why do most of these rings with many bells (13) only use 12 or bell youtubers like you rareley vid 13 bells?

And not to mention, they also sound like the infamous 10 at Christchurch Cathedral, Victoria, BC, there was a news article about those bell

The 5 other bells that aren’t attached to the main frame, in the corner are the quarter bells for the Westminster Chimes, F, D#, C# and G#, 5-1-24, 5-3-25, 6-3-4 and 10-0-22, Casted by Richard Phelps in 1722 and 1723, And the hour bell C#, 27-0-10, Casted by Pack & Chapman in 1770.

Very old school tuning, in someways they remind me of St Pauls. I wonder what they would sound like if retuned to Simpson tuning?

I helped install these! Not a huge amount, but I spent 4 days helping there at the point where clappers, stays etc were being fitted. GSM were installed in the brief era of Taylors Eayre and Smith Co, so notice how the wheel irons are straight pieces of metal rather than the usual Taylors pattern that follow an individual spoke of the wheel.

Well, there is a church bell at secret heart parish in corner Brook and it’s about 600 pounds, I help ring it every Sunday. The bell is named Bartholomew. and it’s pretty massive. if you ever wanted to ring this bell, good luck! That bell is used for swinging and my dad helps film the ringing, he shows it to my mom and my mom is impressed every time, because it was surprising how I was able to handle a really massive bell.

Really lovely bells and rung well. I love Stedman Caters especially when they call a bob immediately as you get the sound of the back bells in sequence.
