Is it uncomfortable for the passenger?

I just got my 21' SDR. My trip 1 data showing 54 mpg. Average speed 52 mph. I'm a daily commuter and my ride to and from work are highways/motorways with no traffic. I am just feeling the bike out and not ripping it so that might be a contributing factor. I'm interested in finding out what other rider's are getting to see if this is a fluke or real world range and efficiency.

How do you block out your speed on the screen? Are you blocking it out manually when you edit the video or does it do it for you and sometimes doesn’t work? (If that makes sense)? Do you use an app or something?

Some one described the indicator switch as being like a loose tooth, my personal h8 is the headlight switch, every time my hand goes to the buttons i turn on the headlight without knowing, its the wrong way round

I'm buying one to try it out, going to add a better mattress and sleeping bag. Already own that so no extra cost. Going to bring a Rab Siltarp 3 to add exterior space, this is more useful than having a large sleeping area for one person.

I bit the bullet and just purchased this tent (or swag, which it actually is). However, I will get rid of that foam mattress. I am pretty sure if this is replaced by an inflatable mattress, it will pack down smaller. I do not care about it being retro or not, this will be strapped onto a Yamaha Tracer anyway. However, I hope it will do its job well, as advertised. I will try to mount onto a cot, we will see how that works. Since we own a canvas house tent (car camping only), I really struggle with sleeping in a nylon or polyester tent. So canvas it is. I have been looking at swags for quite some time now, but the ones I like are not available here (Germany). IMO, this is a good alternative. The only thing I do not like is that you have to buy the mattress and the sleeping bag, even if you do not want it. These could very well be an option, and they could offer items for different temperature ratings. Heck, even mattresses for different body types or preferences. Now THAT would be truly luxurious.

personally the one thing that holds me back from going to ktm is the stories about poor reliability and the fact that they charge you extra for things that you already paid for while they are installed on the bikes already. It really gives the feeling that they only care abt number of sales and not their customers. I hear that now in the uk they go for 4 years of guarantee for the sdr (dont quote me though), apparently they are trying to get rid of the stock to make room for the new sdr... . I think 3 years should be minimum for all bikes, i agree with you, its like they dont trust the quality of their own work and parts which is never a good sign. Beautiful bike, ride safe.

Great Bike, really expesive though. How is the fuel / millage like ?

Went from MT10 to Gen3, loved the MT10, 100% RELIABLE over 30,000 miles. I changed the rear shock for an Ohlins, which transformed the handling, but I won't be needing to do that with the KTM. Love the KTM, but it's let down by the poor quality or design of some components, amazing performance though.

It's a nice tent, packs really big for the size tho. I think a Stormbreak 3, good sleeping bag and a air pad would back smaller. Also the sleeping bag would be warmer, more room in the tent. I'm not completely sold on the Wingman, I would still like to own one to try it out 😅 I guess the cool factor is a good selling point

Did you fit a spacer on one of the bolts behind the left heel plate? Also did you fit a spacer between the silver brake lever peg and the arm? The instructions isn't that clear :/

I watched the whole video and saw how the system works, that is great thank you ! I wonder now that is has been 3 years since this video if maybe KTM updated this some more or maybe if it is still the same they will upgrade it for their new engine platforms next year when we have the new superduke 1390 engine and the new duke 990 engines. Perhaps then we will see full map navigation like you have in cars on the new motorcycle displays instead of just/only turn by turn arrows/signals like it seems to be right now

I started on a 790 duke and had no problems. As long as you phase in and don’t try and thrash the shit out of it without practice you’ll be fine.

What would be a better bike a 790 duke or 890 duke people say the 890 is smoother but the electronics on the 790 are standard what should I get as my first motorcycle out of those thanks man

Hi my friend, you made the same mistake I did, the serial numbers on the arms should point down to the ground and not be facing outward, if you go back and study the instructions again you will see what I mean. The bags will be closer and neater.

Awesome video, exhaust and bike! Definitely looking to get this exhaust if I some day upgrade my 890 duke into super duke :D. Only problem is that since UK is not part of EU anymore its pricy of ordering anything there... So probably need to look into if I can order via Sweden France or something like that. Other option is the akra exhaust+akra map which is possible to get from Finnish KTM dealer and get box for enabling turning signals again.
