  • Maybe this can help some other people out if they have the same problem as I did.
Evotech Racing did not respond to any of my email's regarding this matter.
So that's why I decided to try and fix it myself.
Hope you like the vid guys 😀
    Ride safe 🏍

I have a 15' sdr. The reason for the condensation is because it's a v twin and if they aren't properly ridden hard and warmed up to hot each time ( I.e oil temp up over 85°c) they build the condensation. It's 1.3 litres of motor with SAS and lots of air inlets and they draw in moisture like old ducati's did. If your doing short trips around town, They get warm and suck in surrounding atmospheric moisture when they cool down.
I've done Over 7000ks on mine and it's just the way they are.

Its all true, but a lot off people dont know that. But its not just on a V twin but on all engines 😁 Unless its dry clutch 😂

There should be no requirement to use RTV sealant with an o-ring closure - this is a design issue. Your caption at the end advised the new o-ring was "thicker" - I suspect they have changed the o-ring section, aware that the previous section was inadequate. Be also aware that Ethanol in fuel will cause EPDM o-rings to harden and loose compliance over time, reducing their ability to seal effectively. Due to blow-by, unburnt fuel will contaminate oil. Regular oil changes will help mitigate the issue, but the o-rings will eventually harden regardless. Oil emulsification (Milky substance) is caused by condensation within the crankcase. It's far worse in cold climates (Northen Europe/North America/Canada), as the engines cool to ambient temperatures below dew point, causing the condensation. Hotter climates don't suffer as much, or at all. There is little you can do to avoid it in Denmark unfortunately. Later BMW's have small electric heaters installed on the crankcase breather lines, to help stop the formation of condensation and the white "sludge". I know Audi Oil service indication is dictated not only by mileage, but also how quickly the engine cools down after operation (fast cooling, caused by low ambient temperatures, increases condensation which degrades oil quality/viscosity quicker. No response from Evotech Performance customer services is very concerning ...

I was just about to pull the trigger on one of these. The fact that they did not even respond is such a put off. They should have sent you a new unit let alone simply respond to you. This puts me off of anything Evotech.

I just went to my local farming machine shop and asked them for an o-ring that was a little bigger than the one I had so that thé o-ring is a bit thicker. Thé o-ring needs to protrud a little over the little grove it sits in on the cover, so than when you put the clear part in you need to put a bit of force on it to get the c-clip in.
I am not sure if that makes any sense, it is a little hard to descripe 😅
      Hope that helps 😊
The o-ring the machine shop gave me was an custom made one. What they do is, they have like a “roll” of o-rings where they just cut them to size and then when you put the “open” o-ring in you just make sure that the open end is upwards but with the ends meeting 😁

    • @khalilkhalaf712
      @khalilkhalaf712 3 роки тому +1

@@DamTheDane I know exactly what you mean! Basically the two ends should meet at the top of the cover just against gravity so it doesn't leak, I only hope I can find a custom made o rings shop around here hahah. Thanks again ride safe!

      @@khalilkhalaf712 Hey mate :)
I did use a little drop of sealant where the 2 ends of the "O-ring" I got meet but other than that, no :) If the O-ring you got is the right size and not one that's cut to fit, you don't need any sealant 😀

EVOTECH: for the record, I am boycotting EVOTECH and posting this video on every facebook motorcycle group I am a member of here in USA. Shame on EVOTECH for ignoring their responsibility.
Update: today I contacted them asking them if 'Buyer Protection' they are advertising is falsehood. I stated that I am not comfortable doing business with them unless they reach out to you and correct the problem. I provided them with links to this video (they will probably read this)

I am from the US and watched a few of your videos. I have a few questions? What do you do for your job? After listening to all the Gov restrictions and the taxes you have to pay I wonder why anyone your age would stay in your country? Paying 150% tax on your bike? Insurance? That is no way to live. Leave that place. Move to the US. You can modify your bike as you please! It almost sound like your living under oppression. Globalism is affecting us all but no one should have to live under the rules and taxes you are dealing with. Moving to the US is not that hard. You just need someone to guide you into how to do it and what type of job to get so you can have the freedom to do what you want.

I am a master technician with Toyota as my special 😊
So the Government have went to S**T with the new people in charge of Denmark, and I doesnt seem like they care for the people at all... 😑
I think what makes me stay in Denmark is my familie and friends, how ever... if the Government keeps this going and doesnt use any common sense, I might be forced to leave Denmark, so I can live my life the way I want 😊
Yes about 150% on top of what the bike actually costs, just to get the bike registered.
Insurance is about 1.000 USD a year.
Its really hard to be a petrolhead in Denmark, because all the F**KERS that run this place all have there GREEN/NO FUN hats on 😣
