Thanks man. Trying out my gopro to speed things up. Sadly I don't think I'm going to be able to skate them as they're a bit narrow for me around the 5th toe. Might try some kind of heat moulding if I dare 🤣
@@chrischadwick1 That's good news for me. They may actually work for my standard to narrow foot. I have also been shooting more on GoPro lately. It's so much less distracting when trying to focus on riding and shooting.
Got mine a couple of days ago and have been really impressed. I even managed to downsize quite drastically (I got the 40.5/41.5 intuition version, fits like a dream!! Although I have very thin feet so it managed to work out fine. Also, I heat molded the liners which helped). Looking forward to trying them with my wizard frames. Only qualm is that I think they could've optimised the ride height a tad more. Filled in a bit of the mold and made the bottom of the boot similar to that of the m12 or Them shell rather than having two mounting points sticking out. It's a raised heel boot anyway, just think their could be a slightly better design maybe. Still, I'm enjoying it a lot
Yeah agreed they do look a bit tall with that mount. I havnt owned a pair of FR's before eo I can't tell if it's just the soul plate that converts it to UFS or the base of the boot is changed too.. I'll be interested to see how they feel with my 4x90 NN's too for sure
Ah sadly I had to send them back in the end! I got the next size up but still too narrow. Loco Skates have done a good review if your looking for insights from someone who has skated them 👍
I have the same issue with width. I stretched the width of a shell slightly with a hair dryer and a 100mm wide caster wheel and hair dryer And it worked wonders. I also use the second skin liner or a very heat molded intuition. Like you i skated an adapt made with extra width. But found with a quick fix i was able to get enough width out of the boot. I ordered two she'll sizes of these the 42 shell and the 43 44 shell. The difference in length is huge.
@@chrischadwick1 yeah. If the jump is as big as from the 9 to 10 she'll then you may. The stock liners fills a lot of room. Also i didn't notice the height. If you look by where the side protector is, it's not that tall. I think the toes come up a bit like an m12 and it's more deceptively tall then it is actually tall. I had a lot of doubts about this skate but it's a really well designed skate
I'm about to go out and take mine out for their first spin. I'm throwing some big wheels on as the boot almost seems perfect for it being developed from the freeskate. In regards to the width, I have a slighty slimmer than average width foot myself and they feel quite average to me. I did go up half a size from my normal size 9 UK but I am glad I did because I don't think they would have fit me comfortably. Hope you get the fit issues sorted mate and keep up the good content!
Thanks man! Yeah I sent them back and have found an 11-12 instead. Evenings they don't fit the intuitions will definitely work for me. Fingers crossed for the Shells. I'm stoked to try these with big wheels too. They should be perfect as an urban skate 1🔥
I've got the completes in a 9 (foot is more 8.5 but wide) and they fit perfectly. I think the intuition edition has smaller shells with the thinner liners per size? I've been very happy with them so far anyway.
The Intuition Version is not as wide as the standard because they are in a downsized shell. If i remember correctly my size 40.5-41.5 FR Intuition are a 40 shell and my 41 Standard FR are the 42 shell, so 2 shell sizes difference in width.
Hi there Great vid as always! I also have and love the FR UFR skates and yes they are very very underpriced if you ask me - all three versions! About the width of the skate: you bought the intuition Liner version which means that you are not skating your normal shell size as the intuition liner version always comes with one Celsius smaller than the normal Liner version would come so let’s say for example do you have an intuition Liner 40 1/2 up to 41 1/2 that means you’re a Skating the shell 39/40 not 41/42! That might be the reason why you are so underwhelmed by the width!
Are they have the same size of liners for UK9.5 - 10 and UK10.5 - 11 (same shell size)? I've tried on both sizes in the store - they fit very similar on my 280 mm foot, but I have not compared liners of different sizes separately.
Unfortunately I pre-ordered the intuition boot and was sent the wrong size. They no longer have the size I originally ordered so they are sending me some white thems. Maybe I'll pick the fr up if they ship more out later.
