I don‘t think it‘s possible to keep its softness over time as it‘s supposed to dry out and get harder in the end 🤔 If it would stay soft it would be more like a squishy. But after a quick google search I found some people who cover foam clay with different mediums to keep the squishyness for some time :) Maybe look for „Foam Clay Squishy“

No I actually almost never seal them because I love the texture of foam clay when it‘s dry 😊 It‘s kinda fuzzy and also easy to clean - you can just brush or blow the dust off :) I have a video where I destroy foam clay, there you can also see the sturdiness and texture of dried pieces 😊

I think keeping them in a frame or somewhere where they are more protected is important. If they get a bit moist again they loose their shape if the flower is more delicate (speaking from experience 🥲) But now after some years these flowers still look nice, some colors last better than others (yellow tends to turn a bit more brown over time) and I treated them VERY badly 🙈

I use they Foam Clay from BOHS Toys :)

I actually tried that recently, it kinda helped keep the clay more soft so it doesn‘t crack while forming it 😊👌 great idea

I store a lot of my foam clay in the original packaging, but the edges tend to dry out sometimes. What works best for me is to first wrap it in plastic wrap and then put it in a container or plastic bag together with more foam clays wrapped in plastic wrap. Then they tend to stay more moist (but not too moist otherwise mold can build up) And I actually didn‘t try alcohol markers yet 🙈 I hope this helped 😅

I think it could work less well if there is too much air in there and because you can‘t knead it 🤔 did you try it? :)

Or you could decorate a picture frame :)

UV will not damage glass. Windows shield us from UV every day :)

yes thats right, glass would be no problem 😊 For the foam clay I usually use Super Glue (the really strong one in the tiny tubes) if I want to attach it to something else. But for foam clay on foam clay you either need nothing (the brand I use just sticks together) or a tiny bit of water :) Thank you so much for the compliments 🥰

how big is your foam clay piece? :) I think the drying time also depends a lot on humidity and temperature at your place. for small pieces I sometimes wait a week and for bigger ones even longer before I cover it with resin 😊

I put the UV resin under the light for about 3 minutes each side (because I‘m a bit clumsy I like to make sure it‘s cured well before i put it somewhere) then I leave it out for a day by the window then it‘s also not sticky anymore :)

no, it‘s a looot lighter and softer than polymer clay :) like dense, heavy styrofoam. But it airdries!
