"I don't trust them to make a real remake"
I remember first reading about Dead Space in one of those gaming magazines, waaayy back in the day, before it first came out. They had a full 3-4 page breakdown on the game, and it sounded like the coolest thing ever, and then the game came out and delivered on that in spades. Anyways, the remake is a masterpiece. They made everything about the game better. In the original, you were bound to each level by chapter, but in the remake, the entire Ishimura is openly explorable, and it is glorious. Random encounters were something I remember dreaming about in the original after I had memorized every notable encounter. Dead Space Remake is one of those rare 11/10 games. They went above and beyond, and the fact that it happened at all is a miracle, considering the corporate tendrils wrapped around the Dead Space IP. Edit: I take it back, there is one thing the remake did worse. The map. The map in the original was a 3d masterpiece, even if it was a bit clunky, and it would have been glorious in the remake, but instead we got a downgraded 2d map. Sad!
I remember watching someone play this years ago (the original.) his game kept crashing early on which I guess is a well known issue. On top of that, every time he saved, the game changed difficulty.

Yeah don't become a Starwars fan and be disappointed... However, there are a few gems here and there if you don't mind older games. Jedi Outcast with the dismemberment cheat enabled comes to mind. edit: Astrobot Rescue team: "Am I a joke to you?" 😂
Nine Sols got snubbed because the developers are Taiwanese and Geoff doesn't want to upset Chinese benefactors.
Shut up
I've never expected you to play KatawaShojo in 2024. It is one the best visual novels. I am curious who your favorite girl is.
All of them is the correct answer
timestamp?
Speaking of new IPs, astral chain was really good imo, really hope we get a sequel on switch, also it’s interesting how many devs throw away a concept instead of trying to make it better as Rata talked abt with dragon age, like monster hunter devs throwing away tracking just because they hadn’t done it well before.
I was expecting to be sold on KOTOR. I was expecting to get another opportunity to dump on Metaphor. I left disappointed. 10/10 stream. Would unlike and unsubscribe again.
3:05:48 The part about Space Marines, feeling strong, plot armor, and such. This bit was interesting enough to warrant a comment: I have a similar issue with how Space Marine-ish characters are presented in games. Astartes and Halo Spartans cannot be depicted in play as they would really be in their universes. These heavily augmented superhumans are described as having reflexes and reaction times that no gameplay could accurately depict. That is, for reasons of being playable, their movements relative to what they fight have to brought down to a manageable human level. This 'relative' or lessened aspect extends to the enemies, as well. Astartes are built to handle threats that no ordinary human could be expected to face and win, or at least to win against with acceptable casualty rates. Yet, things like larger Tyrranids aren't presented as being so incredibly fast or dangerous that units of trained and equipped soldiers outright could not accomplish the mission. In a related vein, Chaos cannot be depicted as being as eldritch and unspeakable as it would be in-setting. When it comes to the 'feeling strong' part of Space Marine gameplay, the same issue comes up. When someone like oldboy says that Astartes are not so tough in canon, what it sounds like he is getting at is that combatting things like Chaos Marines or large numbers of larger Tyrranids is a more or less even playing field, one in which significant Astartes casualties can be expected. Meanwhile, if those same Astartes were up against traitor Guardsmen or other normal human forces, the result would be the type of one-sided battle depicted in the 'Astartes' animation, where there are minimal Space Marine losses if any at all. If that were presented in gameplay as it would be in-setting, it wouldn't feel challenging. Hence the mostly super-human threats that we fight in the Space Marine games, hence the scaled down, relative nature of the gameplay to even present these figures as playable in the first place. I would imagine that working out how to convey feelings of power and strength while maintaining gameplay challenge in a work like Space Marine 2 not easy on the development side. This is partially how we arrive at characters that seems so out of proportion to how most Astartes would be in-setting, men like Titus or Malum Caedo. That said, the needs of gameplay do not cover these characters completely. Important lore figures like Grimaldus, from the Black Templars, or Chapter Master Marneus Calgar survive situations that other and unnamed Astartes do not partially for reasons of plot, but also because they are personally of superior skill and ability, even compared to the already superhuman Astartes, which is demonstrated in what they accomplish. Of course, any given 40k character succeeding against the odds can also readily be explained by actual intervention on their behalf. The Emperor does, in fact, protect. The ones He needs to, at any rate. The ones capable enough to make a difference, like Titus and similar characters. In that sense, a certain level of plot armor is entirely in keeping with how the 40k setting operates.
Another selling point is that it's a game where you summon Satan with the power of friendship to save the world
I have fun playing TotK. That said, I hate what is because I love the IDEA of what it could have been. If TotK was the first game and BotW didn't exist then it would have been a 9/10 for me in spite of all the issues, but the devs had BotW to work from, why the fuck is the TotK we got so lacking after more than 6 years?

Love the idea of more podcasts with crunchy
Ratatoskr finally acknowledged that the Fate stay night visual novel is good I can't wait for him to experience the End of the fate route, The ubw route and the Heaven's feels route
Didn't know where else to put this but I swear there was an Okami playthrough up the other day that I was dying to watch that now seems not to exist, can anyone help?
