As far as modern era Beastboxes go, I can't disagree with you -- by comparison this one is fairly basic. I actually love that about it, though! If nothing else, it's good to see that this series can support a lot of different approaches on how to build these things; whether or not it has super complex engineering or gimmicks, or works as just a nice looking, simple display piece.

@JesusM-h6c They actually don’t come with Dianauts; I bought those separately. The point of this video was to show that the cockpits are sized to fit 1” action figures. Some Beastboxes do come with figures very similar to Dianauts, though! So far, that’s the 7cm cubes (Hurrican and Oasis), and the AMTS Racing Team vehicles.

No, Dianauts are from a different toy line, so I bought those separately.

That's almost a trick question. 🙂 Dianauts are kind of hard to come by outside of Japan; you can occasionally find them listed through online toy stores, but I've never seen them in stock. I ended up buying mine off of eBay.

@JesusM-h6c I gotcha - it’s from a separate line called Diaclones. The figure itself is called a “Dianaut”. 52Toys does have something very similar called “Hexanoids” now (they didn’t when I filmed this short), although they’re only available with the big 7cm Beastboxes and the AMTS Racing Team.

I agree! There are really only a handful that managed to make a fairly flat cube on all sides, and the owls did it while managing to completely hide the figure inside.

The owl is a great one; I have no doubt most people would put that one at the top of their list! I think Echoblaster was one of those great "entry point" figures; very well represents what 52Toys had going on with the Beastbox line. For me, it was one of the first five or so that I bought. I don't have Shredder or the Alien Queen, but have heard great things about both of them (but also the loose alien joints). Don't know if you've seen the prototype of the 2.0 or not, but it's looking _REALLY_ good. Ought to be a great release! Appreciate you sharing your favorites! ✌️😎

@@XMattingly I've only seen the "outline" of the figure, on the vip membership page, so i got no idea the color scheme or anything, just the general shape of the figure 😂😂 also, did you see the video for the snake yet? the transformation is really interesting(although, I'm not a fan of the tongue, i wish the tongue was like the chameleon figure that they did, or like a way to push the tongue into the mouth)

Yeah, essentially the new Alien is a much more proportionately realistic shape over the original "chibi" style. I'm not sure where you can find photos, but there is a gray prototype that's been displayed at toy conventions. It looks like a winner. 👍 I did see the snake video; I think my reaction was pretty similar to yours. Not a fan of the tongue issue at all; and the box mode just plain sucks. I don't care for the big flat shape on its midsection, though I understand they probably had to do that to give it stability so it doesn't flop over. Overall it has some nice qualities, but I feel like 52Toys mostly whiffed on this one... probably should reserve judgment until I actually have it in my hands. though. 🤷‍♂️

Thank you! I don't have an exact count, but I think the total is a little north of 100 figures, at this point. The big ol' box of backlogs was from a pretty good-sized Big Bad Toystore order a few years ago; it's a pretty sturdy box so it became a good place to stash new stuff that I haven't gotten to, yet. Yeah, the way I interact with my collection has definitely evolved over time. It used to be that I might get a new figure every few weeks or so, and I'd open a new one over the weekend, sort of like a little treat. But now, since I make so many videos with these and partly for lack of time, I wind up saving most of them for a review so they wind up sitting around a lot longer. My recollection on that original Big Bad Toystore order is, it was pretty much a feeding frenzy. 😁 I appreciate you watching this!

That could be pretty cool; there are a few stop motion animations floating around UA-cam that 52Toys has produced, and I could totally see something like that working for a game.

Nice! I also ordered an Ultrashield and just got it last week; it'll probably be a few months before I even get it out of the box, but definitely looking forward to it... it's a really nice looking redeco and overall one of the better Beastbox molds. 😎👍

@@austinmorrison6953 I think that’s up to the individual. But at $200 for 7 figures with VIP-only decos throughout the year and some other benefits like first dibs on exclusives, other collectibles, etc. I think it’s a pretty good deal.

Yeah, that sucks. I saw that that happened to a couple of people on message boards, and I wonder how many people that happened to. And what a weird type of damage… how does that even happen?? Honestly, that looks like straight up neglect on 52Toys’ part, to me.

Apparently 52Toys added more VIP slots; which is kind of funny since they’re still advertising them as “only 70 memberships available”. Glad you were able to pick one up. It looks like they’re going to have a lot of really good releases for the VIP next year! 👍

@ That’s possible; although the VIP advertising describes these as “exclusive versions of the release with special features”. I take that to mean, these could simply be alternate versions like Meltdown. Guess we’ll have to see!

If you mean Beastboxes in general, I usually buy from Big Bad Toystore, AliExpress, Amazon, JoyToyWorld and sometimes eBay. This specific figure probably isn’t available anywhere except the secondary market; if so it’s probably going for a huge markup.

@@VulpisFoxfire Yep, there are hidden feet in all four panels. You can actually get it in a “centaur” mode, but I didn’t show that since it’s far less common than the usual “giant robot” mode. I probably could have/should have spent more time showing different codes; although I intend to dive into that more with my AMTS Racing Team video series (currently in development). 🤷‍♂️

@@XMattingly Cool. I know some 'build your own mecha' video games have a quad-legged lower chassis along with the usual biped/tread/hover ones (Armored Core comes particularly to mind, IIRC), figured it might work on this one.

Absolutely - and it makes sense in this case, because Endymion is very symmetrical. I probably should spend more time playing around with AMTS alternate modes; I generally haven’t but there is a lot more that you can do with these things than what’s on the surface.

52Toys is a fairly new Chinese toymaker (only been around 6 or 7 years, I think), and are for the most part available through a number of online retailers like JoyToyWorld, Big Bad Toystore, or 52Toys' own stores on Amazon and Aliexpress. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@XMattingly yeah, I learned how to properly arrange the cockpits from revisiting the promotional videos on 52toys' channel. It was especially helpful with gazelle, because I had no idea how you're supposed to fit the hexanoid in and close the canopy (the answer is you don't close it)

@@unknownunknown-cd7rx Not a problem - I haven’t shown box to beast transformations very often, so it’ll be good to revisit that. It seems to be common opinion that Gazelle is harder to transform than Cheetah, which doesn’t surprise me; that was the same deal with the jet fighter set. And I’m happy to take requests when I can! Yeah, they don’t do a great job describing what you get with the cards. Don’t quote me on this, but I _think_ it’s a box of 10 packs, with 5 cards per pack. There’s supposed to be a ratio for the rarest cards (UR), but I can’t remember what it is. Again - not 100% sure about this - but I think odds are in your favor that you’ll get at least one UR in a box. Anyway, it’s new to me, also. 🤷‍♂️

@@XMattingly ya i understand the ratio stuff, but i was confused on if it was $20 for 1 pack, or $20 for a box, because i could of sworn the page said something like if you buy multiple packs, then you get a box, or something idk i might of just mis read it, but im 100% gonna buy a few when i can, i wanna get the full card collection 😂😂

I’d say the joints are very similar… some squeaky-tight ones, and that weird quirk where you have to push certain ones back together if/when they slide apart. But nothing like that cockpit joint that felt like it was going to break when you separated it.

@@ShinKatto Oh, I gotcha. It’s been a while since I fiddled with the fighters, so my perception is a little fuzzy on the robot mode; I don’t remember having issues with the hips. As far as this set I haven’t gotten far enough along with it to test out other modes, so I can’t say for sure right now. At least as far as the vehicles, I would definitely say expect very similar engineering and build quality.
