- This box is designed for a Toyota technician but many sizes and tools shown in this video are also universal for many other manufacturers. I hope this helps and shows anyone that may be starting out what you need and don’t need right off the bat to save some money and have the right tools to get the job done!
Solid setup! This was my setup as a C tech before I left the industry.
Would like to see the boxes of various levels of techs. Like 2 year apprentice, 5 years, 10, etc
Great idea!
Shop has good taste lol. I like the picture idea to keep track of the tools
@almightyracing yeah it’s good idea! And I’d say they have good taste as well
What shop y’all at?! I was on my own in terms of tools and storage😭
Were u getting paid double min wage?
If your in southern California Moreno vally Toyota are letting anybody that wants to be a tech can learn there they can't find nobody that wants to work for them 😂😂😂
Man I’ve been applying to all the dealers in riverside might ass well go Wednesday now to apply
I love you this was great very helpful I love you
Do u guys have line tech that don’t know how to diag?
I just bought this toolbox on face book for 150
Don’t BE TECH. don’t pay
Are you flat rate?
No retire bad back working on cars
@@hawkeye123100 oh okay. I guess it does depend on location and what dealer. I work at a high volume Toyota dealer in Northern California and get payed pretty well.
@@hawkeye123100 but you’re right it does take a toll on your body for sure. I’m 10 years in and my body feels it.
This a very poor arrangement - basic tools but no flow to layout of tools… box is way to small for expansion too, wider boxes are more useful by far. 60-72inch are perfect. Have your box layout methodical, Keizer foam for organising and rail racks will help loads.
But if you want to be in a trade where you make big money like gas and electricians then don’t be a technician / mechanic as pay just isn’t that anywhere close to the other trades and you need to know more as tech
Back in the day like 2000’s when I started wrenching plenty of old school established techs had the tall skinny craftsman tool boxes shaped like this and did fine. I like the double bank boxes too but everything comes in foam trays and blow molded cases now which is what needs so much extra space.
Well he did say that the box and 80% of the tools are provided by the shop. So the tech had no say on the box if the shop provides it for their Lube techs only.
I'm assuming that when the tech moves to being a line tech instead of a Lube tech he'll have to provide his own box and tools for those jobs which means he'll have the chance to organize his own tools in his own box.
But I get what you're saying. I hate having disorganized drawers and tools lol
@nicholaszavala6991 yes when the tech moves to the line he has to get his own box and his own tools. He will obviously move the tools he has currently in the provided box to his own box and give back the provide box to the shop for the next lube tech
Slow down
