See here is the thing, ads in general are “evil”? I mean imagine I was making a product, decided to take like half the money I could use to make a product, and paid a company who steal personal data from people to try to manipulate those people into wanting a product they don’t currently want or need whether they can afford it or not while they try to watch a video. That’s not to say that “evil” can’t serve a purpose like showing ads for poorly known products on an actual shopping website in a way that allows people to opt out. Of course this isn’t what ANY ad company does. The worst part? It’s our fault. Not for watching ads but for buying from companies who use these large predatory ad companies. As long as the producers of goods think they will get a better return on investment from paying ad companies than using that MASSIVE budget to actually make the product better we’ll keep getting ads. Really think about it next time you buy, do you WANT a product that costs double what it should simply to pay for ads? Do you WANT to encourage companies to pay google to abuse the mentally ill, kids, and people with addiction issues while also annoying you with ads? Really?

Specifically the quote "Advertising is only Evil when It advertises Evil things.". I perhaps shouldn't have assumed it was common knowledge though even when it comes to these kind of videos, i apologize as it is a bit of a leap to assume anyone would understand the reference lol The point is I don't really like the term but it works as a way to describe an overall harm.
