I got a Fox Proframe and it is really good. I feel more safe on the race. Great video very helpful.

11:02 I also use a neck brace, torso protector. I have the expensive Leatt neck brace, it's super light.

I’m a moto guy and feel naked without a chin bar. So it’s either Troy Lee Stage for everyday riding and a D4 carbon for park. I don’t know how people run half shells riding.

Definitely a better safe than sorry imo! I've seen a few close calls sadly on the trails.

10:40 I see he runs the Gopro the way I ran it before, but I recommend switching to Gnartec Ultimate chin mount, it's Alu mount with rubber part, so it stays secure, two zip ties crossing each other, so it will fit any helmet. It's not super cheap, but it's made in UK, and it's great. No more bouncy camera, no stabilisation needed.

9:15 In my opinion mesh on the helmet vents is a must, no insets and leafs or twigs in the helmet or hair. I won't buy any helmet without vent mesh.

So I've been seriously thinking about getting a full face helmet . A couple weeks ago I was riding with a friend and he slid off a wooden bridge and smashed his face on the other side on the bank and got a pretty nasty cut and he was only going about 4 mph made me think I probably need a full face helmet even if I'm not going really fast

Fullface is definitely a safe bet for all riding. You can get some pretty nice/light ones as well now days 😁

Did the pro frame accident happen on pumptrax usa!? Big advocate on proper helmet wearing. Honestly I’ll wear my full face more times than not anymore just because I’ve knocked myself out with my full face on and it had it been my half xc helmet it would have been worse. I’ve also seen tons of xc rides end up with some hematomas or fractures and that’s scared me.

It actually happened at Ray's on the green loop. It was the hip after the bigger jumps. Rich will basically only wear a proframe now. Tried and true for sure! Appreciate you, Kyle!!!

@@chickensendies that’s a hard one. I’ve crashed into the wall and flown over it before. Complete laughter the whole time but definitely a wild ride at times! Appreciate you dude!

@@chickensendies She's afraid of me wiping out. 😂. We recently went for a ride and I like riding on retaining walls and dropping off them. She likes her flights of stairs. She thinks I'm nuts riding with the sheer drops. On one side.

Do I need a brain bucket if I am brainless? But on a serious note.
There's no way for me to try a helmet locally, unless I try someone's helmet, but that's probably not a good idea due to lice.
but first step is to measure the widest point of the head. mine is 59cm.
Different helmets fit different shapes better, for me Fox Rampage Carbon 2015, 16, Leatt Gravity 1.0 DH i fit me well.
I went for Leatt Gravity 1.0 DH it was cheap, one of the best deals really even at full price. More on that helmet in my written review. But their gloves on the other hand are expensive.
8:17 I've seen horrible crashes in Proframe where the chin bar touched the face snapped off on impact, seen several reports of them snapping off. But not seen any of the new Proframe yet. I hope they fixed it, cus just a small jump and face plant resulted could mean smashed face. I've even seen claims about a guy dying cus of this helmet. But I don't know if that's true, nor if that was the reason. I ride with a neck brace. Also a helmet can't protect against everything. But all of the reports and even some reviews scared me.
