“Ain’t no other kings in this rap thing, they siblings, nothing but my children, one shot, they disappearing” is a quote from Biggie, and it serves the purpose of declaring his position and paying homage to the greats, which is what he did throughout the project. Personally, I feel like my generation failed because so many reactors caught the bar but didn’t know where it came from.
@@ThamiThango to be fair, Biggie said that line nearly 30 years ago in the third verse of an album cut. A lot of the people reacting today weren’t born then. I love funk, but I don’t know every song or lyric from the 60s and 70s.

@StillWaters101 welcome champ! There's a few more just keep your ears open. Oh and some don't believe verse 2 on man at the garden is Kendrick talking to Cole but he uses temptation and cure back to back bars which are both j Cole songs. Everything lines up.
@cartiercartier2171 Oh okay I for sure would have missed that because I dont listen to Cole like that, I only know 2 songs of his by name thag I happened to like: 95 South and She Knows, and only found out this year She Knows was by him. Same with Toosie Slide and Drake, never would have guessed that was him from the snippets I heard, thought it was probably NBA YoungBoy or something for some reason. Anyway, I seen a reaction that explained how "the temptation and cure" bar in the 2nd verse of Man at the Garden is about how its human nature to take the easy way out (giving into temptation=taking the cure) vs withstanding the pain of disciplining oneself. Like Dot was say he brings his under subjection by doing pushups and or waking up at 6am to run 6 miles on some David Goggins type mindset...to have the crazy stamina and wind he displayed on stage at the pop out concert. But I'll check out the verse again with Cole lame as in mind this time lol. Thanks again!

@@cartiercartier2171 i couldn't make the connections to Cole because I don't listen to enough of his music to know what Dot was responding to. Cole is overrated to me. He reminds me of Jayz who I also felt was overrated but he had more hits than Cole. 95 South is quite literally the only rap song of his that stands out to me. Most times he just sounds like if Drake rapped like Jay Z to me.
Love your breakdown. You're one of the few that emphasize drake mentioning Whitney on push ups and the danger that putting $ in the streets causes. I appreciate your honesty and perspective ✌🏽😊
I don’t understand why some people have problems with the sample on Squabble, it’s very much a vibe and Ken still bared us up it’s almost a perfect song, the call and response is a little too similar to Not Like Us but my god it’s amazing. That song was very very popular in Mexican communities in the 80s and when I heard it I flipped, it’s so fire.
people are going to always find something to complain about! I loved that song so I don't have a problem with the sample.. "Squabble Up" is good but my favorite uptempo song on the album is "hey now." 😁
This might be the best album I’ve ever heard, rooted deeply in the spirit of sports and competition. Kendrick has always used distinct mediums to express his ideas-Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers as theater, DAMN. as a magazine, and Good Kid, M.A.A.D City as a short film. Here, he channels the essence of sports, using its competitive nature to frame the narrative. One of the album’s central themes is Kendrick’s homage to his penmanship, which takes center stage on the closing track, “Gloria.” The recurring voice of a Mexican woman symbolizes his pen, embodying its fears, creativity, and other expressions. This connection is cleverly woven into the intro and outro. In the intro, the woman voices her fear of what Kendrick is about to do, followed by his reference to driving and listening to Anita Baker. In the outro, she says, “Me and you, listening to Anita,” bringing the story full circle. Kendrick then reflects on his love for his craft, highlighting the deep, personal bond he shares with his pen(artistry). By merging the competitive spirit of hip-hop with a celebration of his artistry, Kendrick delivers a thematically rich and masterfully executed project. This album encapsulates his mission to bring hip-hop back to its roots: competition. From the Control verse to “Watch the Party Die,” Kendrick has been driving this vision. The latter, in particular, feels like a declaration-an effort to revive the essence of hip-hop by embracing its competitive heart. This album embodies that ethos completely.
It's good to see you dropping content. That's word to Kit Cudi. I definitely agree that Kendrick is staking his claim as greatest to ever do it with this album. I think he's easily the greatest currently. Of all time though, I still got Pac in that 1 spot. I don't really want to see a Wayne v. Kendrick battle, but if it did happen I think Kendrick would handle his business. Nobody should want to deal with Kendrick currently. He's a man on a mission right now. As for where GNX ranks in Kendricks albums, I think I have it at 4 behind MMATBS, TPAB, and GKMC. It should be noted all Kendrick albums have 0 skips. I even still listen to Poetic Justice.
I am a feelings and energy person. Kendrick music brings me through multiple emotions in a listening session. I love that he attempt to electrify us❤ oh and I may be reaching but I would love a collab album with him and Sza after that Luther flip 😍😍💪🏼
I remember hearing talk of a TDE anniversary album that quieted down once the beef started 🤔 heart pt 6 would be great teaser for a black hippy reunion track
I heard from his camp, HE WILL IGNORE HIM. Kendrick did what we know him to do. He called Wayne after getting the SB and assured him he would include him. Wayne surprised them by playing victim, as if they’d not discussed it at all. So those political games industry folks play. Kendrick is done with those doing that. I think that too includes Wayne. Some folks don’t deserve respect. I do hope he does NOT include Wayne. Leave that fool alone.
He also paid homage to Ice T in the video, that woman against the wall is from an Ice T album cover, and Ice T was also one of them dudes who talked shit when it was going on.
I would object to this being the best that Kendrick has ever rapped because "to rap" is very nuanced. He definitely "spazzed" on the project and it's one of my favorite of his works. But in terms of mind-bending flows, technicality, metaphors, similes, double as well as triple entendres, etc, the aforesaid are noticeably absent, and intentionally. Great due diligence overall though. 😉

