years of Experience and making the mistake of not following the sequence has taught me that its more than worth the time to always do it the "proper way" according to the engineers that designed the motor I'm working on. And I'm positive that if you spent a month's pay ( total was $ 1,175 totalaftertheheads were bought, decked , ported & polished, and had the over-sized stainless valves and ceramic coating. ) to replace A nearly new set of high compression heads because you were too lazy to do it the way the book says YOU'LL NEVER DO IT ANY OTHER WAY AGAIN...... and if you do then you're a moron.

    Them kits are junk the tool to remove the pulley works fine after you make your own bolts the pins they supply don’t work they’re not long enough I used threaded bolts and rapped them with tape so I didn’t mess up the threads inside the crank I ha to make two different length bolts so the puller had something to press against and the installer is completely junk none of the supplied bolts fit the crank so just use the original bolt to put your pulley on

    7:45....OOOF using a 12 point for a hex bolt with 240ft pounds of pressure (factory). then unbalancing the balancer by sliding stuff thru it's balancing arms. you should have just bought a regular pulley instead of kidding you're self you're not going to destroy that engine.

    This is too much work! It's a lot easier to replace the gear with a steel one. There is a company that sells the new steel gear and a new motor for about $70. They have an excellent video on how to replace the motor and gear. Takes about an hour. They even sell a complete motor and gear assembly so you don't have to worry about how to get that silver gear cover off or rewiring anything. What you have there is a working mirror but still with a plastic gear that will eventually break again. @gruvenparts

    Awesome video. Didn’t have to remove the two 7 mm at the windshield that was for ducting that stays with the dash. I didn’t unplug anything on the drivers side really. Just unbolted steering shaft and shift cable and left the top bolt loose in place at the door opening. I just swing the passenger side of the dash like it was hinged and laid it on the centre console. I had more than enough room to get the hvac box out. The outside bolts were much easier with mine being a Duramax.
