Crazy how close the roof is lol
It definitely spooks you the first few laps HAHAHAHA
i am happy to see Walmart making these bikes affordable, maybe it will force others to lower prices. $1300 for aluminum and plastic seems like i am being taken advantage of as a consumer.
@@1cjs4u I am also glad and even more glad they perform well 😁
Why yhe cassette is black? It should be silver
i come here multiple times a week its a great place. i dont like how they rounded off the jumps on this track because before, the edge of the jump wasnt rounded off. I do like how they gave more room for the hip at the end.
What about putting a mtb fork on this bike.
@acrocketsfan Sure! I'd just not go above 100mm travel. Will mess up the geo. I'd try to stay around 80mm if possible 😁
No lies detected 👌
@@RomansDowntime Appreciate you! 😁😁😁
Love my advent x drivetrain
@kennygraves489 hard to beat for the price 😁😁😁
@chickensendies i plan to do advent x derailer with sword shifter on my g.1
@kennygraves489 I was debating that on my dropbar but since I'm more about the Flatbar version I'm putting this on it 😁
@chickensendies fair enough. I just wish the dop bar was like a 2x8 so I had a cassette. I'm changing out my drop bars for ones that actually fit me and are way more ergonomic.
@kennygraves489 Yea, I'm guessing to keep the price down they had to go freewheel. Could be wrong though lol
I've been waiting for a flat-bar G1...
@@sjanzeir I got pretty lucky finding this one it seems
I almost never hit that line. I need to next time.
@@AdrenalineIsLife it is very fun for what it is 😁 Love the little "wall ride" HAHAHAHA
I'd like to see you put a 10 Speed Cassette on it.
L-Twoo Shifters are made like the Campagnolo Shifters with the small button.
I may have just purchased the last available Ozark Trail 700C G.1 Explorer Flat Bar Gravel Bike in my state today, and sure enough, it's a medium. I think these were a limited run based on my research. I bought the small frame drop bar version in August and have since upgraded it to a 1x with flat bars. These bikes are so fun to work on and ride!
Why "upgrade" the bolts?! An M6 Grade 9.8 bolt is supposed to break at 13.3 nm and this application calls for 4-6 nm so the bolt is absolutely fine for this application. Getting a higher grade bolt only allows you to cause damage to the part instead of the bolt. This is engineering performing as expected and NOT a problem.
@The_AmyFromEarth that is kind of the point over me mentioning a torque wrench. Sadly, people just tighten the bolts down as much as they can, and that is why these typically fail on them. I was just demonstrating different ways/options in this video 😁
lol

If I remember right, tektro minimum rotor thickness is 1.8mm, they recommend a rotor thickness of 2.3 or 2.4mm i belive so that dead spot my be because the rotors they put with these tektros are already to there minimum.
@@rodgerlyons9775 hmmmmm.... This is very interesting info!!!
@chickensendies for sure! My bike came with shimano rotors which are 1.8mm and I have the same feeling, first half of the lever feels dead so I dug into and found that so. I have not changed mine out yet to 100% confirm but it's on the list to do before next season lol
😂😂😂😂😅 spot on!! Such a fun & amazing outdoor sport, but kicks your wallet in the ass. Lol.
@@2Philthy That it is and that it does! 🤣🤣🤣
Full Suspension bikes really feel like a cushion ride but can be bouncy, just bought used 2009 Iron Horse Full Suspension at reasonable price on ebay, it seems like the comparison between the 26 and 27.5 tires is 1.5 inches taller.
@megashovelmanam1517 They definitely can be more bouncy. Getting the suspension dialed in for you can definitely help though 😁
@chickensendies Sometimes when you got to dial it in, it would be different than dialing up the Telephone ☎️ man you know what I mean...
27.5 full squishes are a lot of fun. Sweet bike!
@@AdrenalineIsLife I have really enjoyed this one!!!
I have Xtrada 7 with air fork and boost thru axle. Ready to trail!
@andijadmiko Very nice!!! Go get thing thing dirty! HAHAHAHA
How often thought about trying to coil shock. Is there anything you could exactly pinpoint what feels different?
@@chrishorbatt3504 The thing I enjoy most about it is it makes me feel more planted to the ground but is also supple. I am not really sure how to explain it though HAHAHAHA.
You may just need a lever bleed, which fortunately is pretty easy to do. I finally completed a successful bleed on my Tektros the other day. I was very excited to do it correctly! LOL Good luck! Nice Giant btw.... so cool.
@gregnowak2492 Oh, yea! Love me a good lever bleed! It is pretty satisfying HAHAHAHA
Dude, that is freakin hilarious! 😂
@@gregnowak2492 Just saying…. HAHAHAHA
DOG!!!! Oh and a bike. HA! Beautiful build! You and that purple! Love how you pimp your bike out. We all love personalizing. It keeps our bikes looking different in the parking lot. Got me looking at getting new decals for my forks. Great video brother!
@MTBQandA definitely recommend slik! They got some great stuff!!! Appreciate you man! 😁
What stem did you use? Im also looking for a budget stem
Finding a full squish 27.5 is nearly impossible these days. Bike came out great!
@KeoOutdoors they definitely seem to be getting rare. Appreciate it, Keo! Definitely happy with how it turned out 😁
I built up a Transition Smuggler in March. I was tempted to go with an expensive carbon wheel set but ran out of money and ended up buying Hunt Enduro Wide wheels. As it turns out, I couldn’t be happier. They’ve been bombproof. The rear hub is smooth , with rapid engagement. Got them on sale for under $400, which is amazingly affordable given the quality.
@@nicks8026 seems to be more reason for me to try hunt! Appreciate the input! 😁😁😁
I have the black and green one. It’s the nicest bike I’ve ever had and I really like it.
@@Runnin2Live Glad you have been enjoying yours as well!
8:30 +1 for another one with a wobbly front wheel, but I opted to replace the entire hub instead. Been smooth since making that change!
@jakebarton7991 you are the one I was mentioning HAHAHAHA Appreciate you sharing man

