Haas Toolchange Macro any tool in any slot of the carousel
This macro allows me to assign any tool to a carousel slot and then call it via gcode , if a tool is not assigned to the carousel it asks for a manual tool change. At the end of each operation the correct G43H# is assigned to the tool number.

A quick macro to prove the concept of the spindle doesnt need to accelerate up to max rpm as quick as it does with the parameters set by Haas. Now the machine does not error and shutdown when spindle commanded to on.

Hey I just tried this and it works a lot better then my step settings I added to my post processor. How did you integrate your macro? Do you call this up as a sub program and pass it a programs commanded rpm? Or alias codes?
Hello, This is very nice and clean job, well done have a question where did you get that pulley or how can I get one, my ballscrew is 2505, and I would like to make somting similar, but I'm stack with the pulley, thanks for sharing 👍
When I have it finished I will share it , still working out ant potential bugs and working out how to get post processor to assign slots . I am not a programmer so stumbling through coding it all
Feeds and speed please
Yes it would great to see the macro. Any idea if this can work on a classic controller that does not have coolant height in the offset?
This is genius man! We've been struggling with having to manually change G-Code after every post to match the tool number (height offset technically) that we've assigned to it. So you could call tool 30 and you told the machine, through the macro, that tool 30 is in slot 2 for example? Would you mind sharing the macro?
Thank you so much for the tutorial!!! I have watched it 10-15 times probably before i was ready to learn it, +probe was connected in reverse wiring. It is super simple now when i tested it but something was blocking me to start slowly and learn. THANK you :)))
What spindle are you running?
Nice!!!
Какой диаметр вала швп?
Can you share your software with me?
Great video and well explained. I'm a bit late to the party, but I''m wondering if you would know how to get the 2 'half' buttons next to the 'start probing'' button onto the main screen? I had a crack based on what I learned here, but they're a bit more complicated as they change their appearance. I've got myself into the habit of testing the probe to get the "PROBE ACTIVE"' message before hitting "START PROBING". (I keep forgetting to put the magnetic connector on the collet) and it would be nice to have these buttons / LEDs on the main screen
would love to know where you got those pullys
We make them.
Hi Daniel, Do you have a link to where we could find out any more information about the kit? What bore size pulley is on the spindle?
Best bet is to send a message to tomahawkcnc on facebook or email tomahawkcnc@gmail.com , we do kits for various mills .
Great
What are the benefits/reason?
Step 1: Have 2 mills.
That's the way it is, with the second CNC mill Bernardo BF 25, I converted my first one, Bernardo BF25 l 😂😂😂
what probe is that your using?
Could you do a video on how you wrote the macro for this?
🍻 thanks

