- Visited the restored bells of Leighterton, on Thursday 9th November 2023.
Note; Apologies, the hour bell was cast by John Taylor & Co, not John Warner & Sons.
The derelict service bell was removed, cleaned and is now hung dead for chiming with a trigger-action clapper. Work was carried out by John Taylor & Co in Nov 2023.
The tubular bells have had their fittings and hammers all restored by a local engineer in late 2023. Along with new wires & ropes for the apparatus.

Thank you for making this short film James! Also a huge thank you for showcasing the newly restored bells at our concert on 9/11/23. Everyone was very pleased to hear them being played so expertly.
Thank you. I very much enjoyed playing the bells too. They’re great fun, and I can’t wait to play them again.
Sound better than some tower bells!
Incredibly sad to see the Service bell being hung dead.
It is. But the bell frame is no longer in shape to withstand the forces of it rung full circle anymore. Too much woodworm.
