I’m a big fan of robots in général, and gobots are on of my first transforming bots! Cause they’re cheaper than transformers. I had 5 for a christmas and somme months after, my mother bought me Ultra Magnus but in the fantastic Diaclone version in a discount shop in Paris. I was so happy! In 1985, at the same time, I began to draw a transformer like comic 😂 and now I have too much gobots, robomachines, and so on! My préfères version for gobots is the Japanese version, more simple et effective, less show, and specially in faces. And I noticed a change in the artificial 😅

It turned out great, your videos are always useful when I'm fixing my broken toys! By the way I realized you managed to remove the grill/bumper from the main body, how you did it? I have one where the ratchets in the legs are broken but not sure if I can take the hips apart without damaging it, got any tips?

would the de-yellowing hydrogen peroxide work on non white pieces? lets say for a pink piece thats turned maroon?

Armor All is bad. It coats breathable materials like rubber with a chemical barrier. So not only did the jelly most likely not penetrate, but now the aged rubber will age and crack must faster because it cant breathe or absorb moisture. Better to use coconut oil, just the jelly soak, or quality furniture polish in a pinch. Coconut oil will even tell you when its fully absorbed by going from shiny to white. At that point just remove excess by wiping. AA should have been branded snake oil decades ago. Black Magic tire dressing is the only thing more damaging. It's mostly not sold anymore though. I heard from someone else who did a similar project on this toy say that applying a clear coat on unpainted plastic, especially white plastic, can cause the plastic to yellow again. To counter this, it’s recommended that you apply the clear coat before removing the masking tape, applying it to only the painted parts and not the bare plastic.

As a long time Transformers fan, I'd always just assumed the Gobots were a bit rubbish. But that Porsche 928 toy is absolutely lovely! As a Porsche fan, I'm going to have to pick one up. Great restoration video as well, I'm sure I'll wind up copying some of it!

Turned out great Mike. I've tried making a replacement part before using "Blue Stuff" as a mould and Milliput as the material and it just didn't really work. This looks like a much better method. Might have another crack at it this way.
