How To Test Your Vehicle’s Charging System (Battery, Alternator, Serpentine Belt)- DIY & Basic Tests

These tests are for DIY and meant to help people save money rather than paying for a diagnosis. These tests may not be definitive due to other charging and electrical components such as fuses and relays, and further tests would need to be performed such as a parasitic draw test and/or for any other hidden causes.
Another issue may be your starter, which starts your vehicle, and isn’t necessarily part of your charging system.
I am a beginning Toyota tech trying to teach everyone else the tips and tricks I’ve learned, to help people save money and learn about their vehicles for free.