There was fan theories that Kendrick was going to expose the daughter or some giant conspiracy Drake is at the center of (I enjoyed the conspiracy theory subreddits myself.....) Kendrick released on 11.23.25. There are 112325 days to a year on Neptune. Pharrell said Kendrick was the next Jimmy Hendrix. Hendrix' birthday was 11.27.42. .... haha see how crazy you guys are
18:35 This gets glossed over way too much, with all of the other things happening I suppose it is understandable but it is a very important component to why Kendrick has gone to the extremes that he has. I'm glad you spent time to focus on the fact that Drake was so desperate to win a rap battle that he was recklessly throwing money in the streets which, as you so rightly point out, could have gone so many different ways that all end in tragedy. It's actually a miracle that nothing tragic happened, and Kendrick has every right to be feeling the way he feels about it, and those who continue to give Drake a pass. It's like people haven't learned even with the murder of Nipsey being so close to home... It further proves how completely out of touch Drake is when it comes to hood politics, street life and the things therein. He's a trained actor and pulls off the image, can mimic the lingo and slang but without actually living in that environment and having to negotiate life through the streets he could never fully appreciate the ramifications of something like that...or did he? Did he make that move knowing there could be a potential outcome like that and didn't care anyway? More people, especially content creators with large audiences and especially the larger radio shows and podcasts, need to start talking a lot more about this specific moment in the battle.
Jeremy sorry I’m really trying to believe you, but when I listen to you several times on different platforms you end up ruining that chance, not that you need it but as consumer that's shows to me at least, keep up certified cover boy
wow Jeremy really said that he was a fan of Schulz when Kendrick clearly said "fuck anybody empathetic to the other side I vow"😰😰😰. I guess you're now one of Kendrick's opps😬😬😬

Jeremy Hecht - Due Dilligence Review
Hey Kit Kudi & Jeremy. 😊
Hello from both of us ❤
We got the broccoli! 🥦🥦🥦
The first verse is John lee hooker aka the OG boogie man
Jeremy sorry I’m really trying to believe you, but when I listen to you several times on different platforms you end up ruining that chance, not that you need it but as consumer that's shows to me at least, keep up certified cover boy
