    This recipe 😆 I use this since 4-5 years to wash all my new plants (or my annual spring wash) because it’s soft on calathea and not bad for velvet leaves 😅 I can not say if it’s go for pest management, but I never had pest in my home except some fungus gnats 🤷‍♀️ maybe this is for something finally! Very good information and good to know. Very nice video Memo 💛🇨🇦

    Castile soap 15 ml & 1 l water, noted, sounds awesome🙂
    Your Monstera obliqua looks stunning - the best looking one I have seen so far🙂
    Anthurium Villenaorum: right, I don´t find it as easy either. I have for 1,5 years. It is a slow consistent grower, but it´s really hard to have perfect leaves (they get easily torn, it is very sensitive to too much water etc.).
    Tips on Alocasia Azlanii: patience 😀 Mine is 1,5 year old grown from a corm in pon, self-watering pot, 5 leaves in total. This year she made only 1 leaf. It´s the size of my hand, but still - 1 leaf since Christmas. However, when repotting her, I discovered massive corms (which I intentionally don´t remove). Then she made 5 blooms, then split itself and seems to be making 2 (hopefully) leaves at the same time. I honestly don´t know what the plant wants, but it seems to happily live in its slow alocasia universe and doesn´t mind me impatiently starring at it😀

    Thanks Memo. I'll try the soap next time. I go in boots & all with Yates Scale Gun 🇦🇺, which is brilliant but does cause leaf damage on my ferns. One tip....those green velcro strips you use can harbour all sorts of pests, including mealy bugs so drench those as well. One request...could you show us the other angle of your conservatory please? I'm fascinated when you look around behind camera. And I'd REALLY like to know your humidity levels. I really struggle keeping mine up. Thanks so much. Jules X. 🙏

    • @Houseplantygoodness
      @Houseplantygoodness  17 годин тому

      Thanks, Jules! 🌿 Yates Scale Gun sounds intense! 😅 Definitely try the Castile soap next time-it’s much gentler on the leaves. Oh, and great tip on the velcro strips, I’ll make sure to give them a good drench too! 🙌 I’ll see what I can do about filming the other angle of the conservatory for you in the next update 😊 As for humidity, I wish I had a tip, my space sits at 90-92% humidity if i do not run the dehumidifier 😬😬😬😬😬-let me know if you’d like some tips on boosting humidity levels! 🙏

      @Houseplantygoodness yes, most pests (especially spiders) don't like the smell of peppermint, and the tea tree is known to disrupt the nervous system of pests as well.

      Thank you so much! 😊 The Monstera obliqua has definitely been a pleasant surprise this season. Totally agree on the Anthurium Villenaorum-it can be such a tricky plant to keep looking pristine! Your Alocasia Azlanii journey sounds like quite the adventure too! 😅 It’s amazing how they have their own timeline. Seems like you’ve got a super healthy one with those massive corms! 🌱

    8:14 I’m wondering if Pon is good for the thinner leaved Alocasias but not for the thick ones. It seems like you’re having the same experience. I have a Dragon Scale and a Black Velvet that have been half dead since I transferred them to Pon. But the thinner leaved ones are thriving. I may switch those 2 back to soil like you have.

    • @Planty-Mandy
      @Planty-Mandy 3 дні тому +1

      Edit: the brown (also called green soap or golden soap), might not be as natural as it says on the bottle. Black soap, however, is. Rubrocinctum Platinum can’t give me 2 leaves without any brown, crispy tips. I thought it was because I grow it in my low humidity apartment. But yours, much bigger shows the same pattern.
