IDANIA SUAZO AT SUNO 2011--SUNO CORONATION 2011--"Miss SUNO" Idania Suazo. 2011 was a very significant period for SUNO: SUNO's Founding Chancellor, Dr. Emmett Bashful, passed; then Governor Jindal, tried to Merge SUNO and UNO into the "University of Greater New Orleans" (after strong protests, the motion failed); SUNO honored Faculty and Staff with 25+ Years of Service; and happily SUNO celebrated its first International Miss SUNO Coronation--Idania Suazo was from Honduras; she was also an honored member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (AKA--one of the "Divine Nine" Black Greek organizations). This ceremony was one for the books and featured one of the largest cross-sections of high achievers that SUNO has produced!
