Sorry, but comparing an Edirol from 2002 or a Focusrite with RME and claiming that the higher prices of RME are only for driver quality and long-term driver support is nonsense. Just FYI: TotalMix FX does not use vector graphics, ensuring lag-free operation and metering performance with minimal CPU usage, particularly on older systems with weaker CPUs. You missed mentioning that at least fix scaling options to 135, 200, and 270 percent exist. I would also suggest avoiding level changes and staying more on the topic. I had no interest in Edirol or having to watch trivial operation tasks like volume changes or listening to music. Sorry again, but that was a boring review.

Well , what do you prefer between nwa55 or nwa306? Does battery life extends on 306 if disabling unwanted apps? Sound quality differences between two sony’s is high? Will use only to listen to mp3 files. Would not use it for streaming

Hello, due to you owned 55 and 306 i have a few questions to ask, Does 306 and 55 sound is different? Can you tell any differences ? On 306 after disabling apps you dont want will battery last longer ? Disabling google apps will also means no background functions will be on? Have you deleted apps you havent used? There is some tutorial how to do it but not sure if that works due to tutorial is for nwa55. Thanks

Hmm… cannot make decision yet, should i upgrade from 45 to 55 or 306? The nw-a306 has some issues that i cannot test it myself, cap sound and android os installed, that u can only disable apps… dont get it what sony have done.

Most people dislike the proprietary mounting system, but I like the dimensions and perforation of this board compared to others at a similar price, and it should have enough clearance underneath to mount my Fender Engine Room power supplies.

Yours is the only review I've watched that mentioned the Android 12 could be upgraded to 13. Also, thanks for saying you didn't need to associate a Google acct with it and the bit about the Aurora store. I just ordered one from Japan, $70 less than Amazon is selling the capped US version for.

I went ahead and ordered an AW-N306 from Japan (so uncapped) for $75 less than Amazon has the US capped version. Had to settle for a blue one, though, but I'll but a case from Amazon.

Thats nice. I am really torn between a portable dac/amp like mojo2 vs a DAP. People say that DAPS get old really fast, like 3-5 years time while a portable DAC with my phone would be best. Whats your opinion on this? How would it compare a DAC like CM18p or Mojo2 with the sony WM1ZM2? Im between the SP3000M/T and the sony now for DAPS and CM18p or mojo 2 for portable DAC if going this route

I really like my uncapped Sony A306 (paid £200 here in Japan), but I find that only get 30+ hours of battery life if I turn off EQ and everything else and go "direct". If I turn on any of the audio enhancements battery life drops to less than 20 hours. That's still not bad, but disappointing.

the m300 is the sleeper entry level player that everyone should get to try for at least a week before trying others.

I've still got a NW-A105 euro capped model and the battery life as well as the volume is dire. This stops me from buying any Sony UK DAP. I recently bought the M300 and think it's a great device, so much more power to drive IEMs whereas the Sony is capped and has that annoying message and volume reduction when listening above 85 for any length of time. Personally I wouldn't buy the 306 as I don't feel it's worth twice the price of the M300.

Are there any other Android based DAPs in this size range? These seem to be the only options I've been able to see.

I had the same problem on the m300 pausing when the song playing swiches from 24bit to 16bit in UAPP, but I figured it out how to fix it. Go to this setting in UAPP called "internal HiRes audio", and under "HiRes driver flags", manually choose "Direct" and "Direct PCM", then it should be good.I'm guessing that the app is not configured well engough for this device, anyway, I hope you find this helpful.

Expensive """"audiophile""" DAPs are quite bad when you put attention to stuff like performance and battery life, even worse if uses Android (at that point you are just using a neutered smartphone). That's why i only look at sub $100 DAPs: those have their own and more optimized OS and more appealing form factor. Own a Hiby R2 gen 2 that costed me like 70 bucks and quite happy with it. Previously owned a Ruizu A50 (only $40) that was amazing but sadly fell to the ground and the screen got shattered badly (glass screen)

i feel the endgame of Ziigaat is still there relatively unknown collab with HBB the Jupiter. It is still the only iem in their lineup that uses ESTs and from what I've gleamed online seems to be one of the few on the market that used both BAs and Dynamic driver for the bass. I feel since it is a HBB Collab it'll be bass heavy like the Doscinco which i have heard and love.

The volume on the EHX is lower so it’s not a fair comparison. I don’t necessarily love how ethereal and effected the infinite sounds. I think it would be great in some situations.
