What about the Mojito feels cheaply made to you? I haven't had a chance to get my hands on one of those yet

@@addicted_to_watches Two things really bother me on it, one is the use of a very basic finished 4R35 with a very big range of possible accuracy and the other is the case finishing being all polished, no brushing, no sort or hairline polish to give contrast, it's feels like an entry model Seiko 5 with a fancy dial basically.

That's fair, though Seiko do even use that movement on more expensive watches too 😅 It does of course always depend on pricing but I have seen them available for around the $400 aud ($260 USD thanks to some terrible exchange rates at the moment) which isn't too much higher than many of their 5 watches

@@addicted_to_watches Guess it depends on the market but where i live it's a good 30-40% premium over a Seiko 5, it stings a bit.

That 30-40% range is a tough one hey. The other problem is even if you wanted to stick to the 5 range for more bang-for-buck, there aren't really any proper dress watches in the range, just dive and field mostly

Pretty much all of them came from either yahoo auctions or mercari in Japan. I think both of those sites are pretty well known at this point and there are plenty of hidden gems at great prices if you spend the time looking

Yeah, that's pretty unfortunate. With citizen's more recent rise in popularity especially with the enthusiast market, I have heard that they are expanding their range (at least in Australia) and actually bringing chronomaster models to the market here, so that would at least provide local service and repair options. Not that that helps you from 15 years ago but at least the situation is improving, so it's interesting to observe
