1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT "Chairs and Flares"
Переглядів 12 тис.3 роки тому
As a young boy Alberto A. Gutiérrez was interested in European sports cars. As a teen he had a Dino slot car which was his absolute favorite car to race at the local slot track. After collecting a number of classic and modern sports cars he bought his first Ferrari about 15 years ago which was a 1969 365 GT 2 2. That was followed by a 328 GTS, a 360 Modena and then about four years ago this ver...
Why the Datsun 1600 and 2000 Roadsters were such landmark Japanese sports cars.
Переглядів 28 тис.3 роки тому
In the late ‘60s, the most common small convertible sports car was probably the British-made MGB roadster. But there was a Japanese alternative from the land of the Rising Sun that offered up crisp styling, tight handling and a rorty inline-4 cylinder: the Datsun Roadster. Initially the 1500 Roadster came to the U.S. with an 85-horsepower four-cylinder, which in 1966 was enlarged to a 1600-cc. ...

1965 Maserati Mistral Coupe: End of an Era
Переглядів 9 тис.3 роки тому
With the introduction of the Mistral, Maserati began its tradition of naming its Gran Turismo cars after famous winds. The Mistral's two-seater fastback body was designed by Pietro Frua and the first prototype was shown at the Turin Motor Show in 1963, though production did not start until 1964. The Mistral was powered by a race-bred inline-6 cylinder engine that came in 3.5-liter, 3.7-liter an...

Automobiles, particularly those of the vintage and classic variety, are far more than four-wheeled conveyances for simply getting us around. Hang out around them long enough, and the right car can morph into something approaching a friend and companion that we share adventures and the ups and downs of life with. They can mirror our human interactions, sometimes passing in and out of our lives f...

AWESOME 🎉
its a VW right?
Very informative. I like the idea of the transaxle for any front engine, rear wheel drive car.
Why does everyone “estimate” HP? There’s no way to know that unless you get it dyno’d.
Prices have gone up substantially in 2024.
Jim a beautiful story!
I loved the sharp nose on the early '80s Pantera.
The 987.2 cayman S will become a Porsche classic 🤌
Waiting for the first C8 exo.
Great video production!
I loved my '86 SE with a dealer installed custom T-top. Very throaty exhaust and pretty quick. My only complaint was how stiff the clutch as and the underwhelming mismatched 4-speed gearing.
Trip odometer not work?
"It's very stable you can chuck it around" lol right up until it's no longer stable and you're suddenly looking at where you just came from. Or at least that's what mine did more than a few times.
What size wheels did you use? Any modifications to the fenders/fender lips? Thanks! 9:56
The owner obviously prefers the EU-look.
Makes me proud of be Italian… what monsters did we build… 🤦♂️ and now, look at what we produce. Or well, what the others produce with our company badges.
Äckäschweis
I was lucky enough to own both 19671/2 1600 and 69 2000 SU carbs owned by Top Gun instructor that lived down the street late 80’s😊❤
At 4:47 , "...has balance shafts...", ...no, the 60 Degree GM V6 never had balancer shafts...kinda pointless on a 60 degree V6. For 1987 , the V6 was externally balanced with a counter-weight on the flexplate/flywheel....for 88 the V6 was internally balancer. Both the internal AND external balanced engines had neutral harmonic balancers. This is a problem all thru social media, trying to decipher fact from myth....listening to clueless wanabees.
I wish Porsche would still make the 944/968 as a kid I always wanted one I never liked the way Boxster looked.
always very expensive as hell. How u found 19k in 1993 idk
This is the story for the USA. In Europe we always had the 924 in the line up. And the Carrera GT in 1981
I don`t know why GM gives up from developing a great concept. Olds, Chevy,Pontiac and Cadillac had too much overlap, they had too many models where the divisions were competing with each other by having the same kind of car with different cosmetic variations of the same thing basically. If they would have each division doing a different segment of the car market they could of had more choices to compete with the Japanese. But no, trying to save money (they thought) use the same platforms old under powered engines and throw on some different badges and tail lights. Then when they did have some new, exciting different ideas they would give up after a few years instead of developing and perfecting the platform. For the shape they were under powered, a turbo could have fixed that. Do the Japanese give up after 2 years?Too quick to pull the plug. Then a decade or so later the Pontiac division would disappear anyhow.
What a beautiful specimen of such an iconic machine, & nice to hear such smooth gearchanges, both up & down. To say You have a wonderful wife is something of a gross understatement. A great presentation overall, & Thankyou for it.
AMG Rims.. 👍
One thing I'd do is slip on my sleek white pastel suit, throw on my classic Ray-Ban shades, and cruise down South Beach in Dade County, Florida with Phil Collins' 'In the Air Tonight' blasting in my black 308.
Beautiful car and video, well done!
I had a blue one around 1990, found sitting behind a city laundromat but low mileage. I was on a first name basis with the Sat. parts guy at the old Nissan dealership, who would haul out the "411 book" from under the counter. I had previously owned a Volvo with SUs so could tune the carbs. I used it as my daily driver for several years. I had already owned 510s and a Datsun pickup.
I never owned one, but in January 1967 I had a chance to drive a 2000. The Denver, CO dealer called it a "Beetle Killer" which it certainly was. Wow, could it run!
Fyi... over time, that many keys or similar amout of weight hanging off the ignition cylinder will prematurely wear out the ignition cylinder assembly.
I’ve had my 88 Formula since 94 I think. V8 engine swap, slightly lowered suspension, adjustable rear coil overs and adjustable shocks, lower profile tires/larger wheels and the car handles/behaves better than it ever has. Love it.
Wonderful story. May the owner enjoy this car many more years. 😊😊😊
Great story full of passion, and I know you'll NEVER sell this car. EDIT : I love your passion and love that this is your daily driver because both it needs to be driven, and it makes you HAPPY.
In 2010 I ordered my brand new GT500 and paid 67000$ then…. Then I came to know that at that time 308’s were at all time low and for that money I would have bought an immaculate example 😢 While I love my GT500 but a red 308 GTS qv 1985 is my ultimate dream car
Had a friend in 1973 that had one it was like a car on train tracks could corner like nobody’s business
Triple S ;)
My long loss ‘92 SC400 sitting on forged 19’s, brand new front control arms ‘Supra’ with new bushings. on Tein SS Coilovers. I sold it to my friend and he earned his racing license in Vancouver.
You don't get in the car , you put it on. Love it, nice rig my man.
There was a nice red 87 one a few hrs away with 109k for $2000. I kinda regret not checking it out. I already have a nice 92 16v GTI to maintain… but I’d dug an 88 924S. Nice review.
i recognize this lil bundle of joy. I did customising as the previous owner of that particur vehicle. Is this in Victoria, B.C. I use to own this car until accident took her from me. Thank you for taking such good care of her. Even right down to the wicker floor mats 100 percent this was my "beamer". feel free to comment new owner again im elated to see her performing on the malahat.
I own a 1986 944 Turbo, stock. Love it, her name is ‘Molly’, if you know the reference you know.
Most beautiful car on the planet
it’s a damn shame that modern Ferraris look like GTA cars ….they used to have such a simple, elegant, and timeless design!
Man nice 951 great mids WHAT KING SUNGKASSES YOU WEARING PERSOLS ?? Model
From 71 till 74 I owned a 1969, 2000 with the Solex Carbs, what a great car.
You will NEVER get that feeling from a Tesla .... they are Soul-less
So, why do they cost so much? Because someone upgraded this one?
You guys are awesome! Thank you for the great content.
i hope it's yours
I was in an urban area. This was the big time drug dealer ride. I've loved it since high school.