I'm skating these with 5x80 NN Dragon frames and Reign V3 Liners. I like the stiffness and responsiveness but they're a very wide skate by my standards, though I do have very narrow feet. I've had to make a number of adjustments to make them work for me. Out of the box the fit was quite bad. My main aggressive skate is the Eugen Shadows and given that they fit quite literally like a shoe, I think they may have ruined the fit and feel of any other skate for me in comparison haha.
These are my first FRs, but I hear the shell is less rigid than the FR1. I'm loving these with the Wizard NR90 so far, but would be interested in a comparison nonetheless!
I have had maybe 5-6 FR skates over the years (I mainly free skate) and I think that all the modern FR skates are softer and flexier. But compared to other aggressive skates they are pretty stiff. Hope that helps.
@Keep Rolling it’s been a couple months now. Did you figure out the width issues? I am looking for the best aggressive skate for my 10.5 US (44) foot that requires a 4E wide Nike. You mentioned you were underwhelmed with the width and I’m curious if you found a liner that opened them up, or if they loosened up for you after you rode them a while. Thanks!
Hey mate, I havnt skated them yet. Been mega busy recently. The plan is to try and heat mould the liner and the shell as a bit of an experiment and see if it works. It might break the shell but I'm willing to risk it!
@@chrischadwick1 you’re blowing my mind right now. I’m going to take a heat gun to the shell of my Sebas with my foot and a thick sock inside and see if I can change the shape by a little bit! The worst that can happen is I ruin them and I’m out the $75 I could have sold them for. Thanks for the idea!
@@thebossone haha I make no promises it will work. I know 30&Rollin made a video about heatgunning pressure points which might be helpful, but ive never tried it before. Good luck!
I'd like to buy the intuition version. My normal size is EU39. Foot length is 24.5. According to the chart I should have 39-40. My feet are not wide. Do I need to downside to 37-38? Or just pick the right size? Greetings from China.
Hey man difficult to advise you on this as mine just don't fit me well. They're too narrow. I would say they fit roughly one size small. If in doubt contact your skateshop.
Given that they use the same or very similar to THEM version of the 3rd party liner and my own experience with them making the shell seem alot smaller than it actually is I do wonder if you maybe had the right shell and it was just the liner itself making it seem smaller than it is. For example my size 8 blank liner fits in my THEM Ridders better than the size 7 liner the skates come with.
Are these skates tight? I have pretty wide feet and size 48 Iam looking to buy these skates in 47-48 but iam not sure... Do the oysi frame also fit with this pre-grooved soul plate?
Hey man, I would say these are medium wide. Certainly not narrow but not as wide as a razors SL or a salomon skate. I have very wide feet and sadly I sent them back as they were too narrow for me. Hope that helps. I havnt put a oysi frame on I would feel confident the oysi medium would fit with 65s. If you were riding oysi large on 72/60 I wouldn't be surprised if you needed a bit of extra dremeling
Hey, I have the 47-48 with the big oysi frame 72-60mm wheels. Works perfectly. No cutting in the soul needed. Tried them out today for the first time. Feels like my first decent aggressive skate.
I'm not 100% sure on that one. I think they modified the boot as well as the soul plate. I don't think the souls are available atm. I'm sure a skate shop would be happy to answer that for you for definite.
The soul plate is not compatible with the FR1, because the UFR heel mount has been built up to be flat with the front mount to accept UFS frames, so the soul plate is also flat.
So now I have a dilemma. I have some old trs Down towns. I actually love the way the y look and skate but... I have some hot spots I cant seem to fix on one foot, Used a hot air gun but the skinned skate kinda keeps its shape and I cant take the skin off without taking the cuff off wich is riveted in. . I don't actually like the look of the FR but everything else about it seemed perfect to fix my skate dilemma but ten I see this video and now I'm scared to pull the trigger. I guess my big question is who has more toe box space. FR UFR or RB BLANK? And Are the RB blanks similar in dimension older RB skates like the TRS downtown? Best wishes. I just want a comfy skate to have fun in and hit some grind but also get some cardio because I'm getting older and fatter... TY
