Get Better at Inline Skating // Three Tips
First thing an aggressive skater always does when trying big wheels is jump on a ledge or box lol every damn time hahaha
Did you tie them as tight as you could while heatmolding?
best vid on this i've seen yet
I have a few months using these. I really love them. Great for Wizard and have a really nice sound when you ride.
Did 64mm fit on Salomon?
I have the FR UFR AP boot and looking to get these frames, they have a xl 280mm frame now and my boot is the 45-46EU, would you recommend 270 or 280mm? I'm planning to get another frame for grinding, but also looking at doing ramps/gaps (exactly what you were doing in the video)? thanks
What's the max wheel size you could use on the SL's without adapting the boot?
Thanks for the review!
I'm just going to post this here in the hope that someone far more educated on the subject of frames can help me out. I'm looking for new 80mm frames and obviously most come in different length options. I ride CJ2's in the larger EU44 shell, and so it seems the recommended length/wheel base is around 270mm. Most frames seem to come in a slightly shorter length of around 240mm, so I'm wondering how much of a difference it actually makes in relation to boot size? I ask because I find the smaller wheel base appealing, and the difference in shell length between sizes seems minimal, so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience skating a larger boot on either or both frame lengths. I should probably qualify this by saying that of course I'm aware you're ALLOWED to put whatever frame you want on any shell size (assuming mount is correct!), it's more a SHOULD you kind of question. Thanks
@@mattyoung7415 so it depends what you want from your skating experience. A shorter frame gives you short, sharp turns and loads of precision at low speed but provide far less control and stability once you crank it up a notch and are rubbish for long distance. I personally way prefer longer frames as they are a better all round option and I like to do gaps and skate distance on my skate sessions. The difference between a 240 and a 280 8s actually pretty significant particularly with your foot size being on the larger side. I would reccomend a longer frame unless you want that low speed short, sharp turns or want to skate cones
@chrischadwick1 Thanks, Chris. This has basically been the answer I've been looking for. I very much appreciate your taking the time. Cheers
Brilliant thank you!
🤓🤓🤓
these frames feel great and i was just cavemaning it. im waiting on my 58s in the mail.hopefully theyre here tomorrow i really want to skate these frames more, im coming from skating anti rocker for a long time so i think im really going to enjoy the hell outta these lolol
update. rollerwarehouse hooked it up with some usd wheels for 14$ cuz i just ordered the generic 58s and im never going back to anti rocker. its so nice being able to turn hahaha fuck anti !!!!1
Whats tye biggest standout difference between the two? Which do you like more? Lastly and most importantly do you think the frame is too tall like the frame height to soul plate width ratio is kinda unbalanced as opposed to other combinations? Do you think it’s hard for you to sit into your grinds with the frame being taller? I know you’re experienced so you can adjust better than others but yeah.
@@wanya0got0it0goin0on I would probably base your choice on foot size as much as anything. I think the original is better for foot size US 10 and up and medium is probably better for the smaller sizes. I also did a comparison between the two frames on another video on my channel so check that out too ua-cam.com/video/iuJtl8ZHJrg/v-deo.htmlsi=DS7tfmPVxhJOPuUs
@@chrischadwick1 I’ve seen the other videos and which it is why it took me by surprise that you went back to classic. Do you think it’s cheating if it has a huge HBlock? Do you think the frame height his too big for locking in groove tricks? I have both… I like the idea that I have to have more precision with the medium. But I feel more connected with the classics but I feel like since it’s super easier to hit tricks that it would make me lazy to aim for the best technique.
Had my first sesh on the oysi today and found royales more difficult because the H block isn’t as deep as my Kaltiks so trying to rest on the backslide plate for grinds will take a bit of getting used to. Felt nice for topside tricks though
I always found the natural boot groove the perfect shape for locking into backslides or royales, never been a fan of big backside plates can't bone my feet properly.
II bought the very first ST9 in coffee and white frames, upgraded from a pair of Out Daisies which were like plastic wellies in comparison. The skate was a game changer, picked up a 2nd pair of st9s in white with blue frames once those wore out, best skate ever.
Are these still your best wheels? How do they compare to the rollerblade hydro's?
Not tried the hydrogens but I've heard nothing but good things. And yeah still definitely reccomend undercover 👍
I personally prefer metal frames myself, but I skate a ton of park. I have solas, flat frames, adapt aluminums and 5050 prime frames. They all have their purpose and size differences and what not, great for different things and all so fast and responsive. Defintiely harder shock but not really a problem skating park with shock absorbers
i feel like roller blading is about to make a big comeback. with baggy pants back in style it just makes sense lol. when i first say 'tom pretty' on screen, my brain said 'tom penny roller blades?"
I run 90mm revolvers and I love 'em! Great price, great quality, love the revolver barrel logo, sweet wheels! <3
I love bs royales, especially Soichiro Kanashima’s… he has such a nice style & flow ☺️Also another of my favourites is a zero spin down a stair set (or any gap for that matter). They’re not the hardest move ever but they always look (& feel) so good!
Great video, man. I am 49 and I've been skating since 1994. I agree with all you said. I've been living in Taiwan for the past 18 years and we are fortunate to have lots of great street skating spots and skate parks here. I prefer street skating, but once in a while, I do go to a skate park. Whatever place you pick enjoy it and have fun
Thanks mate. Stoked you enjoyed it!
