I can only say thanks for this, since this gives me the confidence that I one day can replace the battery. As we know this accumulators are the No1 show stopper for these devices which is a joke since this is a €9,- device in lots. I found a 700mA 3,8V with an appropriate size already in google within minutes. IMHO companies should be forced to provide replaceable batteries only for environment protection. I wonder why the EU does not demand such things but concentrates on banane curving and vacuum cleaner power and other bull.

The problem with VA is often the horrendous viewing angles, nothing more annoying than seeing the colors shift all around edges of your perception because VA has to be viewed straight on to get the most accurate colors, honestly very disorienting.

Is it normal if I already see this IPS glow in the corners on a completely dark screen from looking straight at it from about 70 cm distance? Especially in the dark to be fair but with my desk lights its a little noticeable on like YT cause I use dark mode everywhere

I don't know if i'm lucky or have weird eyes, but i had until 5 hours ago a MSI VA 165hz monitor (forgot the model, something 273CQC or whatever). There was absolutely NO ghosting or smearing. None. And yes, it really was a VA. not an IPS, OLED, TN, what have you. The colors were awesome, and the blacks... oh man, the blacks. Deepest, perfectest blacks i've seen on a monitor EVER. (That sounded weird oops lol) And again, NO SMEARING. No ghosting, no overshooting, no nuthin'. And then my cat slapped it to death, making it fall to the ground and fracture the screen to death. I miss my screen :(

I bought a 165hz Sceptre monitor and the ghosting was terrible. My old monitor at 60hz actually looked better..

I used VA panel for about a year didn't know much about black smearing but after using an IPS panel, I couldn't go back to VA because image looked blurry after IPS, but of course IPS has that annoying backlight bleed. In the end I wished that I went for a high quality VA panel.

The pcba design is very much poorer than sony wh-1000 series.

Watching in 2024 due to black Friday sales.

TN 60 hz are the best

I love the GX85(GX80 or GX7Mii) and GX9. They are feature rich, small, and lightweight. The EVF is small but adequate, not garbage. Also it is there. Many small bodies lack an EVF. Love the touch screen. As this is a photography centric body it is right that the screen tilts. 16MP is all this body needs. The video feature are what you’d expect from a LUMIX camera. Why the microphone jac wasn’t included is a head scratcher. Image quality is excellent. The L monochrome B&W jpeg is very good. The L monochrome D on the GX9 is my favorite B&W jpeg. I was so happy last month to purchase in NYC a GX85 with the battery charger for $300. What a bargain. Glad this body and GX9 aren’t cult classics. Hard to believe this is a 10 year old camera. I highly recommend the GX85/9 for street/travel/EDC.

QUESTION: Toshiba has said the 55" C350 model I just bought from Best Buy is an IPS. However, the screen behaves like a VA with verry poor veiwing angles that lose brightness and color - especially with a color such as orange. For some reason the blue colors aren't as noticeable. But take just one step to the left or right changes the color intensity. That is NOT the behavior of an IPS. That is what happens with a VA. Toshiba uses a VA panel in the 75" model. I'm wondering if the 55" model now uses a VA panel for 2024. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Viewing angles are important.

It would seem my LG 32GK650F VA panel is able to differentiate the black smearing test. This is excellent to see as it gets all the benefits of low contrast, accurate colors, and its cheap. Pretty jazzed!