Wish I'd known this was coming before I bought the drop bar.
Yea, I am the same way. But, here we are HAHAHA
Nice that you found one to buy. Been looking in Florida for several months nothing to be had.
Definitely was pretty surprised they had one.
Perfect start. Then upgrades, brakes, wheels and sofort if its a sport the client get hooked on riding 😅😊 Some might afford a wheelset that shed off 1-1.5kg. Berd or some other highvalue carbon wheels will transform this bike to a faster bike. There is alloy wheels that are really good and a human pricetag and is lighter as well. Not as light as carbon, but as always there is a question what every one might afford. I wont take a loan to ride a bike 😂😂, ever! Some do and they eat my dust, so not to impressed by several thousands dollar bikes, they are amazing to look at for sure. Im 59 and stopped racing15 yrs back. Now its for pleasure and to get a gentle workout.
I'm 5'8" with 28" inseam and I ride the medium drop bar with a shorter length taller rise stem. The small felt cramped to me.
It's a great bike!
Im new to the bike upgrading world! Love your videos! I have a quick question what brake disc would i need to run with that wheel?
Definitely cheating😂
@@Rubbersidedownmtb Shhhhh.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@chickensendies I won't tell😅
@@Rubbersidedownmtb I appreciate you 🤣
I'm gonna up grade the seat & saddle post
@WayneKersey-i8k definitely worth while upgrades! 😁😁😁
I went with the drop bar for the nostagia factor. Had a 10-speed, look up "Huffy Sweet Style". I like the aesthetics of drop bars and thicc tires 😎 I will primarily ride this bike on the local paved/multiuse trails. would not take it on the mtb trails around here, I've got a hardtail for that. Then when I get the brakes sorted out it will also be my commuter. But I definitely see the advantages of the flat-bar version, it could have given me practice on diy-ing a drop bar upgrade.
@the.mermaid.scientist I really don't think you can go wrong with either and at the price they are very nice imo Glad you are enjoying your dropbar one! I've been enjoying both models myself HAHAHAHA
I did somthing solar on the uplift at BPW think the guy thought I was trying to rob him lol 😂 I was more shocked none of his buddies had mentioned his wallet was hanging out of his bag.

Hey I just bought a mongoose alx...it is partially assembled...can you tell me a bike assembly/repair tool kit that would work well putting bike together and any adjustments or repairs last time I had a mongoose was a 20" when I was a kid..I'm now 57 yo...so it's been a long time wrenching on a bike... thanks. Troy
@troys2500 Hey, Troy! I would honestly say a good metric Allan set will really get you to be able to fix most of anything on a bike now days. There are a few nice ones on Amazon that would work as well. I'll list one that I'd recommend for you that would be budget friendly but useful as well 😁 There are of course several similar options so you can definitely look around a bit as well.
