Laser engraving journals
Переглядів 7596 місяців тому
Laser engraved journals make excellent company gifts! If you’re a laser owner looking to engrave journals, be sure you check the shipment before you customize. My client drop-shipped me the journals but the company mixed up one package and gave me dotted instead of lined. Here are the journals shown in the video: Simply Genius Journals: www.amazon.com/dp/B089QX7P9Z/?tag=oakhillmillworks To orde...
The TRUTH about Jobsite Table Saws and Why I Should have Upgraded Sooner
Переглядів 14 тис.Рік тому
I started with a jobsite saw like many do. It was an absolute piece of junk from my Dad. The fence was useless and I quickly knew it was more of a hinderance than a help. The DeWALT is an awesome jobsite saw, arguably the best at this price point. If you’re ready to get past the “make it work” point and want to upgrade your saw, the 110TC by Harvey is incredible. These are extremely well made a...

Hallo. Wie kann ich die touch funktion einschalten?
Hi. It should automatically work.
@OakHillMillworks danke. Hab ein kabel vergesen 🫣😀😃
@@djzette1it happens! Haha. Glad you got it figured out.
"My saw, my choice" You had me rolling!
😂😂 I thought it was pretty funny too, not gonna lie. I’m so glad you noticed! Lol.
This was an awesome video, thanks for posting it. Now I have to get a murphy bed! I really like the color of paint that you used. Do you happen to have the color name or color specs for the paint? I know it is from Sherwin Williams, but the link just goes to the base paint.
@@007Greenalien thanks so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed it. I’ll have to edit the description to include the paint color. That’s a great thought. The blue color is called Archipelago! I have picked some real duds in the past so I was thrilled when I opened the paint can. Immediately loved the color.
@@OakHillMillworks Thank You!
Kreg Tool. You are awesome! Thank you for sharing this and making it accessible. I'm off to measure my closets!
Make sure you make yours a little smaller than I did!! 😂😂 Appreciate the feedback. You’ll have to check out the new Murphy bed tutorial I just shared after you get your closet done. 😉
You’re going to save me a bunch of time and $ if I decide to go through with this build!
@@513woodworks5 if you do, you know how to reach me! I’ll be glad to help if you have any questions.
Love it Christy. Well done.
Thank you, Gary!
Hero, thanks. I learned something new today!
Appreciate the comment! Glad it was helpful for ya!
Nicely done Christy! Big fan of Create A Bed, great hardware and system. I think I may be building my 4th early next year!
Thanks, Christian! It’s quite a good system.
Thumbs up boss!
Haha you rock.
Wow! Your instructions are so precise. Thank you for sharing your upbeat attitude and expertise in this build. Just cleaned out my shop and I’m tempted to take this on. 😅 How many hours do you have in building this bed?
I’m very passionate about showing people what it’s really like and making it digestible so they understand that if I can, so can they. Would love to see you take it on! I estimated it would take someone 3 weekends to complete, but it’s hard to say exactly because I was taking much longer because of all the filming.
@@OakHillMillworks the filming was excellent. It was like I was right there in your shop following each step. 😁
@@eill5998 aw. Haha thank you! I really appreciate that. I wish I could have someone else to do that part because the building is the fun part!
@@OakHillMillworks Your commitment to share this build by being both the instructor AND the camera person is greatly appreciated! 😁
So excited for this video!!
Yay!
You're such a boss. Keep killing it, Christy!
@@Pfrboy 🥲🥰 Thanks for showing up for me, Chris!
Looks fantastic!!! Awesome work!!!
Will the chickens get a Murphy bed in the coop??
@@OakHillMillworks lol no way
My son wants me to build him one of these for his new room! Such a space saver, and now we have the perfect how-to guide!! 🤠
My son too! I may do a twin horizontal so when he has anyone sleepover, they can easily have a nice bed!
PB&J! Excellent work, Christy!
😂 haha PB&J. Thanks… hope you are doing well!
Great video! We are considering adding a Murphy bed to one of our spare bedrooms. I will refer back to this video if we decide to go that direction. You make it look easy enough. Great project and a beautiful outcome. Great to see you back on YT.
They are the coolest things to DIY! I’m a sucker for something that meats both the function and form qualifications though. Thank you for checking the video out!
Woah! Look who’s back on UA-cam! Great video! Lots of useful tips in there!
Up from the grave she arooooose! 😂
This is really awesome. Thanks for sharing!
@@Candclandsapes appreciate you checking it out!! ❤️
Nicely done
Hey, you and J are more than welcome to spend the night and test out the Murphy bed. 😂😂
What, no code word? Great job, Christy... glad to see you're producing videos again! We're contemplating one of those for our "office," so it was good to see options!
Haha. I’m not as fun as I used to be. 👵🏼 - thanks for watching! I’m so grateful for this set-up. Love a good space saving option!
Good job 😊
Thanks! It was a fun build!

