Silent Passage: A Journey Through Calm #Tutorialtuesday #32
Welcome to this week’s #TutorialTuesday! In episode #32, I guide you through creating a serene and mystical scene inspired by Germany’s famous Devil’s Bridge, titled Silent Passage. This tutorial is all about capturing the quiet magic of nature’s reflections, with soft tones and subtle contrasts.
The Palette
For this painting, we used the following colors:
* Titanium White
* Yellow Ochre
* Bright Red
* Alizarin Crimson
* Phthalo Green
* Phthalo Blue
* Grey Mix (equal parts Phthalo Green and Alizarin Crimson)
You’ll notice a brown mix on my palette-I initially planned to use it but ended up leaving it out. Consider it an extra splash of inspiration for another day!
As always, I’m using Bob Ross paints and brushes. They’re amazing tools that make this style of wet-on-wet painting so much more accessible. If you’re looking to create vibrant and smooth blends, I highly recommend them.
Tools & Setup
* Easel: I’m working on my trusty Sante Fe II Easel from Jerry’s Artarama. It’s sturdy, adjustable, and makes handling large canvases a breeze.
* Recording Equipment: For this episode, I’m using OBS alongside two iPhones for recording, and I’ve been editing with DaVinci Resolve. This workflow is helping me bring you better content, and I hope you’re noticing the small improvements!
