Just curious. Did you consider putting a round over on the middle part that would match the bit on the legs? e.g. 1/8 bit on the legs and a 1/16 round over on the middle. Then you wouldn't have/need a fillet.
Great Video! Good project with the right amount dialogue and hands on technique. I am going to try your approach except cut out the bowl part and use it to hold a stainless steel water bowl for my Golden retriever. Thanks for sharing!
Whoops - Great video with clear instruction. The only thing I would have added to your tray is a little tick mark at the 4 leg locations. Maybe just a 1/4" line with the V-bit. That way you would have the exact location of the legs already marked for you
So I've been in to Vectric for about a year and a half and I want to make legs for a project I'm starting. I don't like the filet as it leaves that little round piece of a hole in the corners. If you just let the CNC bit carve without the filet, couldn't you square the corners with a band saw or something to avoid corner holes? Just curious, I haven't tried it yet.
That’s a great question and I haven’t tried that either. I don’t like the look of the filets either. It might depend on how you are fitting the legs onto your project.
Aw that’s awesome to hear. Thanks for the support! There’s so much to learn. I’m trying to memorize more keyboard shortcuts to make the process faster.
woops., I would have cut the notches out myself so the dog bones weren't there. but it also gives it a look. Great job and thanks for your time, but it is a video that is about making an entire project on the CNC.
Great video! On the text you can actually click the Weld tool and it will join all for you and convert your text to curves for you all in one click. Greta video again!!
Thanks! That’s a handy little tool. I use CorelDraw for my laser and their weld tool doesn’t always play nice so I have been in the habit of skipping manually.
Whoops newer CNC'r here and always looking for ideas. Awesome video, I know video production takes time and I found you kept me engaged without skipping ahead. Subscriber!
Hey there. Thanks so much for the feedback! Really appreciate that. It does take time and I’m still finding my voice and subject matter frankly. I do a little bit of many things and I’m glad to share what I am learning. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Whoops... I didn't watch the whole video. 🥴😳 Yeah, broken bits are a bummer...especially when poor handling is the reason for the breakage. I blame the bacon grease. 😜
Christy, my husband and I followed your tutorial. He changed the song and the legs style, but this came out awesome and really our first CNC project. Thank you again so much for your videos.❤
Aw that’s so awesome to hear. Thank you for sharing that with me!! I’m glad you had fun with it too and changed it up to suit your style. I love that. Keep going!
Awesome little project. For the legs, I'd recommend drilling holes from the front of the leg into the base using a contrasting wood like walnut. Glued in place that thing can hold a small tree!
That’s an awesome idea! Now you are tempting me to want to test the strength of this plant stand as is! I might just have to stand on it at some point… Ha ha!
Whoops , I’d cut out legs without dog bone fillets and rounded over the square edge of the planter. Fun idea would be to put lettering on a curve so it’s still visible when plant pot in situ. Great project thanks .
I feel your pain your on broken bits lol. I see the rings left from the bowl bit on the top of the tray. If you change your step over to 5 or 8% and run a second pass on the bowl bit , it will remove those. it takes a little longer but it will be smooth without sanding. Awesome build, I can see those selling real quick at spring markets. Keep up the great work and look forward to your next project.
I need to get a rubber mat to place in front of my machine so when I inevitably drop another bit, it doesn’t break! And of course I need to probably stop using Brad nails. Haha. The step over adjustment is a great idea. Thanks for the feedback!
whoops Christy, this was a great video, and I really enjoyed it. I have vCrave pro and journeyman 50x 1F and have been watching videos after videos to try and learn how to do this. Look forward to seeing more of your videos, again thank you so much for going through everything step by step.
Thanks, DaLee! It’s definitely a journey to learn the design side of things. What are you finding you need the most help with? Always looking to try to help with my videos.
@OakHillMillworks , honestly, if you keep doing the videos the way you did. You went slow enough, but not too slow and took us step by step and the complete build. I bought all types of bits and need to learn what they do. I'd like to learn how to make my own files, instead of having to buy files. I do a little bit of everything, but its a hobby of mine that I love doing. I wood work, do epoxy countertops, a little of everything really. I wish I was confident enough to quick my full-time job to do what you do, lol. Now, I'm rambling, but full software videos from start to finish is what us beginners need. Thank you again!!

I didn’t consider that. I’m learning as I go but thanks for bringing that idea up!
Whoops. Nice project.
Thanks!
how big of a machine did you get?
I had the Onefinity woodworker which was a 32x32 cutting area and then recently upgraded the x rail to take me to 48” wide cutting area by 32” deep.

Cool idea! I love that. Thanks for the feedback and for watching. It really helps support me and my channel. Appreciate ya!

Thanks for watching! Hope it was helpful. I’m always learning.

Good thought! Appreciate the feedback.

First one!!!
whoops....great little project....might have to try myself, with a few tweaks ,thanks for some easy watching vids....👌
Enjoy!

Whoops - Really good video! I still consider myself new with vCarve and my 1F, but I did learn some new things through your video. Thanks!

This one was definitely a long one! Haha. I don’t love the look of the dog bone fillets either but they definitely help it be more snug.
You did a great job! And it a great video! Thanks much!

(I WILL watch it all... I promise... just don't have time right now. sorry.)
Bacon grease. 🤣🤣
Haha no worries, Dale! I can’t remember when I put the “whoops” cue in there.
Whoops! Thanx for the tutorial :)
Haha. No problem! Appreciate you watching! Big help to my channel and small business.
whoops good job i like the information.
Thanks, Brian! Can be dry information but pretty useful stuff if you are learning the software. Hope it helps!
Whoops! Thanks for the video
Thank you for checking it out! Let me know if you have specific needs I might be able to make a video for!
Whoops! Now I have to buy a CNC lol Great video!
Aw shucks!!! Hahah. First get your bandsaw and then see what the wife will allow you to get next. 😂
@@OakHillMillworks lol gotta save my pennies!
Very cool! I haven’t done any designing in VCarve yet so it was nice to see that process
Oops - enjoyed the process!
Thanks for watching! Hope it was helpful!
Thanks!
Aw. You’re welcome!

Thanks for watching! I like the idea of picking up the plant pot and being surprised with a little quote. Haha.