BF16V CNC Conversion kit coming?
Yes we are doing one for a customer , bit small but the customer is always right. If u look closely it is in background
@@tomahawkcnc5583 I'm currently converting one as it's physically as large as I can fit in my tiny workshop.
what’s the price tag on one of these mate?
Send me a email as it depends on what morors etc you want or just plates. tomahawkcnc@gmail.com
hello, I would like to get this macro M20068. where can I find it? please
Just program a G68 R( your angle) into the gcode and then a G69 at the end . The macro is to utilise our custom screenset and wont work on a std screenset.
Good Job. I have converted the slightly bigger casting than this, the 25 size. I wouldn't do it again, these machines are not rigid enough. Two notes: 1) the Z mount is not rigid enough. When you put it together you will find out that you will have backlash, tha ballscrew mount will move on you. 2) Did you install angular contact /thrust bearings in the BK/FK mounts? Myself, I made two opposing flats on the ballscrews so that I can tighten the retaining nut properly.
We do kits for the 48 , 30,28 and now the 20 , backlash is not a issue when using proper angular contact bearing rather than the std chinese ball bearings , and good quality duel balkscrew nuts. Yes none of the little benchtop mills are rigid comparison to a proper VMC , and bigger us better but for doing light duty work they perform quite well . My recommendation to customers us to get the biggest machine they can afford but most already own a mill so convert that.
@@tomahawkcnc5583 Fair enough. I didn't know you make kits, I will take a look. The backlash on the point (1) I wrote, in my case happened because the Z axis ballscrew mount was moving before the head itself started to move when changing direction. I decided to make the Z axis ballscrew mount taller, and mounts now with 4 screws. This source of backlash was eliminated.
hi, may you tel me how can I get the M20068 macro
Its a custom macro that works only with our modified screenset and custom post processor
thanks a lot very good,
Wouldnt be much easier and faster to do it with a dial probe?
i dont think that is 7000mm/min, 7000mm/ min is almost 12 cm / sec
Yep
Agree that doesn't look like 7000 and the ramp seems to be hitting the speed limit
Perfect explanation thank you. Cheers, JAYTEE
Hiya, what ballscrew did you use for the cross slide ? I have a similar lathe, thinking of swapping the leadscrews for ballscrews. Your CNC conversion looks pretty nice, cheers
Custom ballscrew setup , nothing off the shelf would fit in thd available space
@@tomahawkcnc5583 would you be able to share the size and plans if possible ? It'd be much appreciated, cheers
I have converted the same exact casting. You didn't show the Z ballnut mount and I can tell you that this is very tricky to get correctly. There are two reasons for this, first there is quite a distance from the Z carriage (where the ballnut mount goes) to the Z ballscrew axis and this leverage will give you backlash issues if you don't secure the ballnut mount correctly. On my machine I had to grow a bit vertically the z bs nut mount so that 1) it will not deflect for sure 2) spans in bigger vertical distance so minimize leverage. Additionally the the machining in the casting where the mount goes is at least terrible so you will get some rocking there. Before you assemble everything TEST FOR BACKLASH as much as you can.
Have a look at 15.00min , ballscrew adapter clearly shown - we use none of the original leadnut mounting.
Good job. You get my sub. I'm soon going to go through the exact same process.
Very nice 👍 Do you make any kits for the Optimum MH 50V?
Not yet

Wow
I want to automate only my x axis for the bf20lv at this stage. Can you supply double ball leadscrew 730mm long.
Well done for the work! they look very well done. Would it be possible to have the drawings to be able to replicate them?
What is the motor for X and Z ,how much Nm
3NM
Hi mister! I hope you are well! Subtitles are not available for this video, can you enable this feature? If so, then thank you very much!
Thank you very much for this. I have been completely baffled by both the software itself and the (NOT) help file, but your explanation makes it all perfectly simple.
Здравствуйте! На заказ гайки делаете?
Hi Daniel, I note that the conversion is about $2,500. Is there a list of parts enclosed in kit and I believe you have just had an addition to this kit? if so, how much is this variation.? Lastly, do you supply templates for the correct locations of all modifications including lubrication points. Thanks in advance, Jeff
The kit is available as just a plate mount set or as a kit with double nut bslkscrews , thrusts ,plum connectors , closed loop steppers and power supplies
From the UCCNC interface it seems the feedrate never exceed 500mm/min with is 1/3 of your setting. I'm I wrong?
It's foing short adaptive moves and with the acceleration settings due to leadscrew it cant reach max velocity in the short move . Once the machine was converted to ballscrews and settings optimised the acceleration was improved.
Great videos very informative are you happy with that ATC spindle if so could you tell me the brand and model number many thanks
Many thanks Daniel. Please, on my UCSB bob, does the black npn cable connect to any available Input or Output point? The probe instructions indicate that the yellow cable goes to +5v to +12v and blue connects to ground. My challenge is with the black cable. Many thanks in advance
Normally the black wire will output +ve so it goes to input +ve and input -ve to earth on the ucsb
@@tomahawkcnc5583 Many thanks bud. This helps. I was challenged understanding the wiring diagram in the UCSB manual.
Any chance you can share the m6 macro?
i hope the lead screw is a good quality ball screw rather than the average acme thread screw. It will eat up an acme screw in just a few months of that long. Same with the cross feed screw.
Yes ballscrews added for both axis
Awesome bloke, looking forward to the next instalment.
This looks like a very nice conversion kit. Do you any conversion kits for the Optimum Optimill MH 50 series?