“Ok, I guess I’ll put this Arlo video I’ve watched on in the background while I- wait, who is this angry squirrel thing and why does he sound like Shadiversity’s alt account?
Don't know if it ever gets brought up in chat, but the website for Wilds says that more content for the beta will be revealed at a later date. Also, below the picture of Gypceros, there is a spot for another monster that has a big question mark icon. Arkveld is 100% going to be in the 2nd beta.
I just finished watching the series, and it was amazing! 🥰Rata and Derp make such a fantastic team, and Bruce is the perfect spice that makes everything even more enjoyable. 🌶✨ I’d love to see more like this in the future! 🙌🎉
Hey Rata, I was just curious if you frequently stream games for members only. I ask because your membership tier describes "movies, anime" as possible exclusive streams, but not video games, and I noticed some of your recent game streams were unlisted or removed. Thanks!
He literally just said on this very video that some videos got demonetized. The very first sentence in the chat.
@@AngRyGohan He probably skipped ahead after seeing the "stream starts soon." I did anyways lmao
Ratatoskr if you want live-service done right you should play Warframe, best and fairest f2p out there, its live service like deep rock
Bro what happened to your pacific driive stream vod
Could be a member exclusive like cruelty squad, although it isn't listed as accessible content when previewing the subscription.
40:54 pure joy😂
The popping sound you hear with skitty sounds more pronounced because she has bigger lips than the average person because she's black. 😄
The fact that you don't find out how disappointing the story is til you're most of the way through the game makes me so much more resentful than I would have been if they would have just signaled that right away, and not strung us along with all the meaningless hinting at story depth that wasn't actually there.
Arlo is HIGHLY underrated. Easily deserves far more attention and praise than he gets, fantastic script writing.
Great video my guy. ❤ One of the best final bosses of all time! Love this game. Congrats on the win!
26 attempts. Pretty good. I feel a lot of players jump into Eigong and get super frustrated because they're going all the way. I think this ending is fitting to get you some emotional support instead of ego destruction.
If you had no issue sticking zonai devices where you wanted then that clearly means you did not engage with the system as creatively as other players, which is clear from the gameplay in your videos. Items have very limited snapping points and trying to make complex vehicles which are symmetrical is torture. If you only created basic vehicles and placed the devices where nintendo wanted you to then of course you found it easy. I'd love to watch you try and build some complex flying vehicles and then tell me it's not jank, lmfao.
Such a shame he didn't get to fight her 3rd phase where she mutates and goes mental, I got to fight it but i completed all my companions side quests which Rata missed all of them in fact i would say he missed around 20% of the game content. I hope we get to see him fight the 3rd and the truly challenging phase.
don't get why he didn't try to get the true ending cuz he isn't gonna revisit the game anyway. He willingly skips through content just for the sake of spoiler free, which is annoying to watch when you're missing out on the coolest boss phase in the entire game.
@@Sephirothkingdom782after you beat the game it puts you to right before you get to the point of no return, I’m on the real last boss right now
@@Sephirothkingdom782 There is a boss replay that unlocks after clearing the game no matter what ending and there you can fight her with her 3 phases so i hope he checks it out.
I highly recommended getting the other ending yourself and not looking it up.
Did he really not manage to get the other ending before finishing? My will watching this LP has suddenly dissipated..
57:30 the song you are asking for is Link’s awakening (2019) sixth dungeon theme the mask dungeon
Man I looooove your laugh 😂
Hard Agree on the idea of Minish Cap aesthetic. Love that artstyle and the game itself.
There's no way the "we had a conversation" doesn't just means myiamoto just shut him up
I agree that Dante shouldn't have a beard, especially with a realistic art style. But you're just being silly. Play the game!
1:04:55 What about the "Dragon's Dogma" Dragon (srry forgot his name). I know it would be capcom advertising themselves but I think it would be a sick behemoth level fight
I’m gonna start calling you Rage-otoskr lol. Such a passionate dude. You’re on point with the game being overall better if everything were free but cosmetics cost some money. Every game I know of that is sub $20 but has cosmetics only MTX ends up garnering so much good will that the players will buy up a bunch of stuff as they go anyway. Deep Rock Galactic is like that. POE as well. Speaking of DRG, if Helldivers had something like the “overclock” system from DRG it would be a great addition that would generate a lot more replay ability.
This game’s story, music, visuals, and gameplay are all phenomenal make sure to play this one all the way through pls
I still think the story resolution would have been vastly improved by requiring Link/the player to acquire the Triforce to be able to change Zelda back. It was supposed to be an irreversible change, but the Triforce is historically an omnipotent wish-granting device. As an already-established power in the series, it would have been great to bring it in for such an occasion. This also would have expanded gameplay while seeking out the different parts. Not that they'd have done any better with this hypothetical quest than they did with the rest of the game, but a guy can dream.
It's going to get better!
Finally playing the best Sekiro-like game out there. Bosses in this game keep getting better and better till it reaches the Isshin level of peak.
