2011 VW EOS Middle Muffler Delete
Переглядів 7728 днів тому
It would be great if the EOS sounded a bit more like a GTI same they share the same engine and running gear. We didn’t want it too loud though so just removed 1 of the 2 mufflers, leading the rear one in place. WOW what a huge difference! DSG farts but not too loud when driving sedately.
How to replace the struts on a VW or Audi.
Переглядів 1474 місяці тому
This is for MacPherson strut cars. Mk5 and 6 (likely mk7 also) Golf and Jetta. Probably same vintage Passat. And the Audi TT mk2. Possibly other models too. This method requires no hammering and no need to remove the drive shaft and lower ball joint.
Why does my VW (or Audi) never get to full operating temperature?
Переглядів 13 тис.9 місяців тому
For a while now my 2013 VW Passat Alltrack 2.0 TDI has rarely reached full operating temperature. I even replaced the main thermostat which is NOT a quick and easy job. Finally, after doing a lot of research I found that this car MAY have another in-line (in hose) thermostat, which could exhibit the same symptoms. I need to service the car so now is a good time to look at replacing the 2nd ther...

VW EOS Cargo Cover Pivot Pin Repair
Переглядів 703Рік тому
The EOS cargo cover must be in the down position before the roof can be opened. Someone broke one of the pivot pins and tried to super glue it back into place. Here I fix the pin so it will not break ever again.
Volkswagen 2.0 TSI Preparing Head for New Valves. EOS Ep. 2

On the engines with one thermostat there is no solution.
Supersmart ! Thanks for sharing.
Wow. Not an easy repair, good job
Great video. I did exactly the same on a bmw m135i turbo
You need a bigger compressor.
@@wendywhales2310 for…….?
Thanks for the video and just got some quality evil energy silicone vacuum tubing from Amazon today.
Just wondering about the total cost for this one, cause i want to do it, i am from victoria
Hello. Tell me please, which part number of this tool kit?
Any droning at hway speed?
Hi there did you struggle to get the left side shaft in as mine won't go all the way in
Not that I recall. Sometime the C clip can be troublesome.
Do you need to bleed the system or does it solve itself without bleeding any air?
It will self bleed. Normally you will need to top the level a couple of times. In the first few days.
Thanks for the info. I wonder if anyone knows what causes that “burn” mark on the tank. Such a odd and apparently common issue
did it come with a 12v adaptor for the light?
Yes it did.
I have the exact same issues with my dolf gtd
Great video! Inspired me to do it and it went easier for me to get that bushing out. You can use a punch or a bolt to hammer the bushing out instead of trying to extract it. Plenty of room in the housing. I might need to replace later on as the housing is cracked at the wastgate opening unfortunately.
Sir i have citroen c3 2007, i try to move shifter cable tnen i get same issue iremoved inhibitor switch and clean it now p n r d appear but still start, voltage is12.6v but as i know car can start even with 10v charged, why we need 14v? Since 30 day i used uber bcz my car unable to start, i am from Oman 🌹🇴🇲
If that spring releases by accident, it cracks the casing. If a gearbox is removed and the clutch actuator has not been put in its safe position, it cannot be safely removed. You hear a click and the casing is cracked
Awesome, gonna give this a go. Thank you 😊
thx m8
Having myself a sensodrive problem on a 2004 C2. While driving and at random situations the Auto and Battery lights suddenly start flashing and i'm unable to change gears. I turn off the engine try to restart but nothing. Try to change gears also nothing. At this point i have 2 options: 1) Disconnect/connect battery pole or 2) Let 1 day to pass, either way the car starts and gearbox works normally but just for a couple of days where the problem repeats itself. Went to a specialized garage where everything was checked and proceeded by changing the battery, also changing the clutch+actuator and even had the gearbox dismantled and checked. Everything was going fine until yesterday, 5 months after the repair, where the problem reappeared!!! Since almost everything related to this problem is new on my car i tried recalibrating with no external source but it doesn't do anything. Is it the 5 month old battery? Isn't a little bit early for the battery to wear off? I mean there is no logic in recharging or replacing the battery in such frequency. Also what is the root cause of this problem? A faulty ECU maybe? Cabling, connectors etc? Anyway i will try recalibration connecting the battery to another running vehicle and come back.
Cheers brother. What are your thoughts on fitting one to a different sled as a 4wd rescue tool? It it still working well?
Still going well. THE Best workshop purchase I have made in a long time. I use them all the time.
