I am in process of tearing one down right now and I seen you pulling all the valve springs out back then I used to pull heads a lot of times we pull valve springs and all out and I noticed that you pulled about springs off then
I was wondering the same thing I don’t see the use in doing that unless you’re using a delete kit with the cam of course you’d have to go with a bigger cam to use bigger springs
💯% it matters... Aluminum heads will warp if unbolted in the wrong way partly because of the hot-cold-hot cycle of the different metals and partly because of its own relative softness when compared to the super-hard cast iron and steel they're bolted to (and with) 30 years of Experience and making the mistake of not following the sequence has taught me that its more than worth the time to always do it the "proper way" according to the engineers that designed the motor I'm working on. And I'm positive that if you spent a month's pay ( total was $ 1,175 totalaftertheheads were bought, decked , ported & polished, and had the over-sized stainless valves and ceramic coating. ) to replace A nearly new set of high compression heads because you were too lazy to do it the way the book says YOU'LL NEVER DO IT ANY OTHER WAY AGAIN...... and if you do then you're a moron.
Can I do the heads without a complete teardown I'd like to replace to fix my lifter tick depending on what all I have to tear down
Excellent. Even though the music sounds like an 80’porno- good video/ explanation 👍

Yeah you don’t need to pull all those springs out. Just leave them in.
@@threeboysgarageso if i were to take the head off i wouldn’t need to remove the springs right? it’s just the bolts holding it on
@@Thegrbeast Correct, you can remove the head without taking the springs out.
