dunbass over acheiver...hope your not a contractor.....because you wont make money cleaning up...just do your job
What do you do if the ground is frozen?
I use a 3ft masonry drill bit to reach the bottom of the vault. Sidewalks depend on how deep the freeze is. Same as the stone driveway.
Lets hope the company denies her custom when she asks for an fibre install lol
Looks like a fun but stressful job
I ordered Frontier as my second fiber connection, I didn't want to lose my current ISP. They cut the crap out of my current line, and my neighbors installing theirs.... Had to get my other ISP to come out and fix it.
😂
Never leave heavy objects in your cab like that. They become projectiles in a crash.
holy shit that's dangerous, aluminium ladder on a strand that follows the power line, no hook or anti-slip device damnnnn
That was an old video, I haven't got that ladder in a very long time and no longer even carry it.
i thought same thing
I love to see your videos, you are more organised than "Openreach", engineers which owns most of the telecoms infrastructure in the UK. Please keep them video's coming.
What a load of bull you talk
@@BIGB-wc6vrYou do as well, looking at your stupid negative comments on this channel !
Dump that orange menards screwdriver and get a Stanley, (yellow & black color) 6-Way screwdriver that does not loose the bits. I got them in each car, 3 trucks, kitch, bsment, shop, etc.
That is Too cold!
You have a strange way of getting the cable to the house in UK the wire is run straight to the pole in a straight line
We can not go straight to the house if it crosses another property. Aerial Trespass
Never realized how OCD you need to be to install a Fiber Optic Line and that I can appreciate especially when you picked up all your trash and took it with you, never saw that before today.
everywhe is a dustbox
Love the vids man
I love these dude. Watching on my break
5:25 nice lubrication 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So, this is just a temporary patch until someone can come out and do it right? Proper underground burial from the roadside vault. Here, the installer could have buried everything 18-24 inches below grade if he and his management wanted to do that. Why not bring the needed tools? I understand it's difficult in winter but it can be done if the installer and his management want to do it correctly. This is really disappointing to watch.
Around here the trencher people dont work in the winter. This is how they tell us to do it , shallow beside house and vault. Deep everywhere in between.
Damn I know it’s cold… but have a drink every time he sniffs…. Geeze…😳 too annoying..
I will get those edited out next time.
You need to cary some spray. Not full on mace but something disruptive.
I don't see the point of leaving slack on the end of a drop cable that's barely 2 inches below the surface anyway - it's going to break when someone looks at the ground wrong, and then the whole cable is going to be replaced (again).
Gotta leave a plenty of slack for the trencher crew.
Love fhe ckntent minus endless sniffles
I wish they would make that connection in Florida, but they prefer not to offer service to my home. Good Job btw
only one company uses this primitive method of connecting to a pole!!! for everyone else everything will be easier, why they did it I don't know????
i had my fiber done in December of last year it snowing here too.. but they had actual machines drills and trenchers (ditch witch)
How do you decide when to use a field connector vs a fusion spliced pigtail?
I have been mixing videos between 2 companys , one fusion splices both ends, one splices the house only without fusion.
Is a installer gonna hate me if i pre-run 1" flexible conduit from the backyard fiber "pot" to the exterior wall where i want them to run it into the house...
Should be fine. String helps too if its over 50 to 70 ft.
@@joeslightwork ill be running nylon pull cable 👍 I do IT as my main job and i REALLLLLLY want this set up right, the first time, so i dont have to redo this line in a few years...
No cones, No safety? Edit: Nevermind Just saw a cone.
Man it’s so difficult explaining to a older person how to stream I do like three fiber installations a day and almost every one of them is a older person and I spend so much time explaining how to stream it gets old really fast! I always end up asking if they have a younger person in the family that can come over and explain it so I can move on to my next job! Awesome video though man I enjoyed watching!
I'd take working in 120f all day long any day, no thank you!
you got soft hands
I love your videos, interesting and informative on the process of running fiber. One thing that surprised me with this video is there was no conduit from the box to the house. When my fiber was installed a couple of years ago, they had a team come in about a week before the fiber and they used an nomadic driver to place a conduit from the street box to the back of the house where the fiber would be coming into the house.
Each company does it how they want.
I hope they charge the heck out of the neighbor that cut that fiber drop‼️
When you dug up the old drop , you should have used it to tape the new drop onto and pull it instead of drill a hole threw the tub .
The ground had settled for years and Im pulling 3/4 inch head of that plug through a 3/8 inch hole. Taping not helping. Also..... frozen dirt
whats that tool you used to insert the fiber into the quick connector???
QSC-JIG-KIT Cleaver JIG
I love your videos. Tell me one thing: How can I work for a company in the USA? Could you send me some of their websites? I'm from Brazil.
I wondering if fiber company that you do installs for have you put the isp side in the splice Trey because where I'm at, splice tray is both and they are not allowed to use the green connector in the outside box only inside box
How do you close (complete) the call if the drop is able to be buried at the time of instal ? Who is responsible for the AFTER THE FACT at this address ?
3rd party crew is called that only does bury drops...might even be the same ones that cut it for the other company.
Nice 🤝
19:48 hand made fusion?
This a what they call a mechanical splice.
@ yeah i know. But this is an old thing. We do the fusions with the optical splicer machine.
@@joeslightwork why are you not fusing or inline splicing it. You got the splicer already? Those mechanical ends have a gel inside that dries out.
@@ishooal7433 I think its company specific.
I just do what im told.
And here we not dig in the floor, we have underground network prepared to do the job when the network elements are instaled in the floor.
Why you do the terminal between indoor fiber and outdoor fiber outside of home? In Portugal we put the fiber directly from the network element to the home. We use only a optical terminal plug inside the client home.
I think the termination is outside to make troubleshooting quicker when an issue arrives.
Yeah, say if a customer goes down because the drop got cut. The ISP can see that and send a tech out to replace the drop even if the customer isn't home. And then service gets restored without ever needing to go inside the home.
😂 Говна и Палок Америка , в России сваливать на земле в удобном столике😂
how do you do it when its windy or raining? why dont they put the splice enclosures lower on the pole so you'd only need a 6ft a-frame ladder?
If it will drop long enough to reach the car window we do it that way. Splicing the side of the house we can drag in the splice point, splice inside, then drag it back out and wrap it like normal.
That blue felt is ment to be cut and used for you’re tube not electrical tape. That’s what we use it for any ways
I had done this job for 2 years and that was the first nap that ever had it for the tech or they forgot it. 99% techs leave it unsecured, and the drop flies out.
I hope you at least picked up the glass shards from cleaving.
He let them drop in the grass below for the neighbor kids to find. Nothing like having a glass injector that travels to your heart... sloppy.
That was early in my fiber training, I switched to a cleaver with a trash bin.
Best channel name ever
I was thinking on going with....... Its not hard, Its light work.. but maybe thats to many words.
People always come out when you are trying to get work done.
Nice work. Hello from Russia!
Do you use the screw in fiber ends or only splice? In Ky where I’m at we only use the screw in ones like what terminal you saw below your splice. Very cool! Very clean work. Fun to watch and see another tech putting out great product no matter what else is out there. lol.
This company only has a couple areas they bought out with the screw in MST plugs, every other build out has splice on both ends like this. I have a couple videos uploaded with the plug in style and the new place i work only has plugin.
