This was probably one of the best ringing events I've attended this year so far.

Oh they are. When I was there, I was in the sound test for the judges. So was lucky to get a grab. They are lovely bells indeed!

@@JamesJoynson what was it like judging for the 12 eliminator? Or were just listening to the bells?

@@RingerOliver59 He rang in the sound check, a short burst of ringing to check the audio feed is working and the judges can hear the ringing

@@JamesJoynson nice interesting how the trebles are behind like a fence or something like that

Two bells are boxed in with plywood, I wonder what the reason is.

My guess is it’s an attempt to improve the sound of the trebles in the ringing chamber and create a greater separation between them and the back bells.

@jasnfinlay that is bery plausible and if they also ad large diameter pipes from the Trebles it would mean they would be audible in the ringing room.
I know at St Andrew Cathedral in Sydney they are a really good 10 but when they ring 12 the Trebles simply get drowned out.

Yes - the floor has been opened up below the trebles to make them clearly audible in the ringing chamber, the boarding is to stop the tenors shouting down the same holes!

      @@matthewhigby well that makes sense.

They're all very easy to ring and friendly handling. Acoustically the trebles are very clear in the ringing chamber, although they are drowned out by the back bells in this recording.
