There's a difference between O gauge and O scale. O scale is for model railway's and O gauge is train go around Christmas tree.

So cool! These layouts are so diverse and superb. They give me some ideas for my layout, which I need to get going on the scenery. It was humorous to see you on that rotating pad, for sure. There are a number of O gauge UA-camrs that feature the Milwaukee Road and Wisconsin, in general. My dad was born and raised in Columbus, WI, in 1912 and was a Badger alum. I haven't been back since I was a little boy. I'll have to make the Pilgrimage next year. An excellent video, as always.

So I have the serial cable along with the SCR2 along with the USB adapter to make everything work, going to the base three I cannot figure out how to make a TCC engine or a legacy engine operate using the WTIU Has anybody figured this out yet?

When we first heard about this at the store we couldn't wait for the release. This is an awesome game changer for the hobby. We can't wait to get ours for the store and show everyone this is a must have device. Thank you so much for a great video and explanation. And you are right, we show kids they can run their DC trains from their phones and they become hooked on the hobby.

Thanks for sharing, nicely done. I’m still not happy with Mike Wolf and the debacle he put the company through. Thousands of people bought and supported MTH and for whatever reason he sold off the company to Lionel, Atlas. What was left the employees stepped and bought in on what was left of MTH. They saved the company.

interesting but I hope one day mth/atlas make dead rail locos that run on battery. no more track cleaning and no more electrical faults and you just re-charge the battery once it runs out.

Have the original DCS System along with the Lionel tmcc,works just fine for me but getting further away from the 3 rail O scale market,switching to more realistic G scale 2 rail using the Railpro battery system,and will be looking into the Blunami system since it will work on regular DC power.

I still don’t understand Mike Wolf’s deal. He had an o gauge company and he wanted to buy Lionel. I heard he even had Lionel on his mantel in stone. Then he sold his company but still has his company? Does he make and sell O, HO, DCC? It’s good to be focused.

This is fascinating. Where Lionel seems to have made the Base3 a closed system that only works with Lionel products, the MTH approach with the WTIU seems to welcome interoperability

Sticking with my old reliable DCS system. Easy to use compared to LIONEL'S system. Found it too confusing to operate. Both new operating systems will have bugs for some time. When my DCS fails going back to traditional transformer method that i grew up with in the early 1950's. Still have use of bell / whistle functions on transformer.

So I noticed they eliminated some of the movie dialogue from the previous version. I can’t get the annoying kid asking “do you know what type of train this is!?” Have you been able to get that sound?

I see what you mean, Steve-too much red. I ordered the legacy set and five add-on cars. I wish that they had different versions of the main set. So you have a choice of which engine you'd get with the set

Seeing the prismatic effect in the paint on that locomotive was amazing! The one item I would definitely have to silence is the repetitious announcement, it didn’t take long for that to get on my nerves. That was my only complaint, I likes the Christmas themed freight cars, those were a nice touch. .
