TIPS
- Let the soil completely dry out between watering.
- Use the Soak Dry Method.
- Dry crispy leaves = Underwatered, increase watering frequency
- Mushy, soggy, translucent/yellowish leaves = Overwatered, decrease watering frequency
- Make sure your pot has drainage holes.
- Tap water is usually fine but some sensitive plants like Jade plants prefer rain or filtered water.
- Use room temperature water.
-Water in the morning.
*DECREASE WATERING FREQUENCY IN THE WINTER*
TRICKS
- Let a cache pot or tray catch excess water and let your succulent suck up as much water as it needs.
-Use a squeeze bottle for tricky areas or delicate plants.
-Bottom water plants with leaves that completely cover the pot and block you from top watering even with a squeeze bottle. (you can just bottom water everything if that works better for you.)

To get rid of the latex you trim the edges, cut the leaf, and let it soak in water for an hour. To be safe I let it soak in water overnight in the refrigerator.

Ok so my coastal oxtongue flowered!! And it had a huge line of orange and green flowers. But now the flowers are falling off and some sort of seed pod or fruit seems to be growing out from where the flowers were. Any idea what this is, what I do with it, and also what I do with the huge flower stem that came from the plant once this process has finished?? Appreciate any help haha

Thanks for explaining that aloin might be responsible for why I was only ever able to use the store-bought aloe. I gave a 75 year old (inherited) Aloe plant to a friend a few years back, because I couldn't figure out what the "problem" was. I can't wait to buy one soon... since I now live in Germany, it might be more difficult to give her (my medicinal plants are always with a female pronoun) enough light... but indoor grow lights should do the trick.

I would have liked to have seen a handful of soil spread over the table perhaps so's I can know the texture, consistency. And why does soaking in water fix the aloin? chemical reaction or simply dissolves in the water?

I soak my air plant for sometimes an hour or more every day, then shake off excess water and let them dry upside down and a few hours later they feel really dry. This is a little baby airplant too. I feel like they get so damn dry the same day but i'm already soaking them on a daily basis when most guides said once or twice a week so how do they get so dry? I know I live in a dry climate and its winter but I was told they look green when they've got enough water and that the trichomes become visible when the plant is dry.
