No way, you're going to Whistler??
Do you have an instructional video?
@iamnotpaulavery I do not. I am more of a mountain bike channel but every now and then I'll upload guitar or skateboard stuff 😅
@@chickensendies Oh, I see! I hadn't realized that! Sorry!
@@iamnotpaulavery no worries at all! Appreciate you stopping by 😁
@@chickensendies I'll probably stop by again sometime!
By the way, how did that new EMG pickguard sound?
Bought a short amazon stem just to experiment. I ended up keeping it on the bike. 7 month now no issues.
That’s cool I guess
@@rockyreynolds7364 you're cool.... I know 😉
I've always used a pipe cutter for aluminum and steel steerer tubes(not a good idea on carbon tubes). I've always gotten a perfect cut. You do have to clean up the cut edges with a file, but I've never had an issue. You can get a pipe cutter for about 15 bucks at the hardware store. Edit: posted before you showed the pipe cutter....lol.
@gtrklem HAHAHAHA I totally forgot about it until I saw it on my board. Been a bit since I had to use one 😅😅😅
Excellent man!!!
@@rodlissat7150 appreciate it!
if your mountain bike purchase is to explore the concrete jungle, such as False creek, the seawall, or paved paths anywhere, don't watch upgrade videos.
@@reneelove7513 Yep! I think this bike stock is great for any form of paved trails. I just enjoy tinkering and seeing what all I can do with bikes 😁
@reneelove7513 but, You can always watch upgrade videos if you want 😁 I enjoy seeing all the different ways people take their bikes with upgrades. One of the best parts of biking is making it your own 😁
What wheel is it?
Thanks for the thorough review and helpful tips of @WAYCLIF Portable tire inflator! We're glad it met your expectations. 🚲💨
Just subscribed. It’s cool to see what you’re doing to the Ozark Trail Gravel Bike. I have one and I wouldn’t mind putting in a few hundred dollars myself. Keep going dude!
Appreciate the sub and definitely will keep on going with the build 😁😁😁 Trying to figure out what's next!

Subbed. Getting back into riding and got this for my 39th bday gift and looking to do a few upgrades.
@@z28crossfire65 Hey, there!!! Appreciate the sub and stoked for you on your new bike!!!

That guitar is very versatile!!!! 😊🙂😀 It's not just for Heavy Metal!!!! It's refreashing to see that guitar being used for other styles of music!!! Most demos I've seen with that Charvel Joe Duplantier guitar either play Gojira covers or Metal Core /Heavy Metal riffs!!!!😮 Great playing dude!!!😊❤🙂🙂🙂

@@rockyreynolds7364 HAHAHAHA I know you will 🤣
What was the red liner thing? That wouldn't be for tubeless, right?
@MorganGlassco Nope, it is just a rim strip. Helps keep the tube from getting punctures due to where the spoke nipples attach.
@@chickensendies right on, thanks
Agree 100% ! Enjoy the channel and also doing upgrade on the G1. Switching to a 1x
@cperryisnow Glad you enjoy it!!! Let me know how your 1x swap goes! 😁
The frame itself isn’t bad. That’s the only thing that’s not total garbage. The move here is to buy the bike strip it down and build it back up if you got decent parts laying around then sell all the stock components to people that are stupid enough to buy this bikeand keep it stock. They are going to need them as they’re constantly breaking these cheap parts. I don’t think you guys realize how cheap the bearings are in this thing.. headset bottom bracket wheel bearings is there any chance those things are gonna last more than a year or two? You will drop the cost of the bike repairs after a couple years if you’re riding this thing hard. Especially if you’re a heavier rider, you’d be a fool to think you’re gonna go out and shred single track on this thing without destroying it quickly.
@Bikes0420 Obviously this bike is not made for "shredding" single track... Sure, I did it for giggles, but this is for road miles and gravel riding, and it is absolutely fine for that stock. If people want to go out and upgrade every part on it, they sure can. It is their money and can do as they please. The stock components on the bike are fine, and after many miles on mine they are still functioning no issue. In many of the groups I'm in, theirs have been fine too 😁 Appreciate the comment and ride on 😉
I did something similar to a giant escape. Had to knock out the existing cups and machine off the inner lip. Fits perfect
@CL-yx7ly nice to be able to do this and snag a tapered if you want 😁
Haters gonna hate...Keep on building.
@Wile-E-Coyote_Super_Genius That they are, and you know I will Keep on keeping on 😁😁😁 Appreciate it!
If it puts a smile on your face it's worth it, keep shredding 🤙

