Awesome 😮 well done!
Thank you George! :)
Fascinating to see them under the chrome effect.
Thank you... Appreciate the comment! :)
Great result, the gold really is shining. Not too shabby indeed 👍
Thanks VTR! Appreciate the watch and comment! I might have to make a "not too shabby" Mr. Bobot shirt now, lol... ;)
@@MisterBobot OH you MUST make that for yourself! 😁
Wow looks amazing well done 👍.
Thanks! Appreciate the watch and the comment... :)
Love ur work & videos. I just subscribed to ur channel!!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed my videos. :)
I loved the shiny silvery paint you put on him. Pretty and shiny. Then, the gold. Pretty and shiny. And at the end of the video.....He's so beautiful. As Mr Bobot says "It's not too shabby!"😁
Thanks! I try to do everything I can to keep the restoration as close to the original as possible, so that means shiny, shiny, gold chrome. Thanks for the support Crasher... It's always appreciated.
@@MisterBobot Gorgeous, beautiful, pretty, shiny shiny gold chrome. I love it. I love to support you. You do excellent work - and you're my friend.
@@Crasher1982 Thanks! 😁
@@MisterBobot YW, gobot brother. :)
@@Crasher1982 Speaking of Gobots... Dr. Go should be up next... :)
Yay! Mr Bobot is back! :)
Thanks! :)
@@MisterBobot YW. *laughs like Crasher* 😁
The result looks brilliant! Thanks for sharing in detail how you restored 3PO! Instant sub from Germany! I really like the way you make your videos and appreciate the thorough effort you put into them! Best regards from ImperialShipyards.
Thank you! I appreciate the comment and the sub. Glad you are enjoying the videos! :)
The result is realy great, looks very good 👍
Thanks Thomas! I really appreciate that... :)
Very cool! Took my suggestion & did him huh? I'm honored & what you did was really cool! He came out very nice!
Did you have problems with loose limbs before you repainted him? I ask because in general that's an issue with the ESB release of C3PO because of the toy. It's very common to find loose legs especially on these guys.
And I don't know if you would be interested but Trash Compactor has several repainting videos on vintage collection droids & has custom belly stickers on his Esty store to make them look like they've got wiring. Not true vintage stuff, neat looking regardless!
Again, cool video man!
Thanks, glad you liked it! My figure didn't have any limb joint issues, but his chrome was all beat up. Those custom "belly stickers" sound really cool though. It might be neat to try one of those on this figure to see how it would look. Thanks again for the watch, comment, and support... much appreciated! :)
Looked pretty good in silver
Yes it did! Reminded me of the Death Star Droid... :)
That's what I told him too. 😁
Hey everybody, hope you enjoy this C-3PO restoration video. Please feel free to leave your comments below! :)
Great job! It looks great. What mix ratio did you use for the gold finish?
@@michaelangelopeters Thank you very much! I think the ratio was about 30 parts topcoat to 5 parts gold tint. I had to kind of "eyeball" the rest based on consistency / thickness of the mixture for the airbrush... :)
I loved it.
@@MisterBobot Awesome. Thanks! I'm going to try it on my Black Series C3PO.
@@michaelangelopeters Great! Please let us know how it goes and if you have any more questions! :)
Brilliant Mike another fantastic restoration video.
Thanks Simon! :)
Lovely, isn't it, Simon? Mike and his companion Mr Bobot deserve every like comment and sub that they get.
@@Crasher1982 Mr. Bobot does most of the work. ;)
@@MisterBobot Mr Bobot is awesome.
Good thinking Bobot
Thank you George! :)
Great video. Thank you for sharing these awesome tips. Can you please make a black series C-3PO figure like this or have you made a black series version with the vac metal paint?
Hi John, glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching! No, I haven't done a black series C-3PO figure like this, but I do take requests if you'd like to send me one. :)
That's great to know. If I happen to find another one I'll definitely send it to you. I'd love to see a Black Series vac metal C-3PO figure.
@@johnbest1978 Please do! I'd love to try it out and it would make a great video... :)
Not too shabby my friend
Thank you!
What chrome pen do you use for chrome on transformers?
That was a great video! I loved it. I was wondering how you use the chrome in a sprayer. I am trying to repair the chrome on a Dragonzord and I wanted to know how you would go about doing it?
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I've used the Molotow refill chrome paint in my airbrush and the Green Stuff World chrome as well. Both work very well.
Hey Bob Bot long time
Hey George! Hope you're doing well and I'm glad to hear from you. :)
Glad to see a c3po without that stupid silver leg.
Thanks! :)
Would've been interesting to see you mask off the lower right leg and leave it silver.
Yep, that would be kind of cool looking... maybe a future project? Thanks for the view and the comment! :)
Very nice. A good result. Something I could suggest with the video though, it's that lighting is inconsistent, so you may want to think about that for your videos. Sometimes it can get very dark.
Hi Robert, thanks for the watch and comment! I agree, the lighting in my older videos was not very good. I have made some improvements since then and hopefully my more recent videos are better. Thanks!
@@MisterBobot Cool. That was just the first one I came across and saw. Great result though.
@@roberthaynes8830 Thanks! :)
Which version is this? Cool vid BTW.
Thanks! It's the 1982 release for Empire Strikes Back... :)

@@thomashensel5645 Awesome! :)
Bobot
:)
Not bad not bad.. but i got some bad News. In this reality we live in today his right lower leg is now silver!!...check your copies of Star Wars. This is NOT a joke.
I based the restoration on the other reality... not the one that the Large Hadron Collider created.
since he didn't clean him first, all this is going to fall off.
The toy was first cleaned, off camera, using LA's Totally Awesome Cleaner: ua-cam.com/video/bF-0EPzhIIk/v-deo.htmlsi=nsWb5sImDlRiivwz&t=55 And I'm happy to report that the new gold chrome is still on the figure. :)
It's a shame you re-painted that particular C-3PO figure... The stripped plastic color on that one was great...
It did have a nice copper color to it. But if I left it that way, it wouldn't of been much of a restoration.
@@MisterBobot Personally, I would have just put a simple clear coat on it and called a customization video instead of a restoration video... :)
@@michaelmiller44820 Sure, but not much of a challenge there... ;)