I discovered these a year ago and been using them since. I tried expensive Undercover wheels but also the cheapest powerslide wheels and Revolver has been the best in terms of value for money. Love them ! 90mm last me couple of months (wearing down to 82mm) with 40miles per week of skating in London with varying surfaces many of which are rough because they cant stick with one or two type of asphalt in here, no we need 10 types 😅
Yeah agreed man. Perfect balance of price and performance. I feel you on that asphalt. UK ground is not the best for distance skating!
Thx
I'm 34 and I do street skate 👀 the only skate park near me is not begginer friendly. I'm not exactly a beginner I did this 15 years ago but it's been such a long time I'm kind of starting back at the basics and I find the skatepark to be overwhelming although I do find potholes and the blind markers to be a challenge when I first got back out there. The blind markers have made me crash more than once haha
Welcome back. Thanks for stopping by 😊
That is strange re: Hydrogen wheels. In the states they are usually around the same price as these, 30USD, and are a great value performance.
Great channel mate,
Thank you 😊
Smoooooooooooooth!
Interesting, ill have to check them out once current ridder wheels die, but not gonna lie the ridder wheels def have me wanting more square profiles
what wrist guards and helmet do you use?
Currently using a protec full cut helmet and the enui urban glove. www.locoskates.com/products/ennui-urban-glove
I've had a good experience with Revolver wheels as well. I'm really eager to try the metal-core wheels as it would be awesome to have a more affordable option than Undercover and Famus. I think someone should make a smaller diameter metal-core wheel. A flat 56-58 setup would still be pretty fast with metal-core wheels.
Yeah that would be dope. Maybe a gap in the market 🤔
@@chrischadwick1 I think so. I mean, that's where you could *really* use the speed after all. It would be like an equalizer. Plus, you could do 64/58 in Oysi frames and it would be super quick.
Wouldnt metal core be more proane to permament damage. Such small diamater is only good for agressive skating with lot of frequent impacts. 🤔
Personally, I don’t think so. I skate a lot of metal-core wheels from Undercover (I’ve used 68, 64 and 60) and have never had an issue.
thats weird RB hydrogen wheels at 60mm have always been super cheap for me on roller warehouse, actually cheaper than the revolver wheels. They are only 29 dollars for a set of 4, with free shipping when revolver wheels are also 29 dollars but cost 17 dollars to ship lmao. I'm not sure how rollerwarehouse is able to offer free shipping always no matter what, but it makes the decision easy lol
might be a US thing, the RB wheels over this side of the pond are super expensive at £60+ for 4 of the current range that is, that come shipped on the blanks.
@@lewisbloom I just looked into it and its because the hydrogen wheels are actually poured in the usa, that makes alot of sense lol I'm trying dead wheels next because I'm not happy with the hydrogen durability
That is odd. They're super expensive here. Are they as good as everyone says?
I've had mine for 1year and 6months and I've been doing a lot of street skating, wizard skating and slalom skating and it has been the most durable wheels I've ever used. Its gone from 90mm to about 70mm in the front and still about 80 to 84mm 3rd and 4th wheels unlike other wheels I've used, it starts chopping off or breaking. For me Revolver wheels are absolutely premium at a very great price.
Absolutely agree mate. Such a good all rounder. Glad you've shared my positive experience
Completely agree with you, im running them currently anti rocker and they are wearing very fast, they grip super well though. Ive noticed that they keep your speed but i dont think they make me faster
Yeah agreed. Great for grip but not too soft to ride flat if that's your jam
Im 41. im too old to be interested in handrails and getting kicked off or moaned at . I'd rather go to a local skatepark nice and early when it's quiet. Do a few grinds on the box here and there not bothering anyone nice and chill.
Yeah totally get that Dave. Nothing beats a chill session at the local 👌
They are not cheap anymore 😂
Hey Chris good to see you on UA-cam bro. This is Shel, we used to skate together years ago. Now living in New Zealand and pastoring a church out here. Still skate super occasionally but mainly park!
Hey mate, thanks for stopping by! Great to hear you're doing well. I absolutely love NZ. Hope to make it back one day

I like it a lot, good skating, good filming!
Thanks mate 🤙
No pun intended but I oyshi I never bought 72s for my wish (original) frames BECAUSE riding fifth elements - I had to dremel and basically ruin the soul plates, yet they are so slow because their still be rubbing against ever so slightly even after I damaged my soul plates pretty badly that I don't want to try removing any more from them anymore ... So I switched them back to the stock flat 60s, and the wysh frames are collecting dust.
Nice! Cant wait to get some skates to go out there and try this out. Been 20 years since ive been on a skate : ) Pitty no stores carry many skates where i am. So hard to figure out what to buy with online only shopping.
I have not been able to find any place that has this skate in my size in stock. There must have been a run on them.
Locoskates have the rollerblade RB80 in most sizes which is the same skate 🤙
Locoskates also have the cruiser in most shell breaks

Much thanks to guys like you for keeping the scene alive. Also I recognise most of the places in this video as I'm in the Norwich area.
Hey, that's awesome. Definitely get back I to it. Plenty of people in their forties and fiftys are still shredding.
