Both of my mirrors broke after being folded a few times. I'm just gonna replace the fold motors in them that I've found on Amazon. I don't wanna buy a used mirrors cause those my have broken folding also.. you never know. Great tutorial video 👍
Good video. Thanks. I have a 2013 Avalanche. The passenger side quit folding. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to tackle it since I only need the drivers side to fold when pulling into my garage. But if I do thanks for showing how.
I just bought a 2011 Silverado that supposedly has electric folding mirrors. However the mirror controls do not have the two buttons that control the fold, just the mirror angle. Factory mistake?
Cool idea to harvest the power folding motor, my gear is broke in the power folding motor, and my mirror actuator will not move up and down, but they move left and right, I was looking to buy a new mirrors from GM for my 2008 Chevy Avalanche, 387 for the driver side, and 238 for the passenger side 😡, I can't find a set of mirrors that have all seven features that my truck has, so I'm thinking of doing what you did, just harvest the motor out of a cheap set of mirrors on Amazon or ebay, thanks for the video
So I’m having an issue finding the right near mine was hit at Walmart parking lot and everything I find on eBay is heated and only few have power glass Which is what I need mine are not heated. My question is can you use a heated mirror that has power glass if not any ideas on where I can find the correct mirror thank you so much for your videos.
so why not just use the glass with the turn signal and the teal painted cap on the new mirror with all new parts? why even waste time breaking down the new mirror for the motor (i get it, the whole assembly is cheaper than the motor) but why break it down?
This is too much work! It's a lot easier to replace the gear with a steel one. There is a company that sells the new steel gear and a new motor for about $70. They have an excellent video on how to replace the motor and gear. Takes about an hour. They even sell a complete motor and gear assembly so you don't have to worry about how to get that silver gear cover off or rewiring anything. What you have there is a working mirror but still with a plastic gear that will eventually break again. @gruvenparts
Thank you sir. Just did both motors on my suburban and after watching your video it was a walk in the park to do👍
Very good instructions. Thank you. Took about an hour to be done

How to check for power to the folding mirror motor.... Thinks in advance
You Homeboy are a smart guy.. thanks a bunch💪
Where did you purchase the power mirror with power folding cheaper than just the motor for the folding mirror?
Good useful content. Thanks 👍

I got mine from 1A auto.
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I took my motor apart, the plastic gear cracked :(
Good video for tech content, but the constant music is really annoying

This was discussed @13:46 in the video.
