i hate those, that stupid car always beats me
Yeah the used to beat me when I was first learning lol
I remember making my test drive on those roads early 2010s
Wasn't that an 18V Milwaukee vs. a 14.4V Snap On? Though I did just watch another video comparing the 12V Milwaukee with the 20V Snap On and the Milwaukee just barely won.
I own the chief. Chief is OK a start with. I still would rather have a Snap On air hammer for variable trigger, feature.
If that’s a Tundra it’s either a 4.6 or a 5.7. The 4.7s are timing belt driven.
4.7 uses a timing belt. Not a chain
Came here to say this. This is not my engine lol
I must have fat fingered the key pad and didn’t realize. Yes it’s a 5.7 with a timing chain
Where do you buy the mighty vac at in the question
Great way to get a ticket or if the officer is feeling spunky jail
Aside from driving like a jackass and scaring passing drivers, he did use his blinker.
That “test” scared the crap out of oncoming traffic sir
This is a dealer auto mall where most the people on the road are other techs from different dealerships. We all use this back road for this purpose
I prefer Milwaukee but comparing 18v and 14v isn’t a fair competition
Management is not steady in the industry. They come and go as much as the technicians. You can’t tie your horse to anybody in the business. There are brands of vehicles where almost all work is warranty and being paid at reduced time rates. This guy is young and dumb. Just wait until you get older in this business because you are screwed. Your body gets worn out and your ability to keep pushing yourself hard becomes impaired. I would avoid this career. Sure you can make money at times but often times it’s incredibly inconsistent. You can’t count on anything as everyday is an adventure and every week your balls will be busted no matter how skilled you are. You could make 32 hours on Monday and by Friday your chances of booking 43 hours for the entire week is still high. Picking up after hours side jobs becomes a necessity rather than a bonus and over time that just adds more problems than it alleviates. There are many other trades that are a better career choice to you reach retirement age. Nobody in the automotive service department management gives a flying fig about you, your needs or how much money you are making. It’s always all about them.
How new is that snap on? It’s not that new is it
Yeah. My CT761 is 3 years old and my CT861 is 1.5 years
Have been a tech for 40 years, flat rate is the only pay program that the more you know the less money you make, better off to play stupid, and get the easy work.
Where was the leak from
They ended up telling me they did front brakes at the dealer and I haven’t found a leak since so I’m willing to bet they compressed the pistons and the brake fluid rose up and spilled out from the top of the cylinder and spilled all over looking like a leak. That’s why I believe in cleaning first and then diagnosising, esp when it comes to leaks
No one’s makin tool hauls like this. Good stuff👍👍
Thank you! Appreciate it!
ALL MECHANICS ARE CROOKS!
Harbor Freight is where it’s at, absolutely killer box for a fraction of what you’d pay from bigger brands.
"heat rings" pretty sure thats just called glazing. Not really seeing any "heat" related damage. Only way to tell is to throw it on the lathe and start turnin'
*Customer Declined Repairs*
They purchased new rotors and got them back on the road
@@BustedKnucklesGarage1 Typically they decline lol
@jasonnava1379 yeah they do
The customer update: Did I say squealin, Oh I meant screaming, sorry😊
lol 😂
Better do a brake flush, too. The fluid has gotten so hot that it's going to have broken down way too much, and the lines could end up failing at some point from it.
Very good point
Depending on how hygroscopic they are they would be fine. Just check the life of it but highly doubt it will affect any to little of the fluid.
Just to be safe you should recommend complete vehicle replacement.
I lost that clip tool and its discontinued… im in shambles 😢
Yes sir it’s my favorite for sure
I need power in my power tools The surge doesn’t even have power😂
A guarantee for 80...? What in the. Never hear of no 80hour guarantee is weekly or biweekly?
Bi weekly. 40 a week
The flat rate system ruined the auto repair industry
It's like you guys snap on if you want tools that will last and you can pass down to next generation so even if they don't perform the best in all areas
6" Bahco is China. Spend $1 more for the 8" and made in Spain (Snap-on) per Amazon.
The new Milwaukee M12 stubby is 550 lbs instead of 250 lbs. Milwaukee for the win every time!!!