@@WeOutside.liveaf Glad to hear! 😁😁😁
Im a MTB and DJ person.. just got these to ride canals and gravel and has work perfect for me no issues.
@@Salv5031 Imo great for stuff like that! Great for conditioning style riding.
LOL bike snobs putting down a bike they’ve likely never ridden and accusing you of being bought by walmart. Your facial expressions are hilarious! I bought the 44cm and at 5’4” with a 28.xx” in seam it rides nice. I bought the 50cm also and it felt a bit big so I returned that one. Overall, I like the gearing, shifts well enough, rear derailleur needed a bit of adjusting, brakes squeal like a mother (at times), but I don’t think it’s a bad bike at all and it might even be underpriced! I’m a casual rider and enjoy riding it and I’m so glad I found your channel! I ride to please me, not anyone else so I rock my Explorer without shame and will take it out over my 2024 Rockhopper Comp. Keep up the videos!
@YinYangPanda I hear my face is pretty animated 🤣🤣🤣 Glad you are enjoying yours as well and appreciate the input and comment! 😁😁😁
I’ve done a few videos about this bike. Not great ones because I just have started trying to make videos. I know Walmart isn’t paying me to make mediocre videos. 😂 I was in a bike shop yesterday and said something about this bike getting decent reviews for a cheap bike and having one. The guy said “Those guys on UA-cam get paid by Walmart. I didn’t tell him that I had done a small review in my own attempt to make videos.
@kangeo I mean.... If Walmart ever wants to pay me I'm always down for extra income 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Appreciate the comment and I'll check out your videos here soon! 😁
@@chickensendies That’s the same thing I told my wife I’ll be glad to take the money if Walmart wants to send it here. I’d be happy if they’d just send me their products to review as long as I can keep them.
I mean… i thought it was an ok bike to experiment with also. 😅
@@RomansDowntime Me too! HAHAHAHA
I like the budget builds. I built my kent cause I saw you do it. I didn't go all out just tires, brakes and different cassette. Budget bikes are a good back up to have when your main bike is down.

I wish I could have got the Ozone Park over the Mongoose Grit price wise
@DavidBrown-iy2pl I was looking at the grit a bit ago but passed on it. Nice looking bike but when I saw this one I decided it would be fun to mess with 😁
I use that brand on my hybrid and have no issues with it. Been riding with it since 2000 but I do street riding and some curb hoping it works great
@@DavidBrown-iy2pl very nice and glad to hear!
Just picked this bike up and absolutely love it. I'm a mountain biker and my expensive enduro is not what I want to be taking out for fitness rides around my city when I can't get to the trails. For 250$ bucks this was a great fill in bike for those times and the weight doesn't bother me, since i'm used to riding heavier mtbs any way. Had to do a bit of a tune up from the store, so maybe not the best for someone with no mechanical knowledge, but outside of that I haven't found anything wrong with it. Also cut the seat tube post in half to save a little bit of weight since it's SO long.
@johnnyfromtheblock7195 awesome and glad you enjoy it!!! That is a good idea on cutting the seatpost if you have the extra length. Appreciate the comment!
Should try out a suspension seat post and carbon printed 3d saddle. I got a Suntour NCX and Ryet on Ali for a little over $110. Great cause they can easily be swapped to other bikes they made an awesome difference when I ride on gravel!
@@J-cz7yv I've personally never ridden a suspension seat but have been interested in it! Appreciate the idea and input!
I bought a baloney 38 with 180 mm of travel for giggles it came with foam rings and half decent Teflon lined bushings, it's a still a non serviceable damper cartridge and the air side had stuff lying on the air piston seal head but the really improved a ton since the dirty inside first inverted fork I got two years ago, still not up to par with RST or suntour QC but they might come to Rock shox judy levels in a couple of years 😂
I must add if you order the 38 version and it develops extreme sticktion issues after a ride or two bushing might be out of alignment 😂 ask seller for a replacement... Also the ports behind the legs on the lowers are NOT bleed ports they are just filling entry point for fork oil. For best results use 20 to 25 ml of yamalube S1 (5wt) type suspension oil after cleaning and moisturizing the foam ring, 38 flangeless skf low friction seals do fit (MTB-38FN)
@LaurentiusTriarius Good information to know and I appreciate it! Definitely excited to see how this bad boy goes! HAHAHAHA
@@chickensendies it's good cheap fun, just might be hard to sue anyone if ish goes wrong. We're the test pilots here 😅

@@husky0877 ill have to take a look! I did not realize they make tools as well!
@@chickensendies I have one that holds a square taper BB tool in place so it doesn't slip off and chew the splines. Most handy.
@@husky0877 That sounds very nice! Appreciate the heads up on it!
I think all the upgrades are worth if you use the bike and have a good time building it up. Sometimes you don't have all the money at once so upgrading a bike little by little as you get the cash is a must.
@@JoseLimon-vj9iw Absolutely! I think that is a great option and what quite a few people do. Appreciate the comment!
If it's all you can buy than sure...I got a complete in mint condition Canyon Grizl for $600 used...
@Souzaphotos That is a great find! Definitely if you have the extra money and time keep an eye out on the used market. Can find some great deals if you are patient and check frequently 😁
@@chickensendies Facebook marketplace always has new stuff popping up, I've seen plenty of gravel bikes for the same price as the Ozark...now if you live in the middle of nowhere I can understand being stuck on choices... I'm sure things like the derailleur hanger would suck to break on that Ozark.
@Souzaphotos yep, I get what you are saying. IL is definitely hit and miss for marketplace, but I've had good luck on different mtb swap pages or even just waiting for good deals or coupons on websites. I do a big mix of budget stuff like this or my main steed is a Ti Binary maniak with very nice parts. I just enjoy working and building bikes and sharing my experiences on here 😁
