    “Chudo” in the subtitles!

      My bad, it's meant to be Chuda. 🤣 But I didn't actually add any myself so I'm guessing they're auto-generated by UA-cam itself

    I just ordered this in black and gold from their EU store, i wish they made a nice diver in the same 37mm. The one they got with the mat black, is too mat more like greyish, it takes a lot away from it.

      Nice! Hope you like the watch. The good thing is that San Martin seems to listen to the market, so if there is enough demand for a smaller diver like that, there's a chance they'll make it

      NIce, I was thinking about getting the black and gold one too. Also in regards to the 37mm diver I agree whole heartedly. Enjoy your new timepiece!

    Criteria is plural, therefore you can't have a criteria but you can have a criterion. You should look it up just to be sure I'm not fabricating this out of some sort of malice.😉

    How much did you pay for it? Do you feel the lug to lug is too long for the 37mm case?

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  9 місяців тому +1

      I got it for a little over 150usd. It's definitely longer than usual for a 37mm but I think that helps to give it a bit more presence and is a good thing

    how much is it

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  5 місяців тому +1

      At the moment it seems to be about 325usd on AliExpress but it was 256 in the recent sale that finished a few days ago

    • @loganj6203
      @loganj6203 5 місяців тому

      @addicted_to_watches So did you pay 256 for it and also do you think it's reasonable price for the watch or it's better to go Seiko or Hamilton brand

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  5 місяців тому

      I got mine second hand like I said in the video. I paid about $160usd which I think is a good price. 250 is not bad but if you can find a Hamilton at that price the Hamilton is probably better. It just depends on whether you need the Tudor black bay look or not

    I have to say it, what separates this company from a counterfeit manufacturer? They straight up copy watches with a change of some colors and change out the logo for their own. Noting individual about them. Calling them a homage is extremely generous.

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  9 місяців тому +3

      I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but the same could be said for the Invicta prodiver, many older Bulovas (Royal oak/day date lookalikes), even something like the Seiko skx031. So where do you draw the line that makes them acceptable? The existence of other models from the brand with original designs? Many of these AliExpress brands are venturing into original designs which can only be a good thing going forward. Then there are other brands like steinhart. Are they more legit because they may be swiss made or with swiss movements?
      There are many different takes when it comes to watches like these and personally I take the view of if you like it, wear it. As long as it's not claiming to be something else on the dial then I'm not going to tell someone else what they should or shouldn't be wearing.

    • @cjdontthink2
      @cjdontthink2 9 місяців тому

      @@addicted_to_watches I definitely agree with you can wear whatever you like and yes it isn't claiming to be something it isn't, just giving off the image that it is something else.
      In my opinion, a proper homage comes from the company who made the model themselves. This happens all the time in the car world. Take the BMW 3.0CSL hommage for example. So if another company makes an identical vehicle (maybe slight differences that aren't noticeable) and changes the BMW roundel to their own name; is it a homage still? Sounds like a copy to me.
      No hate btw, just an interesting conversation.

    • @addicted_to_watches

      No worries, I didn't interpret this as anything but an interesting conversation 👍
      I'm far from a car guy but if you look at something like a Suzuki Jimny, would that not be considered a homage to something like a jeep? To the casual observer they might as well be the same design just altered slightly and the size changed. Some would probably argue that that's not dissimilar to what some of these watch brands do.
      I think we get a bit wrapped up in this hobby sometimes as well and forget that the vast majority of people don't really notice or care about what's on your wrist in the first place. They're not going to know the black bay that this is based on, and the people that do notice your watch are probably watch nerds who would clearly know it's not the real deal. In that hypothetical, the only person the watch has to prove itself to is the wearer and I think a lot of people buying these like the look but can't justify the cost of the original, so it suits their purpose

      everything is an homage to Bregeut. even Tudor copied the snowflake hands from Edox. the entire industry is based on homages and minor changes.

      To quote Paul Rand, a famous graphic designer responsible for the IBM logo, Bacardi and others, "Don't try to be original, just try to be good."