Mine a 1.6 2006 vtr senso drive lost drive whilst driving about 6 years ago. Had to get a garage to fit a new actuator for the sensodrive. It's been OK up to May 2024. Used virtually daily. BUT the voltage is a big issue definitely. I also fitted a new battery just after the actuator. This solved the problem. More to do with a worn actuator in my case .. ? If I recall correctly. Believe it or not 3 days ago same issue ! Battery light etc .. would start but wouldn't select gear . Tried the initialisation .. 3 or 4 times at the road side . Still no good . Ended up recovery tow truck home. Even with extra battery's.. same problem back home. Wiggled wires into actuator... got it started. The paddles would select 1 gear and 2 but it would more or less resort straight away to snow flake warning 😅😅 and AUTO flashing battery .. [ I think flashing battery light is related to starting issue ... circuit ? ? Not just low voltage battery .] My initialisation process is slightly different .. so I'll try these and get back [ thinking also about drilling holes in actuator and spraying in silicon lube ] UPDATE 31 May 2024 Good news I got it 😊 I drilled holes about 3mm in the plastic bottom of the actuator and sprayed in silicon .. no good . I tried another in the top aluminium 3mm and again sprayed in silicon ... Still no good . Tried tapping with a hammer whilst it was resetting ... nothing. [ this worked last time ] Nearly gave up .. but decided to soak the electrical connectors going into the actuator in WD40 [ AKA mechanic in a tin ] 😅 Soaked them well in with nozzle several times and physically moved/ pushed around the cables . Left it for 15 minutes [ maybe longer poss overnight would be better ] ... and it worked ! No snow flake or warning lights.. starts and gears select 😊 The actuator is located by the passenger wheel [ uk ] near or very close to the ABS unit [ I think it is ] It can be accessed OK from underneath once it's on wheel ramps . Move the plastic cover out the way and a nozzle should fit in easy . I also noticed when following the black negative from the battery to top of engine the connection to top of engine was well corroded .. not good what so ever , would cause untold problems
Hola ojala me pueda ayudar , el mio si marca las marchas pero no parte y parpadea la palabra auto en el tablero
Muchas gracias por tu ayuda, me sirvió. Mi problema fue el alternador que no carga
But they have 2 thermostats...
Brilliant, well done. I've just frustratingly scrapped one of these machine, a bit newer too, with a motor control board fault I could not repair. The replacement boards are not being made anymore by Fisher & Paykel and they sold for 260.00 NZ dollars.
I’ve got the same issue on a golf, I feel like my mpg is suffering as a consequence did you notice that?
This is possible because when the engine is cold (or the ecu thinks it’s cold) the ecu adds more fuel to help it run better.
Hello: You shouldn't have poured the bottom of the water from the container you removed into the new container. Did you think that was snow too? If you added clean pure water instead. It is harmful to use anything other than pure water. Hello from Turkey.
Were can i see the part 1,2?
Any suggestions if I can't weld?
If you prep it and set it up it is a 2min job for someone that can weld. It could even be done with a stick welder.
Heater on high should always drop the temp. This isn’t unusual.
I agree.
Engine code?
CCZB
Nicely done. Way to be able to problem solve so well
hi, pete , do you know how to remove the side skirts on a c2 please
No, sorry. I no longer have this car.
Doing this right now, how tight should the wastegate flapper be to the housing ?
Just touching plus a little bit more.
This is exactly what I needed to see. I was thinking of doing some exhaust work on my car for a louder better sound.
Very novel work indeed...except that, for that process one would think to just purchase a new turbo as the cost of this repair and sourcing would cost more than a new turbo.
How about a normal fix
much rather depin the plug as soldering some wires can cause problems with resistance
Hey Pete, I have a Weco welder too, I have a question on the wiring of the Up & Down Tig Torch, is Pin 1 Bridged with Pin 4? or is it bridged with both pin 4 & 3? I'm thinking of getting an amperage control tig torch but wanted to clarify this first. Thanks
Exact same problem on my wifes audi tt tdi. Ill need to get it changed
Taking the intake manifold off and swapping your water pump is easier. I've done these so many times it takes me less than an hour.
I have changed the water pump, thermostat and the sensor, unfortunately nothing has been changed. i am getting crazy
Mine was an B8.5 audi, changed both thermostats, EGR Cooler, Coolant, did coolant system with Headgasket check, waterpump with timing belt, Coolant Cap (there is a valve too) and both sensors to no avail, still not getting above 75°C
Thats alot of work for just a waste gate flap. Great info though I have mk6 jetta 1.8t almost identical as that engine. And it seems it would be much more easy to replace turbo. Great job though!!!
Yep same engine just diff crank and pistons. Slightly diff turbo I think. Easier to replace, yes and also more than 10 times the cost.
@PetesWorkshop yes it is. But if I take the turbo off then I mine as well replace it due to only having 1 vehicle lol great job though
How have them worked until now? Are they reliable?
Still working well. I use them very often.
@@PetesWorkshop nice, im buying exactly the same setup you have in a near future. Space is an issue in my shop, so i need something small.
Hello Pete, thank you for this very informative video! Do you know if this method is effective for flushing and cleaning the heater core and intercooler?
If you have the heater set to high then yes, this process should also flush the heater core. The intercooler however is an air-to-air intercooler so there is no coolant involved.
really useful info and video but the lift music is annoying
I have same issuie temp goes up to u0nand stays there unless i out my foot down and already changed thermostat, where did you order this thermostat from and would it work on 2l tdi audi a5 2010 , wngine code is caha
The part number is in the description. Search it in eBay. I don’t know if the A5 has the same thermostat.
Good day dear, I have a similar issue, in the morning on the highway the temperature drops down and error code came - cooling liquid too low. I have Audi TT MK2. Please advise if I can install the same small thermostat as a second one. Thank you!
I have a mk2 TT with 6 speed manual transmission. It does not have the same thermostat. The Stronic (dsg) may do, I don’t know. ‘Cooling liquid too low’. If the reservoir is full you probably have a sensor fault.
Didnt need to modify the second one at all, just plug the hose from the first one directly to the inlet of the second one, open the inlet valve of the second one all the way, then control the lift with the inlet on the first one.
I also wanted them to be identical so I didn’t need to think about which one to grab first or ‘this one needs to be on the right side’ etc.
Thought my timing chain was going .. but no codes .. rattled on down revs .. turns out this is it .. (b8 a5 coupe 2.0 tfsi)