Save your money and don’t buy snap on anything and stay off the tool trucks only thing worthwhile on them is Mac RBRT and making payments on Milwaukee tool and payments on tool boxes
Wild. I hate fixing cars anymore
Nice bro do you have any good or bad experiences warrantying stuff off the tool truck
I’ve had no bad warranty experience with any tool trucks at all. I also use the tool for the job so my tools don’t really break. I’ve had only had bad experience where I had to wait a very long time for a tool to come back and they didn’t even fix it right the first time
Hmm try that with the Milwaukee 3/8” mid torque gen 3 m18 not the compact you’re showing. The mid torque I have is basically a 1/2” compact with a 3/8” anvil it’s a beast. I have some snapon stuff too but their electric impacts and ratchets suck and they’re expensive.
Well, glad to see at least one of us young guys are doing well in this industry. I went in with a similar attitude to yours, but the industry made it clear it doesn't want me. I'm relieved I left, huge weight off my shoulders after 5 years of "GET IT IN, GET IT OUT!" and the subsequent disrespect on a daily basis from customers and co-workers. After buying all my tools I left broker than when I joined. I'm also in Cali, but always declined flat rate pay. I saw how it literally changed the minds of techs around me to start cutting corners on repairs and use parts-cannon. Sometimes I had to fix their comeback mistakes cause I was hourly so I can mentally be in the zone with the repairs, unlike flat rate. Auto shops that I DIDN'T EVEN APPLY for call me to offer me a job, but I'm desperately looking for other trades to work for instead. I'll rejoin the industry when it crashes, burns, and reforms, but for now my dream of Auto Tech is dead.
In earnest, no I don't think it's worth being a Tech in 2024. In fact, I think we should all collectively stop working for Shops/Dealers till the general population and Industry leaders feel the chaos of what happens when we stop abusing ourselves like this.
Great clip lots of good info
Thank you!
Good job man
Thank you!
The new m12 3/8 & 1/2 550 torque stubby is going to be amazing. Can't wait to get them.
Slow down
12volts vs 18volts
The new gen 2 stubby has 550 pounds of breakaway torque on the m12 battery
Yeah I just read about that new gen 2
Milwaukee
Only if the video wasn’t in fast forward would be nice
I'd have the SO over the Milwaukee. 5 years ago, I would have voted Milwaukee, but all of their recent offerings seem to be all marketing, little performance. Put little weight into warranty, and use the tool that works for you. Remember, you can't use a tool when it's out for warranty repairs.
I’m a DIY and buy tools as I need to work on my own rides. Just bought the 42” series 3 in green and don’t have very many solid tools. I see that I have thousands and thousands of dollars to go, but I’ll never get there because I’m not a pro mechanic lol phew!
lol. Yeah it gets real expensive real quick
@@BustedKnucklesGarage1 currently taking all my loose crap that I bought or gained over the years, random Allen’s and random bits and whatnot and tossing it all out. Figure if I replace them they will be purchased in full sets rather than individually to be lost within the sauce somewhere. 2 storage bins worth of crap so far.
@BEAZY_5150 good idea. I like things in sets and organized. If it isn’t as you said, it’s very easy to get lost
@@BustedKnucklesGarage1 or thrown into a tote because I didn’t have a roll away (lol) and take literally an hour to find a wrench. That’s so damn frustrating! Kept the “decent” stuff, ditched the rest. Random screws nuts and bolts that turned into a witches brew of bullshit. No name brand wrenches, El Cheapo cutters that didn’t cut, all of it..gone lol I’m a grown man damn it! lol first time in my life ever walking into a harbor freight was yesterday to pick up my box, I mean come on lol I foresee lots of money to be spent on cool shit now.
Hell yeah!! That’s a nice set up man!!! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you. I appreciate it!
Dude you know why you bought both because one don’t have any power to it other not a snap on
The Milwaukee isn’t mine. I’ve used one before so I know how both perform. I borrowed a co workers to make this short
@@BustedKnucklesGarage1 😮
@FernandoAcosta-dx5kh I used to own a Milwaukee stubby 3/8 and sold it because I didn’t like it and just stuck to my snap on guns
@@BustedKnucklesGarage1 I had snap on and change over to Milwaukee only because my dealer went out of business so for a while, we didn’t see a Snap On guy so I just said fuck let’s give them a chance now that I got them I honestly don’t miss them but still
I guess Price has nothing to do with it either then?
Maybe not for everyone. I’m ok paying a high price for quality and something that will last
Throw a forge battery on the Milwaukee and it’ll beat the snap on.
Where did you lift the engine up from? Crank pulley?
Good tip! Wow so the water pump was clunking? Did it have wobble play?
Yeah it had a lot of wobble play
