What Really Happened To Ye That Day...
This is the story about Kanye West's TMZ incident and how Eric Weinstein, Candace Owens, Joe Rogan and more were involved in weird ways. We all know what went down that day but from a pop culture perspective this moment shifted everything and everyone remembers where they were that day.

Do you know if GOD didn't create the atmosphere which GOD calls heaven(firmament) We wouldn't be able to exist since water would overrun the world So if we can't exist land animals and fowls can't exist either and let's say we miraculously could(I'm just talking about us humans because we are more favored by GOD, which means animals still couldn't exist) It still would be useless because: the atmosphere is necessary for the transmission of sound, It is also Necessary for plants to exist and grow And again.... No air

I feel you on moving from being a Stan to a superfan. I spent about 10 years fighting with friends and family defending Kanye against their biases, then 2018 came around and it got reeeal tough. That's when I had to start saying "just because he's being an indefensible asshole NOW, doesn't mean you were right about him THEN!"

Slavery is a choice is give me liberty or give me death. I believe Frederick Douglas spoke about this very same philosophical topic. Ye just doesn’t express himself properly sometimes. Compare his two Drink Champs interviews. First one was a manic high and legendary. Second was a manic downward spiral.

Kanye has a point. How can a people revolt when they are in a strange place with no safe place.. Not wanting to die was stronger than revolting... He received backlash cause black people move off of emotion and his statement involved deep emotions.

Kanye hasnt changed his name (on the writing credits), so please don't give him the artist known as Prince! Kanye has a severe mental illness, and every time Ye has gone viral is when he is floridly manic. He has some Cluster B PD traits, so when he shows up in the world seemingly "well," he does say some wild attention seeking behaviors! Now, he has some internalized and overt anti-black sentiments.

This is a great take on the matter. It’s obvious that there was a plan to get rid off Ye but didn’t work. I can relate to Ye being that I’m from Chicago & seeing the documentary on Netflix helps me understand him better. I do feel that he says a lot of things before thinking it through, but it’s also intentional being that he wants to grab a lot of attention by using what he feels he can relate to from the ones that influence him.

I don't exactly remember where I was when the news dropped about his comments regarding slavery. I just remember articles in my Google feed talking about what he said and how he tried to delete a bunch of tweets. I think one site had already documented all of them and boasted about how you could read everything he had ever commented there. So I was quick to dismiss the whole story as Kanye being Kanye. However the more I learn about the whole situation the more tragic it seems to me. In my mind the start of Kanye's downward spiral was his mother's death. I honestly believe since then there's been an onslaught of people trying to use him as he searches for someone he can rely on as much as he did her. I think she was his North Star. Now I think he tends to be around enablers and exploiters, and if he has anyone who truly cares then they are probably just pushed out in some manner by the others. And in this situation you can't ignore the man's mental health and any substance that may have had an affect on his cognitive abilities. Sometimes the ill think out loud and spout streams of consciousness. So they mean what they say but don't exactly say what they mean. And in a world where the bottom line matters more than anything else shocking sound bites with no context is all you're going to get. All this to say Jeremy's idea about Kanye being influenced by Candace Owens and Eric Weinstein is extremely feasible. I'm not trying to convince anyone to like Kanye or excuse his actions or words. I do think though that if he had anybody who really cared then they would have tried to get him help long ago regardless of his fame or fortune. I believe his wealth and fame enable him in bad ways. That cliche of power corrupting applies here. In the end he is what happens when you treat people, especially mentally ill ones, as products to be profited from. I think this is highlighted at 23:47 "... you're a long-term property that matters ..." not you're sick person who needs help and treatment. No, the money you make that company matters more than you the person. The absolute repulsiveness of that line just keeps ringing around my head.

It blows my frigging mind how Candace Owens is in this TMZ video. And yeah, also not recognizing that Kanye did indeed openly admit to addiction but I didn't think much about it. I remember so vividly seeing the heads of those folks in the cubicles. Candace with her hand raised while asking everyone if they're free feels like someone photoshopped her into my memories. Didn't know who she was at the time but still this is crazy to see again with insight into his addictions.

As a newer hip hop fan, i really appreciated every single thing you prefaced with “ok most people know, but on the off chance you don’t …” . This was a really well edited essay. @@jeremyhecht for instance, Harriet Tubman was referred to as "Moses of Her People." Black faith traditions invoke(d) the story of Exodus as a prophetic parallel of the suffering but ultimate triumph of the African diaspora. As far as song, look at the spirituals on through Gospel, you will find how popular the metaphor/comparison is; and of course records like Marley's 'Exodus' or Isaac Hayes' 'Black Moses.' I feel like I’m getting a view of how these bad ideas swirl around in Elite circles and when they get down to us plebs we shake our heads and wonder how can this be.