If you apply Tung oil to the wood, 1 coat and then another coat 15 minutes later, on your project before or even after your carve, you don't need that EXTREMELY EXPENSISE/OVER-PRICED ORAMASK CRAP. DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY ON ORAMASK CRAP. If you do these carves on a daily basis, you'll save yourself THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS by using Tung Oil INSTEAD of this Oramask CRAP. ANY TYPE of wood oil sealer works...Your an idiot if you by ORAMASK!
Thank you for showing how to use the program. I haven’t found any videos out there except yours so thank you very much. I’m not getting the elite. I’m getting the pro so I will be using this kind of set up.
I’m glad you found it helpful! There are a lot of Vectric how-to videos out there and mine is definitely more on the very beginner end of that spectrum. Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and especially watch. Hoping to have more videos coming one day!
@@OakHillMillworks I use CarveCo maker. The program I was commenting on was the onefinity. I haven’t seen anyone really show how to navigate through it. I have been using UGS to operate my little CNC. I’m sort of used to it. Switching over will be a little bit of a learning curve for me. It took me a while to learn UGS. CarveCo was kind of a nightmare as well lol learning how to operate the software that they send with it is what I appreciate you showing 😊
Oh I see! Gotcha.
Thank You, Batman!
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
I live how it come out dark/black straight front the laser. I can’t seem to work that with mine! lol
For these journals, that’s because it’s black beneath the blue. There are definitely ways to get darker engravings like taking it slightly out of focus or using borax.
I've had one of these for two years... in that time, I haven't used my miter saw at all, in fact, I'm actually selling it....
Yeah they are super helpful if you’re going DIY stuff like a lot of trim work but otherwise…. 😆
@@OakHillMillworks I'm not a hobbyist or major woodworker, no projects involving large lumber, this handles just about everything I need it to , and I'd welcome the space taken up by the miter saw......
That's why we order 10% more
It’s a good call if you can. Kind of painful or impossible to do that when they are sold in packs of 20 only and the client only orders 60 or something like that.
I have this exact router what are you jig dimensions please
Are these for sale?
You shopping for one?
@@OakHillMillworks if there's one for sale I might just add to cart. I've got plastic ones but I want to get away from that and go with wood.
Cheesecake!
Jumping jesus on a pogo stick talk about extremes you dont have to buy a 2k heavy monster there is something in the middle on you can put on a caster cart. I put a cast router table on one end of my table saw. I would never buy a stationary monster unless i was a pro cabinet maker with a dedicated shop.
That’s fair! Although I don’t know if there were logo sticks back when Jesus would have been in his prime jumping days.
I have now ruined 2 end phase pieces of equipment because I didn't know this :,,,,(. But thank you!!! I'm confident for the next one.
I have this same machine and dearly love it. A 2017 model, 50 watt. Many many hours on this machine and no issues at all
Kreg Tools! Love it!!
Appreciate ya watching my ridiculousness! Haha
HERO ALSO these cnc videos are so nicely done. Very thought out. Thank you 😎
Aw. Thanks buddy! 😘😘

Haha yeah!!
Thank You "Batman"

How did you know from the Amazon listing that they were laser safe ? Just trying to learn how to find items that are safe
This is a great question. I apologize that I didn’t get back to you sooner. I have been hosting family this past week. The short answer is, I didn’t know if they would. I bought them and just tested out settings and figured out what worked best for my wattage laser. As long as you know what materials are not safe to laser, things like PVC or vinyl, you can stay away from those things. Otherwise, most things will laser and engrave, it’s just a matter of if they will look good or not. A lot of people use settings that are way too powerful for journals like this and I don’t believe they look good. It doesn’t take much to remove that top color and reveal the black beneath.
