A very nice complex composition. Tasteful foggy environment, but with a realistic natural setting. I enjoyed this painting. The coat suggested a chilly place, but your descriptions warmed it up.
A beautiful painting, Kaylee. Doing a foggy mist scene is not easy because it's hard to know just how far to go with the mist before it envelopes the scene. You did it brilliantly. Putting the boat in there was another good idea. It makes it feel like nostalgic scene of a time long forgotten. Well done. 👍😊
I used to do wet on wet paintings back in the day. I was actually pretty good. I probably could have been a certified Bob Ross instructor. But I really enjoyed painting and I would pretty much just give them away because I painted so many of them. I guess kids and family started to take up more and more of my time until I eventually stopped painting altogether. I still have all my paints and brushes and even a few blank canvases. Your paintings inspire me to maybe - maybe - try something again.

Love the painting. Especially the trees on land. They are beautiful. I'm not sure, but are you using a canvas board? From the side, the canvas looks very thin? I'm just guessing here. I did have a slight chuckle seeing you in a jacket with your apron over the jacket. Obviously, don't want to get paint on your jacket. I guess the temperature is dropping fast where you live. Any snow fall or it is just currently cold?
Thank you! I never recommend painting on a canvas board. Always on a stretched canvas for the best results. My canvases are usually pretty thin, because it’s the most affordable for me. If I book a commission they get to choose the canvas and I always go for a higher end one for that say an inch to inch and a half thick. Aprons are essential. Oil paint stays wet and I love my clothing. Although I know it will get paint on it, I like to try to keep them as clean as I can. Besides where am I supposed to wipe my hands hahaha Being a chef as well, I am very accustomed to whipping off my hands on my apron or on the towel in my pocket so it works for me 😂😂 We actually have snow on the ground in salt lake. I live at the base of the mountains where it’s always windy and if it says snow in the mountains and rain in the valley… we almost always get the snow😂 I didn’t grow up with snow so I’m also learning how to appreciate it differently :)
